TOP 15 DANGEROUS LIGHTHOUSES

Ойын-сауық

Lighthouses have been around since the Pharaohs of Egypt, guiding ships through the choppy waters and letting them know of safe passage. Oftentimes these stone structures can prove to be in precarious locations. Subject to the powerful forces of nature and the might of the oceans waves, here are the top 15 most dangerous lighthouses.

Lighthouses are breathtakingly beautiful. I felt really sad when you said "if a lighthouse falls in a remote island will it make a sound?" well...I guess the heydays of lighthouses is officially over.

Thank you for this video. If Kereon is a very dangerous French lighthouse, it should be noted that the Ar-men '("the stone" or "the "rock" in the Breton language) lighthouse is just as dangerous. In the world of Breton lighthouses at sea, including Tevennec, Kéréon, la Vieille and la Jument, the Ar-Men lighthouse, located 6,2 miles from the Ile de Sein in Brittany, is one of the most "famous", because of its very isolated character from the continent, the considerable difficulties which its construction presented and the danger which there was to relieve its personnel. Considered an extremely trying place to work by the lighthouse keepers community, it has been nicknamed by them "Hell of the hells". The heavy swells during storms could shake the whole building and knock down everything that was hanging on the walls, making these periods particularly difficult for keepers and it was not uncommon during heavy weather. The last relief for Ar-Men took place on April 10, 1990. The last two lighthouse keepers on duty that day were hoisted from the lighthouse. The relief on Ar-men was always carried out by boat, only when the sea was calm. You can see an early example of the relief on Ar-men (very nice weather) here: this film (in French) was made during the 60': kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z66JxaiEfJq_qco.html Unless exceptionally favorable sea conditions, the boats responsible for supplies and relief never docked on Ar-Men. A back and forth was established between the lighthouse and the boat, then men and packages were hauled a few meters above the sea using a winch handled by two keepers located on the boat and on the platform at the foot of the tower. This technique required from the crew a lot of skill, knowledge of the sea and courage. This now automated lighthouse is in danger. Little maintained (once a year only), it is easy to imagine that a rogue wave higher than the others could one day make it wobble and fall in the ocean. Thank you for sharing

Año Nuevo isn't so much a home to sea lions, but rather elephant seals. Once nearly extinct from hunting, the population has re-colonized their old breeding grounds. For a species whose males can weigh up p 5000 pounds, they are surprisingly fast and aggressive.

I grew up on light stations in New Zealand. There was an international fraternity of keepers. I still have my father's Wandering Albatross pin. It is a flat lie to state that Eddystone can only be accessed by helicopter. Among the ones missed, how about "The Brothers" in NZ? Single men only, quarters built into the rock, semi-submerged for a good part of any year? My father did one tour there just before he met my mother. You also need to remember that tours of duty on most lights were, at the very least, months in duration, not daily as implied by this video. As usual, "Top Fives" is fudging the facts for more spectacular results.

Its an impossible list to comply but gives a flavour of the lighthouse story. The smalls lighthouse is possibly the most exposed lighthouse in the world with tje most gruesome story. Should be top three. Deportivo La Coruna lighthouse captures much more history than most of those put together. I could go on. A list that needs work.

At 05:06 # 11, Cape Romain lighthouse.. built with RED BRICK, because RED BRICKS, WERE USED AS BATTERIES, of which 4 or 5 bricks could hold enough power for an hour..They (RED BRICK BUILDINGS)ALL had Capacitors ON THE ROOF, THEY WERE ABLE TO TAKE and store electrical energy from an electrical field...in other words, taking electrical energy DIRECTLY FROM THE ATMOSPHERE, HARNESSING, TRANSFORMING & SAVING IT..!! CAPACITOR'S ON THE ROOF, with TRANSFORMERS & then, TRANSFORMING THE POWER, into usable energy...!!! Our generation,..?..we are nothing but sheep, ( through no fault of our own)..they realised they could build nuclear stations to supply power,..!! and after they Genocided the world, all the ppl who had this info were killed or dead, they began setting up the infrastructure for electrical evils..(lord of the AIR,..ring any bells..?)... diesel, petrol, gas, GPL..etc..NON of it was needed, but it wasn't the question..?!..the question was about getting rich from smthg that wasn't needed,..much like today's world...!! ANYWAY, Check it out BROTHERS & SISTERS.. ALL RED BRICKED BUILDINGS, WITH CAPASITORS ( SOME BUILDINGS STILL HAVE THEM ON THE ROOFTOPS..., AND SHEEP DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT..?! THEY THINK ITS FOR THE CENTRAL HEATING, or AIR CONDITIONER, or whatever..?. But they don't make the connection between truth and the 🐂💩... And here I am, still TRYING to get you wiser than you were, yesterday..!! But I have my work cut out for me.??!!....cos you bunch are so far gone, so pre-programmed, so far outta your tiny brains, that there is no room in there for the truth..and it's dismissed, ( IN 1967-9another CIA made-up word, phrase, is the "CONSPIRACY THEORIST"..when you hear this word, your pea sized brain cancelled it out instantly... because you were programmed to do just that...!! I hope I've made you curious enough to check what I've started to say..?!! The rest is on your head...do what you will with it...!! Trust in the LORD YASHUA..HE IS THE TRUTH, THE LIGHT ...THE WAY..!!🙏🙏😇

Because the earth's surface is curved, so the tower must have sufficient height, so that the light can be seen by ships at a distance, the general sight distance of 15-25 nautical miles; but the light should not be too high, so as not to be obscured by the high clouds. According to the size of the lighthouse and the location of the characteristics of the lighthouse can be guarded, can also be unguarded, important lighthouse should be guarded.
