Idea for next (FINAL?) movie - “Indiana Jones - LEGACY” Premise: It’s a drizzly, overcast day and we start with a large crate being returned to the wax exhibits of Indy, Marcus etc. in the Museum (as in Raiders) - there’s one empty space. The crate is opened to reveal the statue of Helena Jaw/Feeble Wallet-Drain (could be the original - difficult to tell!). As it’s being placed back on its stand, someone mentions that it mysteriously disappeared one evening; no-one knows what happened to it or how it was returned. Still, no-one actually missed it. At all. A few days later there’s a family/school tour visiting and 2 of the kids (NOT precocious/dislikeable, instead average, reasonably smart) are rather taken with Indys statue - they having read up on his exploits. They notice the statue of Marcus is holding a drawing/image of the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol (yep, from the start of Raiders) and mention it’s a pity Indy never got to get it back from “That guy to took it”. One of them recalls bits of something (s)he once read about the Idol - “If you hold hands with heart that’s pure, your dearest wishes will endure”. So they hold hands with the Marcus statue and wish Indy had indeed recovered & displayed the Idol. The Marcus statue sheds one, small, unseen tear. That (stormy) night [natch], Marcus comes alive and meets ‘the Council’ - wax figurines who also have temporary life - they advise him there may - may - be a way to obtain the Idol - snag it, the clues are somewhere about the museum. GO FETCH, Marcus! Not so easy, considering Indy has said he once saw Marcus getting lost in his own museum - high jinx ensue. But NOT in ‘Night at the Museum’ style, rather something NEW and CREATIVE, involving some brainwork, dangers and IMAGINATION, Disney. Not to mention effective (but not overused) CGI - just enough for the story. Main movie happens, a few laughs/jumpscares along the way - final scene shows the Indy statue holding a replica of the Idol (OR IS IT THE ORIGINAL?????). Just brainchompin’.

After watching your comments, I think maybe I was far too forgiving with Indy 5. 😅 Having read all the spoilers, I found it much easier to take, and Mangold's production was quite masterful, considering all the rumored and obvious reshoots. But you had me rolling regarding the ...rolling stick of dynamite. Yes, I thought that was so bizarre that it didn't go off when she threw it at them, but they actually had plenty of time to fill Phoebe and Indy full of holes. And yes: bizarre editing, that they're immediately able to take off in the villain's boat. And, geez: Yes, it's so obvious that that ending was re-shot over something unfathomably worse...but that's right: that girl must have the punch of a 300 lb heavyweight champ, to put poor Indy in a coma for a week. 😂

Ford is playing about 10 years younger than his real age if Indy's birth year (1899) is still cannon. Maybe this would have been more fun if they'd stuck to Ford's real age and set it in the late 70s, he'd be all like "grr, I don't like disco!"

Nice of K.K. and Lucas Disney to ruin my childhood _and_ escapism with a life-imitates-art story of a man sad and lonely from divorce and losing his son.. only to be saved by the other younger (uglier) woman that no one in the family respects.

To be fair, the bad guys being everywhere at the right time is an inevitability of not just the Indy series, but the adventure genre as a whole. In any movie like this, you can guarantee that as soon as the heroes make some kind of major discovery, the bad guys show up and ambush them.

I think it's so crazy that studios seem to be afraid to expand universes and include new characters because they don't know if it can live up to the original, so instead they make shit like this using the original characters, and it's equally as bad - if not worse. At that point, what would be the real harm in having new characters? You could argue that people only show up for Harrison Ford, in which case I would say just replace him with someone like Bradley Cooper, or Brad Pitt I guess (or even like you said, Chris Pratt), and try to make an actual good movie - not only will you probably still get a decent box office, but people might actually give it good reviews!! Though they shouldn't straight-up *replace* him - they can just be a family member, or even a completely unrelated person within the same universe - or maybe not even within the same universe. Though I guess the idea here is that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be replacing him? If so, then great. Not sure why it needs to be a woman, but it could really be *anyone* I guess. It'd be interesting to have like... Idris Elba, or maybe Anthony Mackie or something, and you can have race play a part in it where he's fighting against racist people like the Nazis who have a sort of double-hatred for him.

11:17 Good point, they never said WHICH agency they worked for, or how Mads Mikkelsen's character got them over to his side (the ones he didn't have killed anyway). Like, that plotline worked better in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, with HYDRA infiltrating and growing within S.H.I.E.L.D. by way of Arnim Zola (played by a guy also in this movie). 18:05 It's super easy, barely an inconvenience! 19:39 - 20:56 THANK YOU for pointing out how hollow, token, and manipulative that was! And they replaced Mutt with Helena, who is even worse as a person! I think Mangold (director of LOGAN, the best movie I can't bring myself to watch a 2nd time) was a wrong choice to direct or write this one. At least with the 1st 4 movies, you could feel Lucas and Spielberg's thumbprints on them, because they used those to pay tribute to the movies they enjoyed as kids and that influenced them to make movies! The new one was missing that sense of FUN and EXCITEMENT!

Same McMuffin but have his goddaughter and the Dr(German) recruit Indy for his help to find it, have indy be the same fun loving guy but with his age being an obstacle for him but he won’t admit to it. At the end when they find it their true motives come out Indy wants to get his son, goddaughter her dad and dr German admits he is actually a naxi and wants to go back, have a rule where you can only travel once before the dial breaks and at some point have Indy die but goddaughter makes a choice to go back and save him instead of her dad cause they built a strong bond throughout the movie

However He was the main characters son. WW2 heroes whose children died in Vietnam was a real thing. The first story that come to mind was Jimmy Stewart's son. Stewart had been a pilot in WW2 and his son attempted to follow in those footsteps and got killed. You don't have to feel bad about Mutt's character, but it would be disingenuous of it didn't affect Indy.

Idk why they won’t just recast Indiana Jones like they do with James Bond every ten or so years.

It's dross, only made as Disney bought Lucasfilm and had to do something with Indiana Jones, so decided they needed a new Indiana Jones because Harrison Ford was too old, but needed Ford to be in the first one to pass the baton and validate the replacement. Sadly they made so many wrong choices after that... the new Indiana Jones was obnoxious and Smug, they decided this Indiana jones was female as Kathleed Kennedy is a Misandrist.... they're decision to kill Indy was dispised so had to have reshoots...things never made sense, was he shot in the heart or the arm......? The first 20 minnutes were designed to appease us before they killed him off......diabolical movie....

LOL, I just watched it, the only good things that I can say is that it's not a dumpster fire like The Last Jedi and I don't think wokeness was the big problem here but the movie was still really bad. I agree, too damn long and it's about 30 minutes longer than the 2nd longest Indy movie which is The Last Crusade and I always felt like The Last Crusade could've been 15 minutes shorter as much as I like that one. The new characters all suck and this is by far the most boring version of Indy. The director is talented and I love Logan but his style doesn't fit at all with this franchise. I always thought Crystal was watchable and I'll put it above Dial any day.

I disagree. I thought the movie was not only awful as far as Indiana Jones movies goes, it was just plain awful.

Saw Raiders in theater in 1981 as a teenager. Spectacular. Masterpiece. Sadly (for me) Indiana Jones 2-5 have all been mediocre at best with only lasting memory woefully being the refrigerator. In a few months when five is gone from my memory I'll rewatch Raiders for maybe the 40th time and smile. New to your channel Adam. Enjoy your videos. 😀
