Grand Blanc defeated Detroit Frederick Douglass by a score of 80-77 last night. The highly anticipated matchup between 4-star Pierre Brooks and top-50 sophomore Ty Rodgers lived up to its billing. Brooks finished with 29 points. For Frederick Douglass, senior Zavion McClendon added 23 points. For Grand Blanc, Rodgers started hot with 10 points in the first quarter. He missed the entire second quarter after turning an ankle. Returning in the second half, he finished with 20 points. Freshman point guard RJ Taylor stole the show however, finishing with 21 points. At one point, he rattled off three straight 3-pointers.
