Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

So many spray guns on the market, this video was a bit of fun for me to make by listing my top 10 Spray Guns, it was actually a pretty easy list to put together.
So in this video I have included a small amount of video footage of each spray gun and a quick description explaining why it made the position, I hope you enjoy watching my Top 10 Spray Gun video and if you did be sure to share it with a friend.
If you would like to read the full list and a brief description including photos of each gun see my website through this link thegunman.net.au/

Hi Gunman, just wanted to say thank you for this video. I had been using only HVLP guns (mostly a DeVilbiss FLG4) for furniture finishing and was getting CONSTANT orange peel, no matter what. Based on your recommendation, I went and bought a Tekna Pro (slightly bigger version of the ProLite) with the TE20 aircap, and Oh My God, what a difference. Lays clear like glass. A bit more overspray, but what a finish. Thank you so much!

My shop has ran the FLG3&4, with my only complaint is that the 4 was less ergonomic, but dependable for every day use. We've upgraded to Techna Pro this year, and now use the FLG4 as sealer guns. The FLG 4 is a very versatile gun and a great value, but the Techna difference on performance and efficiency is like night and day. As far as setting my fan goes, i just adjust it until I have the sharpest crisp edge on the fan and then go. Keep up the good shootin''.

Still be the pro lite because of it's versatility, you can change the air cap and go from LVLP to Conventional to HVLP and it is absolutely perfect for refinishing, maybe the SATA 5K if I was doing Custom painting where they wanted dead flat every time.

I started painting cars approx. four months ago and I was using the Sharpe Finex FX3000 and struggling to apply a smooth base and a smooth clear. One car I painted had over 200 runs in my clear coat! Uggh. After watching this video, I purchased a new Devilbiss Tekna Prolite and it sprays awesome! I just finished my second vehicle with the Prolite and I absolutely love it. I am using the TE10 air cap with 1.3 tip, and the fan all the way out with two turns out on the fluid as you suggested. Settings for greatness. Thanks for the inspiration!

My options changed massively since I got a couple sata 5500 rps. I was a diehard devilbiss guy but my boss offered to buy a couple guns to help speed things up and I absolutely love them. They make mottling a thing of the past even on the toughest colors. I spray Spies water so it might be more sensitive to mottle but regardless compared to any of the other guns it's effortless with the sata.

Love your comments and advice on the guns, I'm plucking up courage to sort the oxidisation on our XK8 but first to clean up the leather interior I reckon a mini LPLV gun on a 0.8 nozzle might work better than an air brush for a full out the car 'refurb'. Time will tell !!!!

You must have it set up wrong bro because I'm telling Ya it don't matter what fuckin spray gun you've got man it's tha man on the end of it that gets a top bollocks finish! !! Look don't get me wrong like if you put up gunnys devilbiss Guildford up against let's say a £30 sealy, Yanno which guns gonna perform better. Listen 90% of spray painting is prep work dude. You get that rate and your on a winner. This assignment kid seems to know his stuff though. I'll give him that, I enjoy watching his videos. I'm a industrial sprayer I do a lot of window frames, cladding, ceilings, and the like. We have a lot of work for supermarkets tescos, asda, Morrisons the other ones as well M&S, waitrose, we sprayed some fireproofing in a riverisland last night. I enjoy it man & that's what it's all about there ain't nowt worse than having a job you don't like. I started off spraying trailers when I was 18.

Thanks gunman for taking the time for great reviews and instructional videos! I just bought the flg5 with a 1.4 tip strictly for solvent basecoat on your review. Currently using a sata nr 2000 for base and a sata 5000 rpm 1.3 for clear. originally had 1.4 on the 5000 but it was to much for my style and speed,1.3 works great. My question is what a good starting point would be for the flg5 for fluid control ,turns out from seated position, and psi? I will be mostly painting metallic basecoat using ppg/dbc or prospray at a 1:1 mix. Thanks again for your time. Keep up the great work!

Great vid. Every gun I use is on this list....but I would put them in a different order. My FLG is my sealer gun, Tekna for color, Supernova for clear. I know why you put the Tekna at #1, it is probably the most versatile gun ever built, and is the best base gun I have ever used. If I could only have one gun...it would be a Tekna. But the best clear gun, in my opinion, is the Supernova. Hands down.

I began spraying in the 1970's with DeVilbiss and Binks Model 7. When automotive paints moved to 2 stage systems it became advantageous to acquire a good hvlp for topcoats. There have been several guns that provided decent results, but my favorite gun is the Optima 800 1.4 was purchased around 1985 has been a great gun...never changed the fluid tip and needle showing no signs of excessive wear! Many years later...it is now time to replace the material cup, the original plastic cup is about done, will replace with a stainless steel, or aluminum cup soon.

I have a quick question with regards paint types. I an about to start the paint job on a classic mini, and am in a dilemma about whether or not to use 2K. I don't have access to an air fed mask. Is there a suitable filter system for 2K or am I resigned to using cellulose? many thanks George...

Great videos, I've learned quite a bit even after years or painting. Have you ever used an electric gun? Are they any good? I was thinking about buying one because I don't really have a proper compressor at home, figured an electric gun might do the trick but they seem to be pretty new tech and I'm very skeptical about it.

But Sata 4000 B RP should be Top 10. The DeVilbiss JGA should be there at 10 because the damn things wont die... Great Video... subbed

Never painted before, bought the GTI pro lite TE20 , did the whole motorcycle with it. Primer, base, and clear. All with pretty much the same settings. It turned out great. I love the gun but what do I know. Ive never used anything else. I have since bought a primer gun.

great vid Gunman I happily own number 3 on your list to think i own a gun that beats a SATA lol and i know why, i can buy 9 of these to 1 Sata 5000 in the end if youre a professional painter you will like a certain type of gun, an apprentice another , and a diy well the cheapest for the most part the FLG 5 meets the middle and its an awesome gun you can make money with and these days thats the important part. Thanks for the Great Videos this year Gunman cant wait for more from Thailand

When I first started working auto-body for my Dad in my early teens, the only paint guns that existed were siphon-feed Guns. Of course, phones still had curly "Q" cords attached to the wall and most people thought you were well to do if you had one the could make it to the living room from the kitchen and it had a number pad dial on the receiver so you call from whatever room you could get away to. Back then the only paint guns worth having were, Binks and DeVilbiss. I would use SK's, Blue Points and I.R.'s for primer, and lacquer primer was the only thing that even existed when I first started. I think it was the ass-end of the '80s / early '90s when 2K entered the world but every shop I ever worked for in those days used lacquer primer until it was completely taken over by 2Ks in the mid-'90s. The first 2k product I can remember is RM 2K clear (Wich claimed you could "Key job" it and it would self heal. The only drawback to it was a dent could not be blended or repaired. If a car got hit in a quarter panel you had to repaint everything attached to it, which usually meant both quarters, the roof and, God forbid if there was custom work under that clear!!!) and then Sikkens came along shortly after and totally screwed up the entire paint code world. DuPont finally caught up and it wasn't long after that Martin Senior went basement bargain pricing and dominated the industry in my neck of the woods. Probably the most advanced paint product in my early years was Imron and Centari. Anyway, DeVilbiss was my go-to-gun for clear coats. I do have a pair of Air- Gunnza AZ3's with 4 needles and cap setups and I can tell you that the 1.3 is an awesome clear coat gun, The 1.5 set- up is a great all arounder and the 1.7 lays the 2k and Epoxy Primers down so well it's actually a joy to spray primmer. For custom work and big airbrush projects, my mini-gun and probably my favorite gun I have right now is the Sata-Minijet 4! What an amazing toy that little rat is. With the fan setting in the cone position, I can make pencil size lines and with a little eye to hand practice I am wiping out rat tails, shading, you name it that gun is the most versatile piece on the rack. I gotta say though, I would never have thought in million years a paint gun would get as pricey as they do today. Seem's like Iwata is the culprit that destroyed the spray gun world with the cost and, really until I actually put a big Sata-Jet in my hand, I thought the whole conversation around spray guns, airbrushes, HVLP v. LPHV, atomization and, overspray v. paint contact was a friggin scam!! The idea of well-placed grommets, air chambers and, hand-polished needles being any different from what already existed was all Greek to me. Before the whole "Atomisation" revolution came along, the most modern, "Hi-Tech" paint gun I cant remember was a Sharp. I can remember the Snap-on guy bringing one into the shop and talking in up and shortly after that, the sales reps' started invading the place. Sharp's were different and they had a unique feel and they looked kinda cool but it ended up being a $75 primer gun because to me, the most reliable and smooth tool I had was my DeVilbiss' All of this to say, HOLY SHIT!! I am in love with that Eddie VanHallen "Frankenstein" design you got there!! If I would have had a gun like that growing up ...... Or even now for that matter! I gotta have it!! I'll be looking. Great vid man! Thanks for the post. Like I said I've been doing auto body and custom paint since I was 14, I'm in my early 50's now and I do everything in my power to not touch any project

Hey Gunman, I really love your videos!! It's very hard to find any reviews not sponsored by a manufacturer. I am a DIY guy in the US restoring a 1968 Mercury Cougar (black). I've decided to prep and paint the car myself but instead of using a $30 spray gun I've decided to invest in a professional-grade spray gun. You seem to really like Devilbiss and I've been looking for a used GTI Pro or GTI Pro Lite to use and then sell when I'm done. Since I'm spending so much on a gun I want one that can do primer, color and clear coat well. I'm also planning on using metallic paint. I will rent a 10cfm compressor for painting. Is the GTI Pro a good choice for me or would you recommend another?
