Imo (I've been playing since f2p so I'm not the best judge) but Imo a big tip for plat is to not always dodge into the ball for a shot/save. I see it all the time where someone is "matrixing" the ball and it's hugely avoidable. I never see anyone talk about this and a video on this would at least help me quite a bit as I've been plat since my first ranking matches and don't seem to be leaving it anytime soon. (New subber ty for the vids!)

More Tips: Do NOT hesitate! Either go or don’t You don’t always need 100 boost, 33 is fine (just pick up pads) Once you see your trail, you do not need to boost

@@zenthaa Boosting only affects your top speed after supersonic slightly,if you're going straight, so once that trail pops up boosting just for a little bit more is the way to go, not holding it I guess. Well maybe if you turn and still need the momentum then yeah it makes sense

An amazing tip which got me from gold 1 to plat 3 in 1s in a few weeks is learning how to put pressure on opponent without committing this means if they mess up u could have a goal or just ball control and allows u to make defending 10x easyier cos if u get it down right u it’s really frustrating for the opponent. For me I’m gold and low plat in other playlists so the only way I get scored on is fancy shots I can’t save and don’t usually see. The ability to do this turns u from regular gold to a plat 1s god

I used to be gold 1 early season 3. When season 3 ended, I was plat 2 in 2v2 and plat 1 in 1v1. The reason was that I focused on dribbling, power shots, and rotations.

The placements are broken. I won 7 matches of 1s out of 10 and got d2 whereas I was p2 last season but I was diamond 2 last season in 3s and got placed in diamond 1 this season after winning 9/10

@@5strs I feel like the only reason to learn air roll left/right is to learn advanced mechanics or to be more consistent with ones you have already learned. There are many pro players who still don’t use it all that much so it’s not really essential to learn, it’s more of a preference IMO. I also have 1850 hours in the game atm.

@@5strs Well you should always keep normal air roll along with a different bind for air roll left/right, and I honestly believe that you only need normal air roll to get to any level of play, it’s just that maybe if you’re around pro level you should consider adding it 🤣

Well, I’m plat and I can already do some of the diamond things so thanks for telling me what to work on! Also, when you want to get out of gold in 2s and 3s, find a team. I cannot stress enough how important it is to know what your teammate is doing. Most goals in gold come from overcommits and double commits so comms with your team will drastically reduce that, and help you rank up.

I've recently picked up the game after not playing for around 2 years.. Last known rank i had was the blue star rank before the gold/silver etc. Now i'm sitting at mid play 2 and supriced that i already used most of the tips in the video even though i've been inactive for so long :D!

Im Diamond 3 and I cant use fast aerials anymore even tho it was my favorite and most useful mechanic, my controller has drift so everytime i try to fast aerial i do a backflip or frontflip, but il get a controller soon hopefully and be able to get to champ 😅 thanks for the tips tho Helical! Keep it up 👍

Another great tip for Plats: Learn and use defensive rotations! When I solo queue ranked I rarely see it, but for some reason when I play tournaments (where I'm diamond) they're almost always used, and if they're not, we're quickly out of the tournament.
