I have no idea why "celebrities" are a thing at all. There are actors that create work i find interesting, as there are those that do drywall very well, or can figure out our laws. Everyone matters and does what they are educated to do. But do i care about what they're doing every day or who they f'ed? I love the fact that when these celebrities finally admit lying, they almost always include a justification for their lies ("I'm only human," "I felt a lot of pressure," etc). That sounds like more PR, not real contrition.

Everything she said was true, she just left out the exact nature of her medical intervention, which she has every right to do. She said she was dieting and exercising, and that was true. She said she had medical assistance, which was true. Leaving out private medical information is absolutely not the same thing as lying.

She could have just not spoken on it at all, rather than misleading everyone. You taking offense to what I’m saying is a little strange though. If you like her, you’re allowed to keep liking her. People make mistakes, she made a very human mistake, it’s not a big deal, although when it comes to celebs and health issues, it CAN cause damage to people who blindly follow their words, but that didn’t happen here. Just really weird to be so offended about this.

I really don't care one way or another about Star Jones, but if you ask people highly personal questions about their bodies, they do not owe you their medical information. Large people are aware that society is very hostile and dislike how their bodies are considered public property as a result. Besides, a lot of larger folks do not want to say if they have had gastric bypass because some judgey people consider it 'cheating' and doing it the 'easy way', (Never mind that anything that involves abdominal surgery, rearranging your innards, and significant lifestyle changes afterwards is hardly 'easy'.)

Interesting about Rebel Wilson, I never knew any of that. I was genuinely surprised at her recent accusations aimed at SBC as what she described seemed genuinely out of character for him, and Sacha - who I have a lot of time for - has _vociferously_ denied them and said there’s evidence that they are untrue (which will hopefully come to light). If Rebel has a proven history of making up ridiculous falsehoods then I’m even more torn over what to believe. The fact she has only now made these accusations whilst promoting her book, which she teases devotes an entire chapter to them, doesn’t make her look very good, imho.

To me that story smells of Rebel taking something simple out of context. I've seen Sacha being interviewed a few times. And it's also clear from his work, that he's a bit of a goof ball sometimes. Because let's face it, he's not blind. So he wasn't hitting on her.

It's crazy that people openly, blatantly lie all over the place this way when there is no reason to do it, plus the lies can readily be found out, leading to humiliation and shame.

What I hate most is when they say "I made a mistake." No you didn't. A mistake is using too much salt in a recipe because you misread it, or putting down the wrong answer on a math test because you didn't understand the equation. These celebs made deliberate decisions to deceive people. It's not a mistake, you meant to do it.
