Without even watching this video: #1 is Jackie Chan, in almost every movie he's ever made. *EDIT* Called it.

One of these "actors nearly die on set" lists needs to include Kurt Russell in Poseidon. That is still the most *haunting* death scene I've ever seen, He told the director, Wolfgang Petersen, essentially: "hey, I'm gonna drown for real, and it's up to you to know when to get me help." He did the scene a couple times, and on the take where Petersen had to send in the rescue divers with air, Kurt came to not knowing where he was. He remembers Petersen saying "Oh my god" and said to him: "Well, I guess we got it." I have yet to see this particular stunt included in any countdown lists.

They closed a whole wing of a hospital for Mr Chan. He really is treated like royalty in his home land

What about Pedro Pascal and his extreme back injury from carrying the entire Star Wars lore

A buddy who was an ex marine said drowning is actually better than being burned alive. Apparently he drowned a few times during marine training and they would just revive him. What a badass.

Jackie was the closest to dying out of most and still kept it going for decades to come. That's insane.

The movie where he almost died was Armour of God when he jumps on a tree and cracked his skull falling down. He still has a metal implant on his head to this day.

Too focused on Hollywood. Hong Kong action filmmaking especially during the 20th century was much more dangerous. Jackie was the craziest, but he was far from the only actor who almost died on set. For example, Michelle Yeoh suffered her worst injury in the movie The Stunt Woman (1996) where she fractured a vertebra and was in traction for a month after misjudging an 18-foot jump from a bridge onto a truck.

I heard of a different take on the Stallone/ Lungren incident on Rocky IV. I heard that while filming, Stallone thought that Lungren didn't pull his punches enough and tagged Dolph with a full blow. Lungren, being a professional kickboxer, didn't take too kindly to that and returned the favor, showing Sly how it's done.
