Top 100 Martial Arts 3D Renders | Moving Meditations 3D Community Challenge
To support more montages, challenges and art breakdowns, consider becoming a Patron: / pwnisher
During August I challenged 3D artists to create their best work from a simple, barebones template file. Out of a record breaking 3,600 submissions in the last two weeks of August, only 2.7% made it to the Top 100. Scored by the incredibly talented musician, Feverkin, and motion captured by Lu Junchang, known for his work on Shang Chi, the Moving Meditations Top 100 montage takes the cake as my personal favorite.

@@alexanderdiessars4338 just to throw my own 2 cents - 100% go with Blender. Blender is also close enough to industry standard softwares that the transition won't be like starting a new software if you ever were to go professional (although more and more studios are seeing the power of Blender!). The other great part about Blender being free is there is a huge amount of good tutorials on KZread, which simply cannot be said for any other 3D software in my opinion. Not sure which part of 3D you're interested in but it can do everything from modelling to animation, and VFX to simulations, even visualising complex math if you know what you're doing!

Before this challenge, the last thing i did was Nodevember in 2020 i think. So if you use it on a more regular basis im sure you will improve way faster. On this piece in particular i think i took maybe somewhere around 60 hours, lots of which was tweaking the cloth simulaiton. 5:21 is my favorite. I love the passage of time shown and the Sakura tree blooming. Each and every render is amazing though. Unbelievable how much talent is out there. I love these render chanllenges.

You did a great job👍👍
I think the most impressive ones though are the ones with the most range of movement that are still very fluid, such as 7:09. (And the magic/technology ones, such as several after 4:03, and 5:27, and 9:03, and the ones at 5:45, 5:33, and 6:33! Gotta love those too for coolness factor alone!) Also... 5:21 *Sifu reference!* and even 5:09 _Abraham Lincoln: Vampire slayer reference!?_ These are all so incredibly good! MAD respect!

I love ones like these 4:27 that don't seem too straight on, adds a lot for me. Similarly with ones like 3:57 where the character themselves feels like they are moving through the world.
@dobleheil

3:57 is my favourite. Because it tells an original story, while also taking advantage of the movements in a situation that makes sense, just in seconds. IMO this is by far the most unique one.
Man, feverkin really tied these animations together with this song. The mix is totally insane and brings you through this animated journey seamlessly. Amazing work
it’s so fascinating to see how every artist created a completely unique world. it’s amazing to see where each of their eyes take us
1:15 feels right out of a pixar movie! crazy work Arman! also amazing how there's some storytelling in a simple 3 second clip.
Congrats to everyone who made the top100, but my favorite must be the one at 4:03 by Dmitriy Koveshnikov
Beautiful display of artistry by these amazing artists. This was very inspiring to watch.
Absolutely stunning work! Everyone's contributions were breathtaking. I've been working in the CG world for nearly 20 years. I am continuously and completely blown away by the talent, dedication and most importantly and often overlooked, HARD WORK that people put in to make art. It takes a tremendous amount of effort to not only come up with creative ideas, but deliver on them. Thank you for sharing your efforts with all of us! We are better off for it.
It seems like most of participants were not even aiming to win the challenge rather just exploring and enjoying the art. Which in my opinion is more than win. 10:53 minutes of most unique montage i have ever seen.
4:21 one of my favorites 8:09 very artistic

To all the artists that’s work is shown in this video, everything I saw was beautiful, I am incredibly grateful to have seen your work and am truly inspired by your creativity
The creativity is mindblowing. Three submissions in and NOTHING is similar besides the motion. This is the kind of thing that gets people into 3D and inspires those already in to create something new, or push further, or see things from new perspectives. Great stuff all around. EDIT: omg that Hole in the Wall submission was unexpected!
