When you sing you mostly rely on vowel-sounds. A lot of what makes french french are the consonants. It's actually particularly difficult to sing in French (technique-wise) cuz your consonants cause one to close up the throat. But vowel sounds are specifically meant to produce long clear sound. You mostly use vowels to sing and you often automatically change the closed consonants to open ones. So the distinct french consonants disappear. Does that make sense? :)

I'm gonna be honest with you here. It's not that impressive, so many countries learn English in school from a very young age (nowadays), and are exposed to so much English through music, tv, movies etc. It's almost just a disappointment or a rare thing that for example Americans or British people don't speak a second language more or less fluently :)

She was out of tune in several spots and had a lot of technical mistakes while reaching for notes and sustaining them - sure she can sing the song, but its one she practiced. how will she sing other songs?

She was the best of all those voices, a more educated voice, what those who are seated are looking for are singing styles, they are looking for singers without fluids of the natural sound of the voice. At present, the educated voice does not interest them, they do not understand it, they believe that it does not transmit emotions, for them to transmit emotions is to shriek. The girl was in tune, only the last treble had some problem at the end, but the rest was fine, she was the best of all.

The song was impressive, but her technique wasn't good. That's why they didn't turn. I've trained in Opera and hitting those high notes in the way she did is very unhealthy for your voice. Otherwise I'm sure they would've turned.

Cheyenna Dennison I love KESHA, like a lot. But that’s not true. That’s not why she doesn’t do it live. It’s because she’s worried she’ll mess up. She tried multiple times to hit it in the studio and only hit it after a certain amount of tries. She won’t do it live in case she doesn’t hit it properly.

After reading some of these comments about the people they thought were amazing I'm glad they aren't the judges. He did an amazing job, those notes weren't completely clean but they were still amazing. I'm on the same page as to why he doesn't have more comments. The tone deaf rule the zone apparently 🤷‍♀️

No, they were testing her vocal abilities by waiting for the tougher notes. I think this makes the process even more beautiful; being patient for the singer to hit a high note where their talent is most conspicuous.

It was so unforced and natural too! Sometimes I get peeved because Demi has a pretty voice but it can get very scream-y/forced runs with her because she's trying to sound more soulful then her voice actually is. 💁

Phantom girl was incredible. The judges just couldn’t figure out how to turn that voice into a POP or ROCK voice. Says more about the judges than about the singer.

Well, that's the thing tho, they aren't judges. They are coaches. Opera isn't their league and it's hard to coach opera as it is, and impossible if you don't have any idea. They'll end up ruining her. I remember Lea Salonga said before how she almost lost her voice before, good thing her coach helped her work through her voice.

i really love it when contestants bring their whole family and they are supportive asf

yeah i mean she slayed the notes but nit the emotion. And honestly there were a few notes that were kinda pitchy BUT she did definitely hit those high notes! Like i was shook haha. Maybe the coaches didnt know how they wouls coach that kind of voice.

The slight trill in “the whole room is spinning” is so beautiful, that is so much harder to do than it sounds

It seems the judges were not qualified to judge the girl who sang " The phantom of the opera" it was beautifully sung

If you "scream" it's way easier to hit high notes. That's why most people (even professional artists) sing loud/scream when they try to hit higher notes :)

1st - goose bumps all over, chills, literal chills! 2nd - amazing! I love this song 😍 3rd - goose bumps again, god these are great singers so far and omg the shoe! 4th - those vibes are woah! Chills, electrifying 5th - her voice has this ability to just sweep you up and in like so nice 6th - she did so well omg, how fast they all turned, she got a standing ovation! 7th - that voice throw, 😳 my man has got it 8th - got lost in her immediately 😳😍 Goosebumps and chills kept rising 🥰 9th - started high 😳 mad respect man ❤️ 10th - I felt this song and she just performed so perfectly 🥰😍

Because her performance was just kinda meh. Ok cool you can hit an E6. So can plenty of other people. That's the most impressive thing about the performance. Other than the high note, it was just boring. It was generic, not very interesting, and there wasn't really anything about her that stood out and they want things that are wild and different because those get ratings and that makes them money. Her audition was better for community theatre, not television.

Anyone else on a quarantine KZread binge hole? Al I remember is clicking on a video in the afternoon and suddenly it's dark outside...
