Oh boy do we have a fun video today! We are going in with the new updated top 5 Kamado’s in 2021! A lot of new exciting things have come out this year and this video will showcase many new features these kamados have to offer.
Let’s go from worse to best, although the worst is still an amazing grill. Ranks at Number 1 we go into the Kettle Joe brought to you by Kamado Joe
5. Kettle Joe.
This new model from Kamado works wonders! This grill is made out of metal. It comes with the classic smoke roller that comes with all Kamado joe’s. Another really awesome feature is the fact that this bad boy has ceramic plates that hold heat inside the firebox! This will help to hold heat in low and slow cooking settings as well as in a searing setting!
4. Big Green Egg
We take a look at the Big Green Egg at the number 4 spot. We see with this staple of a brand that not much has changed over the years. They have been around forever but have failed with innovative. Not much new tech has been added to the grill. Since we everyone has been around green egg and they are such a big company there is no denying that they are one of the best in the market still. One thing that we love with this model is the variety of sizes as well as all the accessories that Big Green Egg has produced!
3. Primo Kamado
Primo, where do we begin. With primos patented oval shape there is a lot to love about this grill. For example we are able to fit a variety of meats on this bad boy. As far as tech goes, they are a little behind on improving their product but none the less it’s still one of the best Kamado’s in this class. With its high quality ceramic it really can cook any meet to perfection.
2. Weber Kamado Series
Ohh boy did Weber surprise us with this one. Rank number 2 in it’s class in our opinion the Weber Kamado really blew the previous grills out of the water! We see with this Weber that the enamel finish is highly durable. So much so that we were able to take a knife to the finish without scratching the thing! Another great feature is the ignite system. This allows you to light your charcoal without taking a blow torch to it. We also love the air control, that doubles as an ash agitator. This allows you to clean your ash in a very easy and efficient way. Weber really did a great job on this product.
1. Kamado Joe Classic III
It comes at no surprise that the Kamado Joe ranks in at number 1. Why is that though? We think that Kamado really sets itself apart from other brands with its innovation. All the features you have seen on the previous grills mentioned, Kamado Joe has almost always come out with it first. They are leading the Kamado category with new features, and as a result all the other companies have been following suite. Because of that the Kamado industry has been really booming lately.
Those are our Top 5 kamados for 2021! We hop you enjoyed the video! If you need make sure to like an subcribe and comment! Thanks for watching!

This kzread.infoUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo unit was an easy install and turned out amazing. The dimensions were exact! I took a chance and built the wall prior to receiving the unit which arrived sooner than expected and it fit right in the space I constructed. The heat output is perfect for the space we needed and made the room exactly how we envisioned it to turn out. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thank you for the awesome product just in time for the holidays.

With Kamado Joe I would like to add that they make new improvements backwards compatible. I have a classic 2 but I could buy the roller and run it on the older product. They not only take care of new customers with innovation but they do not leave their older customers out in the rain. Great video thanks

ff@@embersliving Sorry, but my experience with customer service (I have a Series 1 Big Joe) has been the single worst of my life. In the 5 years I've owned the cooker the hinge failed, the dome cracked and the base cracked. Replacement of the hinge took months and forced me to put a screw-eye above the cooker with a ratcheting pulley to hold the lid open, When the dome cracked it took months for a replacement to arrive which was too small so I went several more months with what was then a completely unusable product. Same and worse. with replacing the base, It took 8 MONTHS to arrive and again was an inch smaller in diameter than the lid. They have told me that they are shipping a matched pair but all.attempts to find out when continue to go unanswered. ALL TOLD, MY BIG JOE HAS BEEN OUT OF COMMISSION FOR OVER 2 YEARS! My apologies for posting this on your channel as I find you to be one of the most informed and candid resellers on KZread but my frustration has made me desperate. p.s. FYI, none of the Series 3 accessories fit the Series 1. 8/9/22 UPDATE- Kamado Joe finally solved the problem... they shipped me a complete, in box, series 1 replacement. To omit this would be dishonest. That said, with my decades of BBQ experience I would recommend either a Bronco Pro or a Weber Summit Charcoal (steel kamado) over any ceramic cooker. While I think Weber products have become some of the worst on the market in recent years, the 'kamado' solves a few problems inherent in ceramics: it heats/cools much faster (but is still efficient), it is lightweight and easy to move around and it is essentially unbreakable. And less $! The Bronco Pro, while technically a drum smoker, is an excellent drum, direct grill, flat smoker and 'kamado' cooker as well. With either product I can't recommend the addition of a Fireboard Controller with Fan.

Just bought the Primo Oval Jr. and am delighted. The all-in-one rolling cart shelves are not made to sit on but work just fine as side tables for a grill. The wheels roll just fine on my concrete paver patio. I suppose the cart could have heavier duty side tables but don't see any reason to spend money that way. The oval design and high quality of the grill make the Primo #1 for me as I cook very little round food.

I have my Summit delivered last week. I used it for the first time this weekend. After the first use, I cleaned up the ashes with one touch. Then I noticed that metal wings from the one touch system did actually scratch the enamel. Have you spotted if the one touch system scratches the bowl in your Summit?

I have the kettle Joe and the classic Joe. I really like the kettle. It heats faster than the ceramic but also cools faster. As far as cooking the kettle with the slow roller is great. If you’re cooking a brisket and have had trouble with drying out the bottom of one the slow roller is amazing now vs my GMG pellet grill elevating the meat away from the firebox and putting a additional heat shield device to prevent the drying. The kettle agin is my favorite. Much better smoke ring and ribs that are moist without any spritzing. For a person on a budget the kettle Joe is the winner. Coming in at $500 vs $800 for the cheapest classic Joe that doesn’t come with a slow roller it’s another $300. A trick I use is a piece of metal or a large pizza stone that fills in close too the edges of the sidewalls it does a good job replicating the smoke rolling action. It makes a little difference not worth stressing over. I looked at those Kamodo Kamdos. Wow $6400 I like the tile finish on them and the oval styles.

I have a weber summit grill like the one you have in this review. Like all grills the stainless grills will eventually wear out get thin and have to be replaced. I've rebuilt mine from rust once in 5 years. If you have a male dog he will kill your steel cart on this grill from hiking his leg. Thank God weber is made in the u.s.a. now the good part. It doesn't dry out the meat like the others. Moist and the technology evolved cooking butts, brisket and leg of lamb come out perfect like it was smoked on a competition grill. In 5 years I've used less coal and only a meat probe. Ceramic seems to dry out and required spritzing and fans to control the heat. Not the summit I can hold heat at 189 degrees for hours. 225 it's amazing. Bad side. The rust. Can only smoke 2 Carolina racks of ribs and 1/2 at a time. What would make it better ? Better grade of stainless steel cooking grates and grate holders. Stainless steel cart. And that's it folks. That's a 5 year review. If you could see the photos of my cooks.

nice review of all of the smokers . I did my research on all these my self and found the Kamdo was the best choice also, the weber isn't perfect when it comes to the seal, the smoke comes out from the sides. I wanted to buy the Primo also but I kept coming back to the Kamado Big Joe. You're right it's a$$$ but it's an investment , but the smaller one is just as good with other means if you don't do monster briskets,I tend to do monster briskets . That said , great video !! Brad.

Gonna lay down my opinion. I had a Kamado Joe Classic 1 for three years. At the time, it my my favorite cooker. And still, it is a great kamado to choose. My biggest issue is the fact that they sold out to Masterbilt. The have no phone number to call and talk to tech support and the only way to file a claim is online. They almost never work with you with these claims and constantly want to reject them. They have probably the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in the BBQ world. Another big issue is the ceramic heat deflectors are TRASH! They break all the time even with drip pans. In the 3 years I had mine, I had 5 sets break. I sold it and picked up a Weber Summit Charcoal. Weber has some of the best customer service. I had an issue with my older mastertouch, and they just replaced the whole damn grill. Not that I don't respect your selection, but I am speaking from true experience.

@@timandrews4722 That greatly depends on your situation (what you're cooking, cookers, layout, lifestyle/house, etc) and your personal preferences. - The range on Bluetooth devices like the Meater is pretty weak. Meater's effective range can be OK if you have a second device to relay the signal over WiFI, but without that you're going to have to stick really close to keep an eye on the temperature, especially if your cooker is surrounded by thick metal. - If you don't need or want to monitor over the internet with a smartphone, I'd recommend the Thermoworks Smoke x2 or x4, which is RF/radio (not wifi). Unlike the original smoke, the range is crazy good. -If you want WiFi/internet or want a more sophisticated thermometer, your best bet is the Fireboard 2 IMO. If you get the Drive model it can run a blower off its built-in battery and regulate the temperature of charcoal cookers with its built-in PID algorithm (works very well!). Thermoworks makes a lot of good products (I have a bunch of their other stuff), but when you get into the more advanced models with more ports, blowers, WiFI-native, etc, Fireboard is the way to go IMO. *** I've got a Meater+ and it's worked OK for me so far. I do trust my thermoworks and fireboard devices better (speed, accuracy, reliability, and probably long-term lifespan) and pull them out for longer cooks. For me the main selling point on the meater+ is no (probe) wires to contend with (nice on quick cooks or when moving food to different devices) and that it's compatible with rotisserie (it's main selling point for me). Since I have a spare tablet I can keep tabs on things around the house (or even away), but without it I'd have to be right outside my patio door to pick it up even with the Bluetooth range-extending device in between. The Meater block presumably addresses that with its built-in WiFi feature, but I haven't tried that (dont see much advantage if you have a spare tablet/smartphone and dont need to monitor multiple probes at once). I don't know if I'd recommend Meater yet as a generic all-around BBQ thermometer since I suspect the hardware is less robust and the company has done some shady things in the past (wouldn't want to lean heavily on their warranty, for example). AmazingRibs.com is probably your best bet for thermometer reviews, tho I figured I'd lay it out in broad strokes, as I see it. amazingribs.com/ratings-reviews/thermometers/

@@timandrews4722 I'm not familiar with that specific model, but I'd guess that's a safer bet for your needs than a Bluetooth-based devices like the Meater. Much rides on how good the WiFi stack is and the maturity of their smartphone software (some devices fare poorly in both), tho the reviews look pretty good (esp. for that price point). I think you're likely to have a somewhat smoother experience with something like Fireboard 2 and find that it'll hold up longer in the long run (software updates, replacement probes, etc), but the price difference isn't insignificant, of course. BTW-I find these devices are useful for things other than just BBQ (cooking indoors in the oven, monitoring oil temp for frying outdoors, etc), so mine get a lot of use.

I have the Summit Kamado and am not super stoked on the build quality of the unit. The hinge/ring the hinge mounts to just seems flimsy compared to the Kamado Joes and other ceramic cookers, the cart is pretty wonky (the wheels aren't great). Also the fact that they removed the solid shelf on the bottom is a real piss-off, along with the cheapening of the diffuser plate. That being said, their price reduction to the Canadian market was not equivalent to what they did to the US either so that is just icing on the cake. The other thing with the Kamado is the lower vent vs. every other one where the stepped intake size can create a bit of a difficult control situation since it isn't linear like the KJs or BGEs- which is made a little bit worse because the KJ has a nice deep firebox so with the diffusers in, you still have plenty of airflow to control combustion, but with the Kamado you have the diffuser right on top of the coal bed, which can choke the fire pretty easily.

Primo ceramics are kiln fired to the highest temp… a temp the grill cannot achieve. So given the top brands all offer lifetime warranty it’s a bit of a mute point IMO

Have a BGE since 2002, being a long time user, helps, but if you dont or never use it, you cannot make comments about what you have. Yes it does have a clean out system. Also you do not need a water pan in a ceramic cooker/smoker, the ceramic prevent heat and moisture from escaping, unlike a metal unit. And you can crank the unit up to 500-800 deg for Pizzas.

Personally for me, I went with the Joe as they are innovating, making changes, gasket upgrade, hinge, control tower, better stand etc. However, the BGE is amazing, it should have got at least no.2 on this list if not compete directly with the Joe. The BGE does get an ash tray and all these grills work on radiant and convection heat so no water pan needed so absolutely agree with you. I do believe however BGE have sat still a bit, but one could argue why change what works? This is why we have choice I suppose…… 👍

It's truly made in America, in Georgia. It's all cast iron. There are 2 sizes for it. The warranty is unmatched. And it's just an overall bad ass cooker. But it never gets a whole lot of love when people talk kamados. I wish more people would know about it. I'm really glad I went with Goldens over Kamado joe. I just hear too much about durability with them. I can slam my cast iron lid down every day all day and never have a problem. And that peace of mind is awesome.

Obviously, the all in one is just a way to not have it sitting on the ground, fair enough. Then you say that they need to show the brand some love and fix some things but you don't say what that is. Dealer service? Item design? I really don't have a dog in the fight. I've had a Vision for years and have a new gravity feed pit showing up any day now. BGE vs Kamado Joe....no comparison. The Joe is the clear winner: better value through better customer orientation, better standard features and included items, better gaskets, better heat control, better hinge / lift-ability of top, and better innovation driven through continuous improvement. BGE sits on the laurels and, I predict, will get lost in the shuffle...similar to the way GM has in the auto industry where the Japanese and Koreans are absolutely kill'in it.

My only issue with the BGE is it's made in Mexico. I went with the XL out the door from ACE for $1650 with XL BGE, nest, conveggtor and ash tool. The warranty means a lot as well. If something breaks, I call ACE, show them the broken part and get a new part. Can't beat that. I don't want to be forced into having to buy everything KJ offers in the same size for $1K more. You can look for sales on every accessory on Amazon for all of these. Also, the newest KJ is the best one to go with because of the cap and other things but you have to buy all their accessories with it. The cap new caps on the BGE are awesome. The gasket on the BGE is perfectly fine and doesn't leak. Food tastes just as good in it as any of the others. The best thing KJ does is their charcoal. Can't beat it. I will own a Joe Jr in the near future because of the price and it weighs a good bit less than the BGE mini max. Good video

These reviews are horrible "its like your grandpa boring but reliable" " there's no way to clean it" what you need is a VJ memorial marching music. put it in front of an American flag. and get excited pretty lady to yell "these grills are hot, hot , hot"

He comes off a tad cocky but I've never met him in person. For all we know, he could be a solid dude that treats his employees well. At the end of the day, he's a salesman. He can't be boring. Nobody would buy anything from him.

Top 5 kamados for the more money than brains club. Get the Akorn. It's $300 and basically all the KJ accessories work on it. It's a bargain.

@@nicg9599 I got one 8 years ago, used form my brother in law. I have it on a covered porch and I still use it today. The retaining wire for the ash tray is the only item that rusted to the point I removed it. The ash pan is still connected with the side clips, you just have to hold it up to get it attached instead of sliding it in. I actually prefer it because the wire didn't work easily. It just isn't true that they are junk and fall apart quickly. Functionally it will do anything a KJ will do for 1/4 the price. I even bought a second one. There is obviously nothing wrong with the KJ and nothing wrong with buying one. But anyone who lusts over a Kamado and can't afford one should get the Acorn. They won't be missing a thing. Plus you can cook on it for five years while saving money and any accessory you buy will work when you've finally gotten your KJ.

@@nicg9599 There is one thing you can do with the Akorn that would be much more difficult with a KJ. I can lift mine into the back of my truck all by myself and not worry much about it while I drive to a tailgate or a park or a friends house to BBQ or smoke.
