Yeah definately, as a huge fan of Ronnie James Dio i have heard countless bootleg recordings of him from different parts of his career and he sounds just as good on any of them as any official live recording. He also really was a live performer who really could pull it off live. I have seen him quite a few times live in person, the first time in 1987 at the Dream Evil tour, he was really still at his peak there and it was mindblowingly great. The Utrecht performance shown here with the song Dont talk to strangers is probably my favourite official live video, his singing is just over the top, the Munich 77 is fantastic to.

@@BreakfastKids Want to compare a vocal handler, a technically impeccable vocalist and voice control to Mariah Carey? Dio sang in high pitches for 50 years without having any vocal problems, even with overuse of the drive; Mariah only had 10 years of peak and from 2000 on she started to present many limitations, early out of tune and many vocal problems in her shows, she was a great singer but she never had a healthy vocal technique like Dio and in fact she was very far from it, and not to mention that you already show a serious lack of conviction about singing, from the moment you are comparing a female singer with a male singer, it doesn't make any sense here.

When you had Blackmore, Dio and Powell on stage together you were witnessing something very rare and very special and I can say that I saw them together about 6 times in concert. Nights that I shall never forget.

You are a lucky man. Born at the right time, during a special and unique era of rock. With bands like MC5, etc... Unfortunately, I was only 7. Missed it by just a hair. I did however get to see Dio 4 times, twice with Iommi. The lineup of Cozy Powell, Richey Blackmore, Jimmy Bain, and Ronnie James Dio will forever be one of the best, most magical combinations in all of Rock's storied history...

His voice was so soft at times and strong as a lightning at the same time

@@BreakfastKids I don't think, the tonal consistency, the technical and melodic capacity, the control and domain that Dio has is much superior; Within my parameters that I studied on vocal physiology, Dio is the best rock / metal vocalist of all time and next I would put Steve Perry and Chris Cornell.

There are no words to describe how unique this special man's voice is no one will ever compare. He was a gift that was given to all mankind if we have enough sense to listen .He now sits on the silver mountain hoping that the life learning messages he was wise enough to share with us are heeded. Although I know this is a Dio focused video it still feels like a sin cutting Blackmore when he's about to do a solo lol Dio was indeed a very special singer, very special voice and could always deliver a good performance even on a bad night. The guy was insanely good! Miss him a lot, certainly one of the best singers to ever walk this earth.

The top live performances was EVERY time I saw him.And I will never change my mind.

I wish I could have been there, and watched their faces at the shows they did in Munich.

Every performance was his best. Mistreated is amazing, I also love Stargazer and Gates of Babylon, both favorites of mine. Dio/Blackmore was a killer duo.

Good top 4 but Ronnie in Stargazer is absolutely the n°1 for me. Amazing performance in Munich '77 for all the band !

I was at the Dio concert in Utrecht, not included on the VHS/DVD was a short version of Stargazer / Starstruck and Man on the Silver Mountain. Great concert!

I remember seeing this Rainbow concert Live on (West-) German Television (WDR) Program was called "RockPalast".

Dio was class. Say what you want about Blackmore but he knew how to get great singers.

I just wanna say, thanks god, to let me share and live, at the same time with Ronnie james Dio, I've been surfing in a different voices like Ian Gillian ( great singer by the way), Dave coverdale ( untouchable), bruce dickinson ( second position after ronnie haha), but with Dio, everything was, it is, and will be for ever different. For me, Dio is the best singer of human history, but it's, just my opinion. live long rock and roll

I must say that in my opinion Dio's best live version of Don't talk to strangers is from Live in Japan 85 Super rock. But this live is as fucking epic. As long as it's Dio, it is art xDD But I think he really gives his all in that Japan live. And it must be one of the best performances ever from Dio. May he peacefully rule the hell.
