He’s kind of a jerk though, and so is Patrick and Mr Krabs. Pearl is annoying, Mrs Puff’s main trait is to be afraid of Spongebob, and although Plankton is a great character, he’s evil. Therefore either Spongebob or Sandy has to be the best character.

Squidward should have been number 1. He's the most normal person in the series. He may be somewhat secluded, and he may have a big ego. But he get's caught up in many bizarre situations either because of his selfish wants (to empress others), because of his ego, or because of his neighbors (SpongeBob & Patrick) or Mr. Krabs. Why I feel he should be number 1 is because of his very realistic reactions to those bizarre situations (the magic caunch episode when he go lost in the forest). He acts as a good foil to SpongeBob's innocent, selfless, happy-go-lucky nature. And foils out Patrick's often oblivious nature. He foils out to character at the same time, while having enough personally to make his own character unique. He's an anti-hero that deserves more than he's credited for.

#1 shouldve gone to Smitty Werbenjagermanjesen. HE WAS NUMBER 1

Avenue Teal In a Episode Mr.Krabs Gets a Hat For Spongebob that says #1 from a cemetery then everybody wants to have that hat

The first time I watched the episode "Shell of a Man" I thought they called Mr. Krabs "Armor Ass" You can't unhear that.

As odd as it sounds, Plankton should be number one. If Krabs hadn't kicked him to the curb when they were still friends, they would have been BFFs, and with Plankton's genius and Krabs' business acumen, the Krusty Chum Bucket would have been huge.

Fuck Pinhead Larry...he used to be funny, but now he's outrageously annoying. I'm glad they at least mentioned the "my leg" guy too. One of the funniest characters on the show.
