The fact that a Winnie the Pooh horror movie came out and it made money convinces me that being a director is one of the easiest jobs one can have

Meg 2 was a co-production with a Chinese studio and there were parts where the dialog was so bad that I honestly wonder if it was originally written in Chinese and simply translated with Google translate.

Spot on assessment of Avatar 2, Adam. Boredom, thy name is Avatar 2. I was honestly surprised that you didn’t like Leave The World Behind. They should have picked someone other than Julia Roberts for that role, as it was an odd fit.

Avatar is one that I didn't realize I flat out hated until a year later.

I hated Avatar 2 as well Adam, long boring and stupid, f**k that film. The Meg 2 felt like 3 movies put together that shouldn't have been. Leave The World Behind tried to tell something and yet explored jack shit!!!

The only Netflix movie that I can think of that was really good was "Kingdom: Ashin of the North." The film is a prequel to the hit series "Kingdom," which I argue is the show that "The Walking Dead" and "Game of Thrones" should have been after their four good seasons. It explores themes of power, greed, betrayal, and trauma, with an intelligent underlying message about how the path of revenge is a truly destructive one.

I am glad I am not the only one who despite Avatar 2. Yes, the visual was nice but it was 400 millions product. Like most Hollywood movies these days, all the money seems to spend on spectacle and not a script. Btw, the protagonist may be a hero but he was terrible parent, his children were doing what ever hell they wanted

I never saw the original Avatar, and I felt so weird about Avatar 2 because I was totally blown away by the visuals, but then totally bored with and disappointed in the story. I both love and hate it. Wouldn't want to watch it again, but I still feel like I'd recommend it just so people can experience the visuals (or if they've already seen the first one, maybe that's not really necessary).

Hmm, so many movies release every week, but when I look at the myriad of streaming services, including paid, I see obscure low budget movies, black this, black that, and the ever present Dick Van Dyke Show, Alfred Hitchcock, Godzilla junk, etc. I must be doing something wrong. 🤔

I really think Avatar trailers must hypnotize people or something. I have no idea how so many people went to see this when it is terrible. The first one was derivitive and bad too, but at least you could maybe say the effects were so ahead of its time and amazing people did not care? But how that translates to watching a sequel a decade late is beyond me.

2023 was really a buttom year for movies. There where far more bad movies then decent, less good movies. Top 5 are these followed by unranked...
