    Great Video. Thank you very much. Looking forward to the others. Definitely gonna get one of the Yo Zuri Twitch Bait... I've got 3 of the 5 you talked about, Do not have the Apex and Twitch. I never had luck with the spinner bait tho - I've got 3 double blades in white and red skirt, white and green skirt and a bronzy coloured one. Will try them for Guabine when we're back out on the water. . I know its hard to mention all but the Poppers are also Quite effective and should have warranted a noteworthy mention. Tarpon just seem to hit them hard because of the disturbance on the top water as its being retrieved. Recently, I was using one of the CHEAP CHEAP hard plastic lures Mankees sells, the ones in the box for 10.00, there are about 3 or 4 different colours in 3.25". Fishing with my cheapest 7' Shimano rod paired with a Penn Wrath 3000 reel spooled with 30lb blue braid Caught about thirty plus 1.5 - 2lb Snook, not even mentioning the numerous small ones. Almost every cast they were hitting that lure. They seemed to go for the Pink ones!!!

    Thanks bro! Glad you enjoyed it! Def get a twitch! They are great! The spinner baits need a lil time to get use to working them...But they are really good! Poppers are great as well, tarpon love them, just the hook up rate is really low...Miss a lot of fish...But the top water strike is the best ! There are also many other lures that work great...But these are truly my top 5! Fish on bro!

    KosM I have a question, I'm planning on buying a small rod to so some inshore fishing, like using crank and spin bates na, which rod and reed combo would you recommend for me, $200 MAX. Something reliable for that price. I know you know your stuff so that's why I decided to ask

  • @chickenpotpie4045

    @chickenpotpie4045

    3 жыл бұрын

    Look for a Shakespeare Amphibian or Alpha combo, it have stuff for cheap that will last you a season and let you find out if you actually like this sport. DO NOT let it get wet in the sea, it WILL rust up and stop working very quickly, I talking mine was destroyed within an hour of it getting dunked. You're not gonna get reliable at your price range, take that idea out your head, the rest of us aren't spending thousands of dollars on this sport for kicks, reliable equipment is expensive and sometimes difficult to source. Kos did a video for you already actually, if you go through his channel, you'll see a video where he discusses the best choices for a beginner, I somewhat disagreed with his choices based on price point, but he chose dummy proof stuff that you can't get wrong, I telling you to buy some cheaper stuff that WILL break eventually, just so you could find out if you even like it. When the bug bites you, like it did for me, you too will spend thousands on nice gear, and if it doesn't, like my cousin, you didn't waste plenty money. If you already know you like fishing and you're gonna do this for a long time, bredda, save that money, yuh don't have enough, make it to a grand, that way you can afford to buy a quality rod and reel and some good braid and some nice lures. My Penn Pursuit III combo was like $700 like 3-4 years ago, it's probably much cheaper now and its a bulletproof rod and reel, but when I got it, I hated it because the line that was on the rod was garbage, you NEED to change the line that comes spooled on the reel, DO NOT buy monofilament line, you will hate your experience with the rod, especially since you want to throw lures, you have to buy Braided fishing line, it's way more expensive than normal fishing line, but I'm telling you right now, THAT will make the biggest difference in your fishing career, what line you choose, because it's how you feel the fish, and lines that don't transmit enough information back to your rod will cause you to miss strikes. Daiwa J braid X8 is available at all our leading local tackle shops, start with 10-15lb, trust me, you cannot break 10lb braid, I've caught gigantic Snook, Cavalli, Grouper, all kinda huge fish that are well over 30lbs on 10lb line, don't feel you need plenty, THE FISH CAN SEE THE LINE, GO SMALLER. We eh buy no lures yet and we're already up to $880, we have $120 to spend, the Yo Zuri Crystal Minnow that you see Kos catching fish like crazy on, those were $60-100 per, depending on size, the DOA CAL soft plastic lures are $35-45 a pack, Jig heads are $5-10 per depending on size. Crank baits and Spinner baits are actually pretty rare locally, I used to go to my local tackle shop every single week and I never saw any good ones, so you're gonna have to buy those online, and our shipping costs are ridiculous. Fishing is expensive bud, I usually spend more than $300 on a fishing weekend, and that's just food, drinks, bait and smokes, to then drive my own vehicle to the closest spot to fish, and that's the bare minimum of just catching a trash hardhead catfish, you wanna catch nice fish? Well you are going to have no choice but to go out on a boat, most of which want you to bring 5-6 people and each person has to pay $200, on top of figuring out your own food and drinks situation, I have never spent less than a grand on a boat trip weekend, it ain't cheap, but you are creating the memories you will remember for the rest of your life, it's worth it.

    @@chickenpotpie4045 I'm not new to the fishing thing, it have reliability levels for different price ranges, I want the most reliable thing I could get with ma 200, I could buy a cheap combo fuh 200 that is not a brand name and a alpha fuh 200, the alpha would be a better rod in THAT 200 price range, see what ah saying, I was going to buy back an alpha rod and reel combo but I just wanted to see a professional's opinion and what he uses. And I could afford a penn pursuit, I just don't want to buy an expensive ting , I is not a Jeremy wade who does fish for a living I is jus a person that want to have fun. I went out and caught fish multiple times, I just didn't use a rod I usually use hand reels, its just that I've grown an interest to the inshore fishing so that's why I wanted an opinion. Thanks for the advice though. Lewwe hope Rowley ease heself so we could fish again

  • @KoSMTT

    @KoSMTT

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey bro, as Chicken Pot Pie said, it is very difficult to get a reliable combo for $200.00...You can get combos for that price range, just don't expect it to last too long, unless you take the absolute best care of it. I always suggest that if you are buying, go to MANKEEs...And buy the best you can afford. A 6ft 6" or 7ft med action rod and a 3000 sized reel, will be the perfect combo for inshore...The lowest end I can recommend that will give you good performance and can stand up to saltwater fishing is the Penn Pursuit 3 combo...If you not willing to spend that much, then get something in your price range at Mankees...The Shimano Stimula is an excellent rod...You can look for a 3000 sized reel to match it. Alpha combos, are not the best...The rod is good...But the reels are not. So its up to you. Just get something and get a line in the water! Fish on!
