My FLGS has a used game section but that's about as good as it gets. The sticker code lists blue stickered used games as games which are unplayed, unpunched and in some cases, still sealed (they can't technically sell it as new since it didn't come from their distributors). I managed to get an unopened copy of John Company Second Edition from them, saving myself the time and effort to buy a copy from the website since it's a tough game to find at a brick and mortar store in my very liberal town.

I keep my eyes on the 'damaged' sections of some board game sellers. Usually it means a box is slightly foxed in the corners or got slightly dented during shipping and the game itself is mint condition. Unless you are really bothered about the box being pristine you can get good deals.

Dominion and Catan are indeed the games that keep on giving. Both have more expansions than any other games I think?

A lot of people get too snobbish about Dominion and dismiss it. But it deserves a lot more respect!

Thought everyone had forgotten about Arcadia Quest - It is still my number one as my sons and I played through the base and expansion campaigns so many times. There's a really good homegrown variant on bgg. Gets rid of campaign and creates a game were you get treature,pve,pvp all in one game. Vending machine type recruit more heros while playing

I agree with being annoyed at some people, taking the theme too far like colonialism as you mentioned. It’s just a game. If someone was like, oh I don’t wanna play Maracaibo because, you know, the pirate thing I think I would be speechless. Funny enough they probably want to play A Feast for Odin lol Definitely gonna be checking out your channel more. It’s really funny and very relatable. Thank you for the laughs!

Dominion is still one of my most favorite games of all time

Great list and it made me remember that I still want to try Champions of Midgard. And have you ever tried the deck-building game Arctic Scavengers? The story, as I understand it, is that it came out at the same time as Dominion, but by a smaller publisher, and it got left behind as Dominion gained in popularity. But, Rio Grande ultimately bought it and put it out in the same box size and with the same insert as Dominion, and the version you can buy now has two expansions included (the first one is the only one I ever play with). It's obviously similar in many ways, but it also adds an interesting twist where you the other players can reserve cards so at the end of your turn you can fight the other players for resources. Can't wait for the top ten list!

I’ve really been enjoying Champions of Midgard. I think the Valhalla expansion is essential.

I love champions of Midgard. It was our first worker placement game that I purchased for our game group. Both expansions add the perfect content to improve the experience. I’m going to have to check out Arcadia quest. Great top 100 so far

Ark Nova changed the way scoring works. Basically where your pieces meet is 100 points and anything after all is a point per appeal. And each appeal you missed your maker by is minus 1 down from 100 score.

I’ve been enjoying Ascension the way you’ve been enjoying Dominion. The expansions definitely give it more life than when you play just the base game. I just wish the Ascension expansions were still in print. I’m always deal hunting for them on the secondary market.

I had two shots of my fav whisky to prepare...

We got bunch of the sets of heroscape that came out as magic the gatheting sets. Then we got lucky and found a tote full of landscape and a thrift store. We really like the magic the gathering ones. Never played prior sets

Phew! Managed to make it through this one without buying something. And aye its just known as Skull now, still nice enough artwork though

Another list idea - best games you can play with a poker deck or two... Skull, regicide, dutch blitz, etc Also like the cliffhanger for the next video coming up

I think im losing my mental health and sanity by watching these vids....these videos are bullshit yet very addictive at the same time... and i have to keep watching until the end...i really hope i dont die before the last one, it would be a shame, because it will the best board gaming video made by any human being in the universe ever, and as a hobbyist you just NEED to see it before you die. After that I can happily pass away or get taken to a loony bin..by the way a white jacket would suit you well Dr. Bollocks.. My relatives will sure take care of the invitations. Thank you!

I just learned this morning that Renegade games is bringing back heroscape, prepainted minis as well. I hope that they learned from the failed haslab crowdfunding experiment that there is a ceiling of what consumers are willing to pay. So maybe they have figured out a way to navigate the fine line between too expensive and poor quality.

Dominion for the variety

Dominion is a solid game and my wife's favorite. We have all expansions except the latest, but I'm sure we'll get that too. Is it excessive to have so many expansions? Yes. But I'm impressed that the end result as you play the game adjusts so well depending on the cards. Just a good game.

I really don't feel like renouncing my mormon tendencies. On a side note I can't wait for the top ten.

This list is warming up nicely. I agree that Champions of Midgard is a really good game in its own right if you look beyond that massive pile of dice that will cause Euro-lovers to have conniptions and break out in a sweat harder than Jimmy Tarbuck trying to parallel park in an empty street.

If you haven’t tried it, give it a”Bus” a go, it’s a worker placement game that actually came out before Caylus and is very simple, extremely cutthroat and a lot of fun!

Valhalla is probably essential (although the game is fine without it just better with) . Dark Mountains is a nice expansion but less essential.

At least you are not completely out of your fuckind mind as Brass shows up at least at this level even though it should be number one as it is on my list for various years and - yeah admitted, the rest of the game is good as well. Hohoho

I bought Brass: Birmingham off Steam for the PC to learn how to play and see if I would give it shelf space. I can`t get on with it and don`t see the attraction. I think I need to be taught by a Grandmaster. Still, it`s the ONLY game in the world to have my home town of Wolverhampton on it. So it can`t be all that bad.

Truth be told, this became one of very few boardgame channels worth watching. It seems like most went the preachy path of, as you said, discussing pains of colonialism, "difficult social themes", sensitivities, representation and all that bullshit - entirely losing from the sight that the market will regulate this. IF people want more "socially aware games" then they will buy them more often and there's going to be less "-ist, and -phobe" preferred games. It seems most channels these days suffer from soy poisoning. Screw them and their preachy tooting. Good game is a good game, even when you need to import some unwilling workers in its mechanics. And yeah, I watched that episode of SUSD as well ;) Dear me. They got so woke, they must not sleep at night at all. I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me subbing anyways, so I guess no hard feelings. Fad riders.

Ark Nova is trash mate lol. j/k, its ok. its a solid game, kind of goes too long and money gets bloated towards the end. so i just dont feel the hype. after about 10 games im pretty much over it. even the action selection thing isnt original, Warpgate is fun light little game that used it first. might find it in the bargain bucket, check it out. thats the great thing about the hobby. if i dont like your favorite games i can bugger off and play something else that i think is better.

Ah Ark nova, as innovative as a supermarket christmas playlist.😉 as ever with top 100s, it's a personal taste thing, so I'd never get worked up about it not aligning to my own tastes. It would be a grim and depressingly boring world if we all agreed on which games were 'worthy' of playing and which ones weren't.
