Top 5 Exotic Cars That Are ACTUALLY CORVETTES!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Everyone can recognize a Corvette- it's the most iconic American sports car of all time! But what if the reliable platform and naturally aspirated V8 was given a more exotic supercar exterior? These five wild performance cars all have one secret in common, hiding underneath the carbon fiber and Italian leather.

    Not just the V8 engines. The Corvette hydroformed aluminum chassis is among the lightest and strongest on the market. There's a reason people are building 1200+ hp Corvettes without having to reinforce the frames.

    @@ozibit99 worked at a race shop for 2 months before cali laws made it illegal. audis and supras were regulars for rebuilds when over 700whp. at around 900 the supras needed rear subframe and connecting areas strengthened cause after a few hundred pulls at that kind of power they tend to collapse like e36 rear subs when driven with cracked mounts. i didnt work on the s2 but i saw 2 in getting front end worked on with a welder {assume it was strengthening weakened metal} where as the corvettes are good to around 1700hp and 1 that i did the head work on was used as a super car road tripper that put over 130k on it at 1600ish in 3 years{3 tunes from 1100 to 1600}

    This sort of reminds me of Duesenberg: you bought the rolling chassis and then took that to your coach builder to put a body of your choice on it. GM didn't actually make the bodies. This was pretty common back in the day. Nice to see some carrying on the tradition.

    Damn that Ares S1 roadster at 0:34 would have me sold. Of course for over half a million you could probably find a much better investment (or two) but what a schweeet lookin' ride. Crazy thing is that if Vette wanted to just make that body they could probably produce them for $70K a piece at 30 thousand units a year off their automated assembly line. Put in a manual and I am a buyer.......hell I'll get a second job to make the payments.

A beautiful car is always a car with PERSONALITY. This is what is lacking today because of "pedestrian safety", "emissions" etc.. Cars are all designed in the same way (based on regulations) and therefore follow the same tasteless and bland no-identity pattern. Cars in my garage? A 77' C3 next to a 97'Viper GTS. They all look aliike these days simply due to them having to do the same job and meet the same requirements. Also new cars have to appeal to a wide audience so they make them as bland as possible. yeah, it's not just horsepower, aerodynamics comes into it. It's like hulls on boats: doesn't matter how much hp, the "hull" will only allow the boat to go x mph. Same as a body on a car: the wide flat nose will prevent it from going anywhere near 300. It would fly apart long before that due to pressure. I don't know the exact figures but bugatti/veyron found it took 700 hp to do 200 mph. Then another 600 to do the next 64.

    i dont understand taking a corvette and putting a different body on it. corvettes look fantastic. like a c7 zr1 or z8 corvette look as good as or better than most super cars in my opinion. and everytime i see a c8 i do a double take thinking its some exotic car

    No one else gonna note that the corvette never was and never will be a muscle car. It was literally designed to be Americas sports car and it still is.

    Dude that is not A C8. That car came out before the C8. It has its own custom frame and uses a LS 3. Engine. Not the eng8ne from the C8. Stop giving out wrong information

    Well, it's all utter rubbish exept the Ares wich looks great, oh wait ! Doesn't it mean that they didn't HAVE to make the C8 ugly as FäCK ??... and the IsoRivolta Zagato wich looks "classic" maybe(?) but very pretty and cool.
