Star Wars is losing a lot of its appeal. Star Trek fucked it up with Discovery. Stargate luckily stayed Stargate. But I also love Farscape.

Yeah, in my opinion, Wars comes last, then Trek, then Gate in first place out of the three. The one thing i always tell people, in Wars and Trek they are still stuck in their own galaxy, in Gate they end up in not just our galaxy but at least 5 other galaxies if you count the Milky Way, Ida, Pegasus, the Ori galaxy, and the at least two galaxies they travel through during SGU. Gotta love that :) Plus Gate killed it with their alternate reality/universe stories for the most part, while only Trek has gone there, and if i'm not mistaken, with just the one alternative universe, the one they covered again in Discovery. And it's brilliant to see their technology grow from the scavenging they undertake in Gate through the seasons, makes you feel invested, watching something grow, not like the established tech of Trek and Wars that just kinda grew a little. In Gate we pretty much went from children to young adults technologically as the shows progressed.

The chills you get when you hear the airman say “chevron seven is... encoded?” Such a simple thing that really powerful when for the first time in a hundred episodes it changes.

I always wondered most: The Ancients cant be that arrogant that they supress all other races that ascend, right?!?! Make them bow to THEIR rules, right? Sure, they can for themselves decide they dont want to interfere, but they cant keep all other races in an non-action-hell, right??? What happens to other Races that reach the higher planes of Existence?!? If you get what i mean! This is my greatest question about this Franchise!! No kidding!

Damn it... why'd you have to bring those up... and no, I'm not tearing up... it's dust in my eye, I swear... I think the moment you finally find out it was Janet who died was probably the biggest swerve, and possibly most saddening moment of the franchise... because the way the episode goes, you're not expecting it to be her, at all.

Always loved the bit when Senator Kinsey tries to talk down to Thor by calling him commander only to have Thor raise a finger and say supreme commander. Or the moment when they're moving atlantis to escape the replicators, think they're in the clear only to have more bad news to which rodney just exclaims "oh come on"

Window of Opportunity... one of the best episodes. Never gets old.

SG-1 is the first and only show I would gladly watch my entire life.

Δημητρης Χ. Just curious how many times have you watched it? I didn't really care for it much when I was watching it my first time through because of how different it was from the previous two series. But I have now seen it though 5 times and I found that I enjoyed it so much more each time. Once I got over the fact that the main antagonist of the show was survival rather than an alien race the show grew on me in away that the other two didn't. The characters in Stargate Universe were so much more flawed than the characters from the previous two shows and it made for some great character drama and serious character interaction. Its a shame it ended when it did in my opinion because it seemed like by the end of season two the writers found a way to continue in the direction and tone they were going in while also capturing some of the magic that made me fall in love with SG1 and Atlantis. Highly recommend you give it another try with a different mind set like I did if you ever get some free time.

SidThaMunkay one Yes I have. I must say I am so happy to have new Stargate adventures back in my life again. However, while I will never be mad about more Stargate, I am still pretty undecided about Origins. My first experience with Stargate was the later seasons of SG1 when I was a teenager and that show made me fall in love with the franchise. While I don't dislike the movie I much prefer the world that the three series created and established. Thus far Stargate Origins seems to be following the movie continuity that was established pre-SG1. For example the back kawoosh when the gate activates. Stuff like that I am not a fan of. But its only been three episodes and I am more than excited for remaining 7. Hopefully this will result in new Stargate post Universe and Atlantis. If you get the chance you should go check out Joseph Mallozzi's twitter account, he was one of the main executive producers involved in the franchise. He tweeted a link to a Stargate poll for fans to participate for what looks like the purpose of showing MGM and channels like SYFY that there is enough interest in the franchise to merit green lighting a new series ran by the main people who created SG1, Atlantis and Universe.

Stargate is SciFi perfection.

One of my favourite sets of scenes is when Thor, Michael, and T’ealc revive Jack after he had been suspended for a while. That whole play with the lights, “T’ealc, what’s with the hair?”, and “Thor, you got any Aspirin?”, not to mention the name of the ship being the Daniel Jackson, still makes me laugh.

What about when the Ori came through the supergate and decimated everyone?

That is one of the saddest moments IMHO. Kinda glad it didn't make the list. Although Teal'c tricking one into the Whoosh of the supergate while The Deadalus destroyed a Wraith ship was pretty epic.

I feel like the Ori were interesting but alas not implemented as well as previous entries in the franchise.

Stargate SG-1 is my favorite show, literally ever and this is a great list. However, I think there needs to be a part 2 because there were a few big moments that weren't on here. Particularly there death of a certain Scotsman that broke all our hearts.

The crossover SG-1 and Atlantis episode, when they destroyed an Ori ship by killing a Wraith ship was my favorite episode

Missing the scene when the Ori warships enter the Milky Way through the Super Gate and confront the alliance fleet of Asgard, Human, and Jaffa. Otherwise, not bad.

Right now i am watching SG-1 series (third time), then Atlantis, and then Universe.. With Star Trek Voyager, these are the BEST series i have ever saw! So exciting and soooo funny! :D

Stargate is my all time favorite show for so many reasons, I miss it so much thankfully I have all the series to watch whenever I want.

A moment left off this list for me was when the Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis cast worked together in the episode “The Pegasus Project”... CARTER: You mean we just blew up an Ori ship? MCKAY: By destroying a Wraith ship… Team work, good guys beating bad guys, crossover episode... love it!

stargate was one of the greatest shows of my childhood and even now i am rewatching all episodes from SG1 and SGA atleast once a year

This is one of the greatest TV shows ever made. Definitely one of my favorites, I think I've watched all of it about 7 times up until now.

I owe all the seasons and will continue to watch them over and over again for the 15th time since I was 10. Am I addicted? Yes. Do I regret it? No.

I can't believe you didn't have Daniel meeting Ra. Even after all these years, it still has to be ONE of the most sinister, erotic moments ever. A massive highlight of the franchise. What about the Ashen AU arc? The Nox saving the Tollan? Some many moments from this franchise. Man, it's still incredible 😍

Saw this in recommended and had to look again I didn't believe it, watchmojo doing not only something actually interesting, but Stargate of all things!

The time loop montage is my all time favorite, especially when RDA draws the picture on the plate with ketchup and mustard. RDA FOREVER!!!

There really isn't a show in the world I'd rather rewatch over and over and over again than Stargate ♡

Still get chills from the battle of Antarctica, especially when the 302's initially engage the Death Gliders.

I"m a Star Trek Fan but i do swear I Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove all Stargate Shows ! Jack O'Neill (with double L as the other with one is note funny as once quote in an episode) is for me one of the best sci-fi character ^^ Rodney Mckay is also such a funny one ;)

I absolutely LOVE this show and all of its off shoots. I also love how the original cast from SG-1 show up in the other universes from time to time. I'm a little embarrassed to say I've binged all three shows several times through. So glad you put the episode when Teal'c and Ronan. That's definitely one of my favorites!! This show is awesome!! Another great episode is the one where the barber breaks into Jack O'neill's house with a fake gun after seeing all of Jack's memories!! Hilarious stuff. Thanks for airing this!!

Me too, not watched Stargate Universe, but SG1 and Atlantis are up there with Trek and Wars and no toxic fandom

I think the battle at the supergate is a great moment too, though it is a defeat it is cool seeing asgard, hatak ships and tauri ships engaging a threat together.

From the original movie when they first open the gate, "Jackson has identified the seventh symbol." That gave me a shiver when I saw it in the cinema.

Battle of the super gate and Destiny recharging in a star for the first time should have at least been honorable mentions.

Dying before watching all of the Stargate series is like dying a virgin. The Stargate series are the absolute best TV-series EVER!!

I have to say, that's one of the best top 10 lists I've ever seen. I've got to agree with it at least 7 of them maybe even 8. When I saw it I clicked on it just to see if you guys would reference O'Neill golfing into the Stargate, which is my favorite moment of the entire series. Well done

I would also include the Ronan, Tayla, and Shepphard wraith killing rampage montage of season 3 when on Sateda. The music and action that happened was heart pounding.

I miss Stargate so much. I'd love to see a new full series, one that wraps up Destiny and takes it in a new direction.

Can't disagree with you there. Economics sucks. Even SGA had potential to run for longer if they had not wrapped up that Replicator Elizabeth story line. They could have built a new city under water on another planet, replicator factions arise, complicated the galactic power politics, anything could have happened from there. Even the SGA battle of asura story shouldnt have ended that way. They could have heist the city itself and send it to the milky way galaxy allowing a new spin-off, SGC probably that would have significantly enhanced Tauri push towards the 5th race potential with new enemies from other galaxies. Wasted opportunities. Stargate has so much potential in many directions. Great franchise.

@@dejoy9872 The war with the Wraith has always been the main thing of SGA. I wish we could have seen the end of that. Now that the tau'ri has the awesome beam weapons that can cut through hive ships like warm butter. I think the Wraith would finally sees us as a major threat to their existence and not just a potential food source. The seasons after could have been a huge war and would have been amazing to watch.

Did i miss "duet" from Stargate atlantis? That was a great episode

OMG YES!!! I've been waiting for this for FOREVER!!

The Time Loop episode however led to one of the most emotional O'Neill scenes when SG1 confronts the man responsible for the loops who wasn't being malevolent, but trying to get more time with his deceased wife. Jack O'Neill: Listen to me I know what it's like. Malikai: You can't! Jack O'Neill: I LOST MY SON!... I KNOW!... AND AS MUCH AS I - I could NEVER relive that again! Could you?

Next, top 10 cliff hangers that need to be filled in any new stargate movie or series!!! Who were the last of the 4 great races in the asgard/atlantean alliance? Will the wraith make it to earth now that the atlantis team has left the pegasus galaxy to be completly consumed by the wraith fleets? Who were the aliens in destiny with the tech to just build an entire planet at the snap of a finger? Will the destiny cre make it back to earth and what of the alien hitchhikers who have been following it through galaxies? Will we ever see the moon base built with earths fleet ready to fight the wraith? Will the general human population ever be exposed finally to intergalactic travel? It was to early for stargate to end dam it!

Did you ever watch the series when it aired or just the video because the TV series answers some of these questions? The 4 great races were the Ancients, Knox, Asgard, and Furlings. All of whom were depicted in the series except the Furlings who we never met just the technology they left behind.

caitlin547 Have them all on dvd and besides the one episode where its that tv show the guy is making we never see the furlings, and i dont recall any of their tech being in the show. Mostly its the wraith questions that bug me. There are asgard still somewhere in pegasus and they flat out say they can’t beat the wraith and its only a matter of time until they’re found. Which means eventually they will find them and possibly get their intergalactic hyperdrive tech, or more advanced power sources. Or the wraith will find more ZPM’s since there are still some floating around the pegasus galaxy and make more super ships. Or find the replicators that have been dsabled and are floating in front of a random stargate that the wraith will probably use when they try to find new feeding grounds. And since they did deactivate the replicators the very first time they do know how to access and manipulate their memories and programming so they could just get the replicators to mass produce ZPM’s for them.

at this point there are three brand new episodes of Stargate Origins with weak stupid uninteresting characters, trying to retcon all three shows. and the episodes are about 10 minutes a piece. the new show does not even understand how car batteries and jumper cables work.

furling tech was seen in at least one episode. It was season 6 when O'neill and maybourn went offwrord and were transported to the planets moon. It was I think the only time the tech was mentioned. Unless you want to count the 200 episode where they fake met the furlings. (which was complete BS but funny)

#6 -Window of Opportunity - one of SG-1's best episodes, and definitely one my favorite parts.

Loved the episode in Atlantis - Sateda. You could just feel the pure rage, but respect and responsibility Ronin felt. Wished that last scene would have been a bit longer though.

The way that he swallowed his pride and instead prided himself in having friends to come to his rescue was great.

Stargate was and is a woefully underrated franchise. Even SGU became amazing by the end. I still don't understand how I've never run into a Stargate fan in the wild.

Stargate handled it's spin off's(and the entire franchise in general) amazing! The way they set up Atlantis is still so coo! I hope Brad gets to make his fourth series!

I love the SG universe so much, I would have trouble picking favorites, but the time loop is definitely in there. I also really love all the MacGyver jokes throughout the series.

Let's not forget the scene where they were all drinking guiness over oneill's house, got drunk and Dr Jackson was intrigued with how deep tealc is. Haha

Um... I think you missed kind of the biggest moment of Stargate. When Daniel figured out how to turn the damn thing on! Stargate (1994)? Ever heard of it?

How is the 2 parter Heroes where Dr. Frasier passes not on the list? While not action packed like most of these it was one of, if not the most emotional moment in all of SG-1. The acting is easily the best we see from Sam, Daniel and Hammond. A big omission for sure
