I'm surprised the Dakota R/T didn't make it in over the Xtreme. At one point the R/T was the best handling pickup ever built.

I wouldn't put the Extreme on the list, and for the Lightning, I'd have chosen the '04 that was rated at 380 bhp with a 0-60 in 5.4. Lastly, I'd have included the late model Silverado SS.

The 5.4l in the GT500 and GT are 4v Motors the 5.4l was a 2v truck engine just with a supercharger slapped on it

I drove the typhon alot when i younger. A friend had one. Fastest thing I've drove. And crazy fast for teenagers to have. Made me fall in love with turbos. Currently building a turbo 4.3 to go in a 99 Tacoma

the lightning had the higher top speed over the syclone, but the syclone could run 0-60 in the high 4s and the 1/4mile in the low 13s which makes it the quickest truck on the list

Be getting my SRT-10 in a few days. Completely stock Quad cab. So Ima just have to slowly PIMP it out with awesome goodies!!!

The S10 info is all wrong. The 96-98 S10 SS was a standard cab only truck with a the much better L35 4.3. The Extreme that came out in 99 used the body cladding but the lower horsepower 4.3

The lightning is still the fastest (1/4 mile) production truck ever made. They always ate SRT10’s for lunch

number 1 on the list but the 1/4 mile time is still slower than the lightning... somebody sounds biased

Sorry, but the 02-03 supercharged Harley Davidson edition F150's shouldve definitely beat out the S10.

the extreme was a body kit that's all that's just an average s10

I had a 2001 s10 extreme and there was absolutely nothing muscle about that truck. It looked nice but other than that it was a dog.

Back in ‘04/‘05 I️ use to blow the doors off SRT10’s in my ‘03 Lightning all day long. Had a cat back pulley intake and tune about 1200 bucks all in at $34k vs $45k and a fortune for aftermarket parts

The lightning 5.4 is a different engine than the Cobras/ Mauraders. The Lightning has an f-150 triton 16v V8 and the Cobras have a 32v V8. I don't think much is left to speculate...

They never made a 1996 Xtreme S10. They had the S10 SS from 96-98. Same Vortec 4.3L but the Xtreme didn't even come out til 1999.

The syclone should be number 1, it is to this date the fastest production truck ever built. Not the lighting. Also the S10 w code, first gen w code 200hp 4.3 was killed off in 95, the Xtreme got the second gen w that made 190hp. First gen ran from 92-95.

The 2nd gen SVT Lightning has a SOHC 2V 5.4 really easy to identify just looking at the valve covers. the 5.4 DOHC 4 V wasn't in production until the later Ford GT

For one yes they did make a Ford lightning in the 90s And you put A S10 extreme in here over a 1990 454 SS

RC create Yes they're both Badass the Syclone & the Typhoon plus all of the cars, The Grand Nation, T-Type, GNX, Turbo Trans Am which had the same engine from the GNX and the Turbo GrandPrix That had a 3.1L Garret Turbo supplied by Mclarren! From the mid 80's to the early 90's GM was doing the Turbo shit long before all these ricer's did and now it's like they invented the fucking wheel! Good luck brother I hope you get your dream car just keep saving and you'll get there, just becareful who you buy from get a nice clean one, if you see any performance part's on it you know it's been beat on pull the plug and walk! Try to get one that look's like it just came off the showroom floor you'll pay more but you'll be driving it more then you will fixing it! ☺

Not to mention the "lil red express" which had more HP than the corvette that year. You gotta Mopar at number #1 but it the wrong one. That ram is as heavy as a pontoon boat.

No, +Adam Woolley, the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT10 would make mincemeat out of the 1978 Dodge Adventurer 100 Lil' Red Express/Midnight Special/Warlock. You want to REALLY impress someone with a classic truck game, how about you go to the model of truck that Dodge had PRIOR to the Adventurer/Ram body, specifically, the Sweptline (which also looked good, and kind of Chevrolet/GMC like, oddly enough) and soup up a Dude model of that truck with an engine that is sourced from a high performance version of a Dodge Charger/Charger Daytona/Challenger/Coronet/Super Bee or Plymouth Barracuda/'Cuda/Road Runner/Road Runner Superbird or turn the fuck out of that engine until it reaches numbers in the terms of horsepower and torque that rival the Hellcat Demon engines of the top of the line Dodge Challenger of modern times, thus YOU have the wrong one here. Furthermore, the Viper engine is sourced from a vehicle that has rivaled the Chevrolet Corvette in the terms of many track races as well as endurance races, most notably the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Mopar on this list should undoubtedly be a Dakota RT. It had a real power to weight ratio and could decently handle, unlike an SRT ram.

They had a ford lighting in the 90s haha it's cool tho

Gmc syclone all day baby, was actually under rated at horsepower papers said 280 actual power was around 330 (which was more then the trans am, Pontiac firebird, and chevy Camero of the same year)

Bro, you need to get your facts straight on the Srt-10. You showed a single cab( 5100lbs) and gave 4 door automatic numbers. 0-60 in 4.9 and 13.1 in the 1/4.

My old 1976 ford stepside runs 12.07 with a garage built 390 fe engine in it..with a 1.7 60 foot time and 110mph in the quarter..on pump gas

Ford made lighting in the 90s with the 5.8 liter which i thought was a pretty awesome truck.

I would have personally chosen the obs lightning. I do have one thing to argue though. the srt 10. I dont find the v10 to be exactly muscle per say but definantly deserves a spot on the list considering the out right speed these trucks can get to.

exactly we are only talking ahout out of the box potential there are plenty of trucks out there 100x more powerful...but this was more of a stock production/ reliability ....otherwise i would have thrown the little red dodge truck in there😈

I wanna race a viper truck with my cummins. Just to see how i would do.im about 50 hp less but im like 300 more ft lbs of torque. Should be fun.

Anyone else find it strange that of the 3 actual muscle trucks on the list, the slowest is number 1? I guess winning a drag race doesn't account for anything anymore! And as far as the extreme goes......lol they were birthing canals for all those bearded guys with manicures!

What you basing this on? Top HP rating? I think there are more deserving trucks than the Xtreme and I don't think the SRT10 should be number 1. There's the 454SS, which was underpowered but its still more of a muscle truck than an Xtreme. I agree with Wesley, what about the Lil Red Express or the El Camino 454SS? And what about the Ford Tumor and Raptor, the Silverado SS and the Shelby Dakota? Even Toyota had the X-runner and TRD Tundra. Personally, I think the Syclone should be at number one.

Apparently yanko made a 2018 800horsepower silverado. :D plus do not forget get the 740horsepower f150 Shelby. :)

I do like the svt vehicles great cars and trucks cobra mustang svt and 150 svt pick up.

I had a 94 Dakota single cab with the 318 and a 5 spd. Beat 4.3 chevys and r/t Dakota all the time. Also had a 04 joe gibbs Silverado 5.3 that was charged. Only got to race one lightning and beat'em and out ran my bros new, at the time, 05 mustang. The guy I knew with the srt10 was scared to race. Don't know how that would've turned out.

Different motor, different turbo, and awd. So, no it wasn't set up like the gnx

The 5.4 in the ford had a different motor it was a single overhead cam while the gt and Shelby gt500 were dual overhead cams

Lightning was the best one

The Xtreme was not offered until 99' I had one with the 4.3 5 speed.

The later 2nd generation Lightning’s had 380 horsepower. I think the 1999 and 2000 model year had 360 and then they bumped up to 380 hp after that.

03-06 SS Silverado> extreme s10. I'm sorry but you can't beat the sound of a 6.0 liter grumble. Plus naturally aspirated makes the same as induced. So just slap a blower or a turbo on that 6.0, and you'll make some serious horsepower.

The srt10 ram is a monster

The ford f150 lighting isnt really a detuned version of the ford gt and gt500 yes it does use the same 5.4 modular engine but it is a 2v while the gt and gt500 are a 4v

in 2009-12 you could get the GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado with a 5.3 V8 and the ZQ8 (sport) package. this is a very Rare combo, and way more deserving to be on the list than the S10 IMO.

I don't know where you got your times man...the srt 10 record for 0 to 60 was 4.9 seconds. 1/4 mile was low 13's. And the lightning...in 2003 the upped the hp to 380. It did 0 to 60 in 5.1-5.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in thé mid to high 13's...
