I think many of the issues in this series were pretty well done. With one exception. Korra and Asami. I'm not knocking what the creators were attempting to do with those two. I just wish that some sort of resolution had occurred with Korra and Mako. Because I really wanted to see them back together at the end and I wish something had happened that showed that it was impossible for that to happen. That's all I'm saying.

Legend of Korra was definitely more mature and more darker than Avatar The Last Airbender but I love both shows.
When I first watched the first few episodes, I didn't really like how Korra seemed to be getting into so much trouble and dealing with misunderstandings. Yes, she's a teenager and it's ok for teens, especially role models like the Avatar, to make mistakes so everyone knows it's ok, but considering it was right at the beginning of the series I didn't get the best first impression. Aang was a troublemaker, but he was still a child. 112, yes, but he had been stuck in an ice burg for 100 years and didn't know what had happened to the world until Sokka and Katara showed him, and he realized he was the last of his people. He still joked around, but he was also able to mature and become a great leader. So, I decided to give LOK a second chance and realized how alike and just as incredible it was and fell in love.

People don’t seem to realize that Aang and Korra grew up differently. Korra was sheltered from the world at such a young age because she was discovered as the avatar at a young age which caused her to act out like. Aang wasn’t discovered as the avatar until much later and he had traveled and understood other nations since it was shown he had friends from the Fire and Earth nations

@@F4keFelipx Oh I completely agree, I also think because they were both kids when it’s discovered they’re the Avatar so they have to grow up faster than normal. @ExtremeMadnessX

@@F4keFelipx TLOK story is basically reverse ATLA, especially if you consider Book 2, 3 and 4 as separate story arc from Book 1( which was originally supposed to be self contained miniseries anyway). While Aang was prepared to fight world ending villain at the very end, Korra fight world ending villain at very beginning, and after that dealing with consequences and Changes, and again finding Balance for herself and the world. Basically to accept that it's all right that world peace and balance doesn't depend exclusively on her, other people are ready to help her.
You know, i ve always wanted a hero that became broken and that didnt quite get healed (or at least, not so soon). I've got my wish and i regret nothing
That's one of the reasons why the Avatar franchise is so popular, they're not afraid to talk about serious issues that plague our world. Even though The Legend of Korra wasn't as great as Avatar: The Last Airbender, it's still a gem in its own right.

The Legend of Korra is horrendously underrated and misunderstood show. Best way to watch is realizing that Book 1 is it's own more or less self contained miniseries, while Books 2, 3 and 4 made three part story arc (almost basically reverse ATLA story arc).

I’ve been waiting since. Plus the show turned 10 years old back in April. MsMojo should’ve put this video in April.
Kuvira becoming a dictator was an oversight on Zaheer's part. He couldn't have known that would happen if he went through with killing the Earth Queen, but it was still something he should have taken into consideration. Also, Kuvira is wrong. Korra wasn't the Avatar that everyone praised and held to a high regard. Her journey began with the world not needing the Avatar, or trying to move on from needing the Avatar, after going through 100 years with no Avatar around and the Fire Nation becoming power hungry until Avatar Aang and his friends defeated the Fire Lord, which led to Zuko becoming Fire Lord. Korra's journey went in the opposite direction of Aang's. He was needed as the Avatar but ran away from his responsibilities which led to the 100 year period of the Fire Nation's dominance, while she is trying to look for relevance as the Avatar after hearing stories about previous Avatars and their accomplishments. Both ended up where the other started from, forming a full circle.

Honestly I ain't gon lie as much as aang and the rest of the gaang went through a lot with the fire nation, korra had to deal with a lot more dangerous people then aang. One she had to deal with amon, who was able to get rid of bending with his extreme psychic bloodbending, and who was only an issue cause aang never killed yakone. Then deal with spirits which was caused by Wan closing the spirit portal, had to fight a civil war in the water tribe all over some bs between the north and south thats been going on for years ago which again was out of her control, and pretty much had to fight a dark avatar. Then deal with villains who could actually destroy nations if they wanted to all cause instead of being executed was only giving life in prison, had to deal with the villain leader who who's an anarchist, and was also drugged. Then has to deal with kuvira, who at first only wanted su yin to lead ba sing se, but su yin have some bs reason as to why she didn't want to.

190: Had a strong feeling that PTSD is going to be number one. Although Leonardo had the same thing but Korra had worse. Who can blame her?
Toph is right about one thing about Korra’s enemies: people like Amon(equality for all) Zaheer (freedom from corrupt/oppressive governments and monarchs) and Kuvira (having no leadership is a bad thing and stability to the Earth Kingdom is important )really think they are the heroes of their own stories. While they are right, Korra’s enemies are totally out of balance and they have taken their political ideologies way too far. They are not your typical baddies as Firelord Ozai or Azula. However, taking ideologies to extreme lengths is basically what happened to Firelord Sozin before and during the 100 year war.
Today I was just thinking if msmojo did this list
I love this video
I already wrote this but in a reply. I want to paste it here so it is more visible (even if this still is ignored) In regards to Korra and Asami's relationship: There was build up to it. To those who think there was no build up, my guess is they just weren't paying attention. Throughout the show we saw Korra and Asami growing closer, valuing each other's abilities and caring for each other. They went from strangers, to friends and confidants, to lovers. And it was well done. Their relationship really grew organically and not forced at all. To say they got together just in the end would be correct but only in the sense that yes, by going on a vacation together they are admiting/acknowledging that they want to be with the other. But that doesn't mean they just fell in love with each other. And the graphic novel Turf Wars expresses as such. It was between Books 3 and 4 that they realized they had feelings for each other. They just couldn't dedicate too much time to it because of Korra's recovery, Asami being busy with helping in the city and her farther in prison trying to reconnect with her, Korra having to deal with Kuvira's conqueror's streak, etc. There was too much going on around them to actually have the time to sit and talk about it. But that doesn't mean those feelings weren't there. Of course that would be the "in universe" explanation of what happened. But the "reality" explanation is that Bryan and Mike had to do their best to convey these two women falling in love with each other with the Nickelodeon executives pretty much breathing on their necks. Nickelodeon had already tried taking down the show for dumb reasons, Korra being a female protagonist being the biggest issue for them, which sucks. So of course Bryan and Mike couldn't possibly show two women talking explicitly about loving each other or kissing without the risk of Nickelodeon executives pulling the plug on them just like that. Also, in my personal opinion, I'm more than ok with the show not having Korra and Asami kiss at the end of the show because even if they've been friends for years, they were just starting a new relationship. Not everything has to be conveyed through a kiss on the lips and the ending is way more believable and endearing as it is. Them having their first kiss on their vacation in the Spirit World makes more sense (and the scene is really sweet).

The main problem with the anarchy theory is that no matter what people seek Structure in Chaos. Every time there will either a group or a single person to bring people together to lead them, for better or worse. It is a cycle repeated through history. Anarchy can rein, but only for a short time, eventually the masses will always look to something or someone higher to give them purpose and structure. Then it all falls apart because people get upset with their lot in the grand scheme, and it starts all over again.

I love how Indepth it was when talking about the LGBT in the world of avatar: - earth kingdon is complicated and a bit natural about this topic - fire nation is similar to earth kingdom until zozien made it homophobia and banned same sex relationships - while air nomads are very open about this topic which is why the 100 year world to them is so sad. - waterbender nation's did accept but to kept quiet for heritage and society purposes. It's kind of fascinating they put this in their own fiction world while putting the history of how same sex relationships in different countries change and react in different ways and slowly making way while still have difficulties along the way. So thank you writers for putting this topic while still making it inventive in their world.
About Korrasami, it isn't exactly what we should keep doing with LGBT rep but it was perfect, and here's why. First off Korra made history with this being the first cartoon of it's time to include a gay love relationship meaning that of course they weren't really allowed to show it or express it but it allowed for us to have shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe go running. And the buildup was gonna be sparse because of that but I honestly think it works perfectly, the show couldn't flesh out so many characters and its messy with it, but they did establish Korra and Asami building a bond which in return ended the show with it starting a relationship after Korra finally is in a place where she is mentally well enough to do so.

💛💛💛
The show had its flaws, but it was able to deal with issues like trauma, family estrangement and living in your parents shadow
You forgot regicide 💨👸🏼🚫
I was shipping Korra and Asami from the very beginning.
