Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit kzread.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

I disagree with being discreet on the cast I get maybe 2 out of 5 fish on just the splash of the cast alone before I even get a chance to twitch or start walking it. Best thing to do is cast and let the frog sit completely still until the ripples dissipate before moving the frog , thank me later when the fish blows up on it before you even got a chance to do anything.

Rips the fish's face of with an absurdly violent and unnecessary hookset, holds the fish horizontally, potentially dislocating it's lower jaw so it can't eat and starves to death, and then throws the fish back in from 5 feet above the water, effectively shocking the fish more than it already is. nice.

Yeah, not the overly nature loving type but fishing can and will effect the fish and the habitat to a degree. You should at least make sure your not harming the fish for no reason trust me they will starve themselves if over pressured or harmed it's not good for them and it's not good for you (in the long run) or the coming generations if we wish for them to have the same experiences as we do. If you like fishing by all means do it but don't leave trash behind, the best thing you can do is leave with more trash than you came with people will notice especially on private lakes and ponds you will find they happily let you back and very well may put a good word in for you to a close friend who has a pond of their own. What every you are doing or where ever you are you should always be a respectful guest.

Letting them eat it is for sure one of the most important ones, I was pond fishing a well stocked pond in late evening in Louisiana, I would get a hit every time I threw it up close to the bank and around cover, but I got in the habit of trying to set the hook too soon, when I realized I outta let em get a better bite I started hooking them. They love hearing that frog pop across the water lol, the noise gets their attention a lot better than I thought

A fast gear rachio and strong braid is important when your frog fishing but you don’t need a 7’ 6’’ heavy action you can just use a medium heavy but definitely don’t go medium action of softer you need at least a medium heavy action rod and definitely that fast tip

Definately new subs here. Been out there for 5 days straight and not a single fish to show for. And then I come accross your video just pulling on after another............. but 60lb+ braid??? Can not afford a baitcaster right now, and my spinning reel got only 16lb mono. Looks like I am lucky not to have any bites yet. :-)

I've been throwin plastic worms & lizards up on the bank for a silent presentation since the 70's. That was a great tip!! You sure yank those Bass outta the water in a hurry. I assume you don't do that in more open water??

Another bonus tip use pliers to pull that hook up alittle more then it is so you get better hook sets it'll make it alittle less weedless but itll still be weedless and you will get better hook sets

Well I watched a video from another pro who said that for most situations you want to use a medium heavy power fast action rod, he said most people miss strikes with the heavier stuff . Mike Iconelli said to use a spinning reel even. Seems like there are many ways to do this.

I fished for 3-4 weeks in retention ponds around Jacksonville trying to catch my first large mouth, on the 4th or 5th spot I tried I had fished all day with nothing, after magic hour had come n gone with nothing, suns setting behind the trees at this point, I decided to cast one more time with my frog. I cast that frog as hard and high as I could, almost straight up over the center of the pond, it hanged in the air in free fall for a good 3,4 seconds before disappearing under the surface of the water, all day the frog had been making this “plop” sound when it hit the water, not this time, this time it just disappeared as soon as it made contact, my spool started screaming and next thing I knew I had a fish jumping and dancing across the top of the water. I’ve fished saltwater all my life, mostly inshore, never caught a fish that jumped out the water like that so it was one hell of an experience. After I took a photo of it and thanked the fish for the fight I let it go, well I decided “One More Cast” after my “final cast” why not, I do exactly what I did before, casted as hard and high as I could so the frog had lots of hang time, right as it went to hit the water and make that cliche “plop” sound it once again disappeared and bam, fish on… Two large mouth back to back at the very end of the day, good stuff. Oh on the second one he was dancing on the top of the water with his tail shaking his head back and forth when suddenly I saw my bright green frog lure go flying up the line, my heart skipped a beat because I thought the fish through the hook, but he had simply destroyed my frog lure to the point it came off the hook, poor thing was shredded after that fish, ended up throwing it away after that, he was a good soldier who did his job.

Right off the bat let me give you a tip, when the fish hits the frog, count to three then set the hook. That’s why you missed that first fish two times.
