    The danger of sounding the opposite gender in a blind audition is that the judges may mistakenly see you as within the normal vocal range of that gender, thus not turning around for you.

    They don't act like they're gonna turn. They act like they like what they hear, and if the singer gives them a little bit more, they're gonna turn. They often can't make a decision based on the just the normal notes. E: Okay one just put his hand up like he was gonna press the button, that can be annoying

  • @saramijn14

    @saramijn14

    P0lkoli they do actually do that, the producers instruct judges to hover their hand over the button and stuff to make it more interesting to watch. We even had a judge quite over it because she didn’t like the fakeness of it.

    To all those confused on the first clip, Point 1: That's a crucial moment where the judges have already or nearly full slot and are looking for those quality voices. Point 2: It's not about the gender nor the genre of the music. Point 3: One of the judges is or somewhat well versed with opera and of course all of them have knowledge on it. The main point is, he needed more voice control. Shifting from head voice to chest voice without a flow or medium that blends them together sounds creaky. The tones were not on point rendering the quality of the music. He needs to practice more. Peace, no keyboard wars.

    The Queen of the Night arias from the Magic Flute are some of the toughest songs to sing for a soprano (specifically, a coloratura soprano). It’s really phenomenal for a man to attempt this. I agree with the comment that gender is irrelevant re: truly magnificent voice. It actually shows a greater range & skillset to perform repertoire written for the opposite gender. Great stuff! 💕

    I love when opera singers go on shows like this because they rarely get chosen, the judges have no idea what to do with them, none of them would know how to train a voice like that. Hell, most singers nowadays don't even get vocal training themselves until much later in their already substantial careers because they feel like they talent is 'slipping' or want to learn to do a whistle note or something of the like.

  • @qai8087

    @qai8087

    4 жыл бұрын

    Stacey Exactly!! The same thing goes for choosing a song for your audition, some people go for really mellow songs and while they can still can get chosen, you have a lower chance because the judges don’t have a chance to see your vocal range. That’s why songs that start of explosive often get really quick turns, if they can go that high then it’ll be safe to assume they’re able to do lower tones.

    I think the problem with The Voice is literally the name of the show. You have a perfect example in the first clip of someone who has an outstanding voice, yet no one turned. I get it. None of the coaches were qualified to coach this person on anything, but then you need to call the show "The Coach" or some other title. These people with these kinds of talents deserve some kind of recognition. Heck, the first one should've been signed a record deal or opera contract. If he didn't get one, then that's completely unjust (assuming the talented man wanted to seek that as a career). Absolutely phenomenal talent!

She was amazing. 6th: Because of the 5th person it became a bit easier to tell that it was a female. Some part of her higher notes gave it away for me. 7th: Really good performance. I agree with you so completely!!! I don't usually like it when anyone attempts to do this song, cuz it's usually not done well. This kid actually managed to do a really good job when he did it. Just kept it kinda low key, no vocal acrobatics, none of any of that. Just a REALLY well sung rendition of a beautiful song.

    In music, "not quite" getting there actually sounds pretty bad. What he did was undoubtedly impressive in its own right, but as a novelty, not an act. That last note in itself proved that he was overreaching. Mad respect for that voice, but perhaps he should've settled for something less ambitious, and *nail* that performance instead of, well, "not quite" nailing it.
