You can always name more guitarrists, yet Teemu is a beast, he never fails. I came here because of Teemu.
Romeo deserves it... one of the most underrated guitarist
romeo is so good and relaxed when he is playing.you watched him and it makes you believe that what he is playing is manageable.then you grab you guitar and you start feeling like its your first week of learning guitar.
The video of Jeff Loomis playing perpetual burn live in 1 perfect take blew my mind. He's great and so is my hero Jason Becker.
James Murphy is at the top of my list. His contributions to metal music are significant. Has been my favorite guitarist since '93.

Michael Romeo is not just a insane shredder. He is a compete musican. Teemu is technically on this level. If he is in regard to musicality at that stage... I do not know.

Playing fast is one thing, playing fast while maintaining a sort of melodic theme is another. That’s why Dave Mustaine will always be #1 on my list. I’ve never seen anyone else write such intricate and detailed/complex thrash riffs, and solos. The musicianship displayed in Megadeth’s “Rust in Peace” album is hands down best all time thrash metal album ever created in my humble opinion. 🤘

Yeah, Romeo is #1. He smokes everybody. Loomis is badass too. I also like Marty and Kiko.

I like Romeo's music. Sometimes this stuff sounds like a typewriter vs ripping metal
I didn’t know teemu till recently joined Megadeth I thought how good this guy be better than kiko I’m thinking now he might be. Extraordinary talent. Looking forward to hear what he can add to the album.
I would love to see Teemu and Kiko playing together in a new band.
This a is a fine list of 5 hyper shredders. Romeo sits on top, not really for the shred, but because the musical context in which he shreds is the finest metal writing ever done and he wrote them!

Romeo's last two albums are 100% great music, not just flurries of noodling. I respect all their abilities but the artist that can make great music and not just exercises sound best to me. Like Gary Moore, the phrasing was top notch and emotional

I always send people to listen to inferi. Malcolm Pugh and Mike Low are unmatched in technicality and feel. Sure they’re in technical deathmetal but you won’t be disappointed checking them out. It’ll be like hearing Necrophagist for the first time.

Alexi Laiho, is one of the alltime best.
Teemu Mäntysaari is way better than all of them on this list. They are all good but non of them do not have the Teemu knowledge and technique. There are way better guitarists out there like Chris broderick or AndyJames or Igor Paspalj and much more that we are going to need days to named them all, and sadly they are all very underrated

man you just excluded the best metal guitarist of all time dimebag darrell, how could you? the man was the complete package
Id have 1. Shawn Lane (fastest + most diverse) ,2. Jason Becker (he could play some of this stuff while doing yoyo with the other hand) , 3. Yngwie (try playing his strat you probably cant, he wrote and did an entire concert with the Japanese Philharmonic live and basically didnt play a single note off, guy is a genius) 4. Dimebag (complete mastery as natural as the devil in Robert Johnson) and 5. MAB the most humble and wildly talented ambidextrous shred monster of all time. Honourable mention: The Great Kat easily the best female guitarist and severely underrated. Your list is full of aces, I enjoyed watching.

Kiko is better than the first four. Only Romeo I think is a little more technical than Kiko. I'm not talking about speed.

While they claim being fans of Scando metal, the true origin of their sound is to be found in Japan and based on this song: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a6hms9ltqsbUqMY.html While good, neither Midori or Miyako can touch these players.
