I am a Sens fan. I am not sure if you are aware but, his first child ever was still born. He might be one of the most skilled athletes on the ice in the world, but it must have been very mentally difficult for him. For professional athletes to perform and live upto their expectations, all matters must be properly taken care of - mental, physical and mechanical.

No offense to your team, but you didn't need a player like Karlsson, you already had Burns. As great as these dynamic defencemen are, you can't have too many on one team. The Sens had a game plan that put the puck on Karlsson's stick as much as possible, it's a totally different system in SJ.

I went to one of the home games back when they played at Lansdowne, I’ve seen the 07 final loss to the ducks, I’ve seen Alfie walk, but I haven’t been able to watch hockey since we lost Karlsson. He was honestly our second coming and they let him leave to save alittle bit of money that Ottawa will continue to invest in “rebuilds” Aka being the professional farm team for the NHL cause they’ll never sign big contracts and it’s where the old players go to die.

As a Swede I also love him for his offensive skills, but I don’t let that blind me from the fact that he has only had 4 +seasons out of 17. To me defensively he is not Norris. The NHL should split the Norris into different categories including best offensive defenseman, best defensive defenseman, best +- stats for a defenseman and Norris(best defenseman considered all three categories) How can you get the Norris if you have a big -season?.. It undermines the purpose of that prize.

Well, you got the obvious #1 correct, but I dunno bout the other picks. I was a Sens fan for Karlsson's entire time there, and, except for the pass to Brossard, I don't think any of these other picks evn belong in a top 20 list of Karlsson plays - let alone top 5. This dude playmaking ability is outrageous. In 2017 alone, he created a top ten list.

@@WoWPVPc0rner there's no way he bounces back to that level. Not with his ankle. He clearly has not been the same since the start of the 2018 season. He still has a lot of good years in him, imo. But that 11 million cap hit does sting.

The worst thing he did was leave Ottawa: he was a huge star in Ottawa and around the league. Best thing that ever happened to Ottawa was him leaving. (Love the guy) but it’s the truth. We ended up with a 3rd overall for him.

Karlsson played poorly, became injured, and he seems to be losing a step as he gets older. However, the man has pride and those highlights show off his high hockey IQ - which hasn't gone away just yet, so I'm expecting him to bounce back next season.

Because he’s paid 11.5M to play like vintage Karlsson just like how Price is paid to be an one man army. The fact that Sharks unexpectedly gave up a surprisingly good prospect in Norris and one of Stutzle or Byfield make the Sharks fans and other hockey fans have even higher expectation for Karlsson even though the deal at first was a fleecing
