What bugs me about it is, if you buy the expensive phone model, you're probably only getting 500GB of storage at the most, the cloud storage ain't worth anything because what if I'm somewhere with no Internet I can't watch my movies over the cloud because I have no Internet, if I get a phone with expandable storage I can plop in a 1TB or 2TB SD card and download all the game & movies I want to watch without worrying about running out of space.

Samsung A series still have the SD card slot. Forget about the S series flagship phones. The last s series to have SD card slot is s20fe.

If only we still had that option. I use to havs the s10+ 1tb plus a 1tb micro sd card. Wish i still had it but unfortunately the screen is too small after using the s20 ultra & s23 ultra for so long

S20fe, a52, a53, a73 all have SD card slot.

Kinda upset that phones are losing the sd card slot and now the sim card slot (pixel 8 might be the trend after iphone to lose it)... I find it easy and nice to transfer my card to other phones when I feel like switching. Wish android wouldn't get rid of so many useful things. First the audio jack now this. What's next?!

Its all about the money when it comes to the SD card slot disappearing from flagship phones. People would generally buy the lowest priced flagship and throw in a SD card to expand storage, but guess what the manufacturer wasn't making money from that so they removed that option. Now you have to pre-purchase the storage you think your going to need and pay more for the phone.

Hey Matthew, I am thinking of getting the s10 as it has all the things that I love in the phone. I have an issue though, since it doesn't get any more security patches, how much of lifespan does it have? I am planning at the very least using it for 2 years so I'm worried if the phone will have issues in the year of 2025.

I wanted a gaming phone with a micro sd slot..but I guess that is rare to come by..

im still rockin the samsung s20 ultra 512gb unlocked 16 ram maxed got it since the day its out with the buds pro for free which also worked amazing 👏 and when i bought it i also got the OG big rectangle power block its still working well 👍 holds a charge and a qrtr lol the phone it performs amazing i open like 25 apps and im still good almost 4 years strong. I will say the battery needs to be charged like 3 times a day if im using it heavy compared to when i first gpt it it could last all day on one charge but when they came out with battery life extender feature that throttles the charge to 85% that helped immensely for the samasung phone lives! the screen has one or 2 cracks i got about a year ago somehow with the case and screen protector on which was disappointing but hardly noticeable besides that i just dont like it without a case it gets slippery and the camera needs to be wiped with cloth and gets blurred from light and just dirty often but i love it i was thinking of getting a pixel 6 pro soon they like 220/225 on amazon/ebay... but it doesn't have an sd card😢 but thats a steal at this point 🎉 they got 512gb available still at least. p.s. started typing this when u said the first phone and when i finished u mentioned the s20 ultra at the end lmao 🤣 i try to consider iphone but then im like damn i feel they cant even beat the s20 ultra yet 😢😢😅 like idk what id be paying for to upgrade

Wjat annoys me with could is the subscriptions. Id be ok paying per GB or something, but not per month, thats bs. I just need a lil extra space, not a whole TB every year. Ik lot of ppl do, but i dont take a TB worth of photos/vids a year.

In short, if you want high-end phone, the only option is Sony flagships. There are also old flagships like samsung 20 series, LGv60. The mid-range phone are now the same price as old flagships, so I would prefer them over mid-range phones with slow processor chips.

I guess I'll stick with the Sony Xperia phones. :-)

So I'm thinking about getting Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, I'm not sure if it still a good phone for now but it does look good decent and if it functions like it should then I want get it. Plus I need in SD card slot I listen to too much music for there not to be one.

I love my S20 Ultra 5g, I went from an S8 active into this. The actives would survive the apocalypse. I put mine in an ArmadilloTek Vanguard Case but the back glass still took some damage.

A 54 for the win.. the phones that you're showing your mostly from a different year

.. you seem more worried about the CPU speed for gaming.. when the update for the next android os comes you lose support especially if your delivery driver or something like that you need the latest update of the operating system to run your apps. A54 will have it for another how many years of support.. you can keep up to date with app updates.. that's what happened with my iphone basically turns into a brick 6S plus. What other phone is out there that has bang for the buck .. the 854 is going for 399.. I'm only looking at it because it still has a sd slot.. not even sure what the hell I would put on the phone anyway can I actually put music onto the SD card or movies and then take it and use it in different device I'm not even sure if I am allowed to if they allow you to do that I'm only really familiar with iOS they don't let you do shit with that Apple stuff that's why I'm opting out and looking at android stuff ... my car stereo has an SD slot that I'd like to put music right now I have one that's in the unit that I use I'd like to update some of the music to it would I be able to do that with a phone with that slot or is it super protected and they won't let you or there's no software for it I would think there is otherwise I wouldn't need a slot I don't take many pictures... so the camera part is not super important to me gaming would be fun now being able to emulate stuff

Love my note20 ultra but no more security updates is making me look for a new phone.

idk if i should buy the old flagship phones or buy newer ones because old flagships such as s20 ultra have old android os now (which is android 13) where the latest android os is 14 so you wont get any features in android 14 on s20 ultra but im looking for a phone that can play heavy games without issues while having sd card slot and phones nowadays dont have sd card slot now. only in the budget phone category that has sd card slot 😢

I broke my s21 ultra and went for the s10e and it didnt game good at all it overheated with everything. Now I have the a51 5g and it is amazing. Kind of a premium feel and look, it handles CODM really well. The camera set up isnt bad it satisfies my needs. The display is pretty good. The a54 though i didnt like the feel of it or the specs at all. I will not buy a phone that has a plastic frame.

@not.ziad1 I don't get that either. This a51 5g is from what 2020 and the a54 is from 2023 and the a51 out performs it. My brother still has his s21 ultra and he lags more than I do with the a51 5g. He cleans the ram and all as I do. So I don't know what that's about. The "only" complaints that I have with this a51 5g is that when using 5g network which is most of the time the phone overheats. So I use my wifi when gaming, etc. My only other complaint is that it doesn't have stereo speakers, or dual speakers. Those are my only two complaints.

@not.ziad1 And not to mention, I don't see why Samsung would build a phone that has a plastic frame but glass on front and back. If you drop that a54 even in a case the weight being on the front and back would probably warp the plastic frame pretty easily. Or the components inside the device aren't going to be fastened down real good like with an aluminum frame and/or stainless steel frame.

With other words tech giants are trying to earn air money. Nevertheless with an sd card you have the commodity in moving everything there and flash your phone. Now you need either to be stupid enough to trust the cloud storage or move everything to a PC. If you ask me i don't like the integrated battery either...but things are they are...

Too bad it was pretty much just mainstream stuff. Lots of phones in other markets that work in the US that aren't Samsung devices.

V60 for battery life and main camera. But if you want to take Zoom photos or a punchhole display, go for s21 plus. I don't recommend the S20 ultra anymore because so many of my friends got green lines on that display
