Add fingerstyle guitar, even beginner learning at it! It’s helped getting through the vietnam war when i was stationed there for a year! The reason is because you can learn it and you don’t even need to have teacher because of KZread! Plus if you are even a loner you can learn solo guitar and record and set up a cheap recording process and really get thrilled. The guitar has really helped me get through most difficulties of life!!! And with all the different styles it can add SO much inspiration and positivity like the wonderful teacher expressed!!

When I reached 50 I became selective of people in my life , I left some negative ones behind. Few years prior I discovered my purpose and my calling one one of my trips to Tanzania. I’m supporting education for children with disabilities and planing on working there for some time . I fundraise money build school dormitory collect clothing and school supplies. Once a year I ship the contents and visit the school . I’m also a student on my fourth year of my study . I still don’t know how to play a musical instrument , something I would love to learn. Also, I would love to learn dancing and paint . I’m learning Kiswahili to be able to communicate with “my” children. I do it with child’s curiosity and what makes me happy. Life has a purpose and it is beautiful. In my family my grandma and now her daughter- my mom have dementia. I’m hoping to break the cycle .

All the good tips will matter only if you have a positive outlook on life. As the old song said " Look For The Silver Lining ". I have a fridge magnet that says, " Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it". I am 71 yrs old and I look forward to everyday. I plan on living to 107 years old. After that it's all bonus time. Be happy. Be well. Love yourself. : )

I have been reading a lot into expectations. Whether you should have high expectations - to be optimistic, expect things to go well; or low expectations - be pessimistic, expect things can get worse and be pleasantly surprised when they are better than you expected. I am leaning towards a mixture of both. Generally I would think it would be better to expect things to go well, while obviously being realistic. However if there is something you can't change and it's driving you nuts better to lower your expectations in my view. I love your phrase "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it". I'd add one more percentage to that - that's 100% true.
