What I really love about "The secret to the formula is you" is how the main characters voice actors harmonize really well together, aswell as the fact that they're all speaking so highly of SpongeBob even Plankton is singing along

Honestly, I think the reason Best Day Ever is so popular is that it's basically SpongeBob's character theme song. it's about finding the best aspects of your life and making every day, even the cloudiest and most mundane, wonderful.

Gotta love how Atlantis Squarepantous is a musical special that had David Bowie guest staring, but NOT have him sing a single song in the whole thing. But given the songs they had in the lineup in this episode, that's probably a good thing.

Sweet Victory and This Grill Is Not A Home are both very powerful and emotional songs.

Every time I felt down or even had some suicidal thoughts, I would always listen to that song and it would immediately lift me up and have me bopping my head. And I still do this to this day. I like how the “secret to the formula is you” song, they actually animated SpongeBob putting his arms behind is back so he could grab Gary and then him walking out of stand with his arms behind his back trying to hide Gary with his face like, “I hope he doesn’t notice...” instead of him covering Gary and Gary instantly becoming a cardboard cut out. It’s the little thing I like.

I'm gonna be honest, I feel like 'Secret to the Formula' is a bit of a love letter from the cast and crew during the movie, because it feels like it's directed not only towards Spongebob, but Steven himself! Like how his impact of his show changed the world and people who watched it, because really the secret to the show's success was Steven :')

Funnily enough, while the main song of To Love a Krabby Patty is definitely annoying, the little ditty SpongeBob sings as the episode begins has been stuck in my head perpetually for over a decade. It's not even a full song yet I'll find myself humming it. As far as full songs that weren't on the list, pretty much anything from Hello Bikini Bottom is great. That episode was a shocker considering it was the final episode of one of the worst seasons yet was overall incredible. Never Give Up is the standout in my opinion, but any of the songs made for that episode are a good time. But yeah I know everyone else is saying it, This Grill is Not a Home really needed a spot. :(

I appreciate your choices for the 5 favorites. I’ve seen Sweet Victory, I’m a Goofy Goober Rock, This Grill Is Not a Home, Gary Come Home, and many more talked about a lot on people’s favorites, but I’ve never seen anyone talk about your 5 choices. It’s good to see some variety on a subject like this.

FINALLY, someone agrees with me!!! The very first christmas is the BEST spongebob song!

Years later and I am still waiting for Strider to talk more about sponge on the run. Maybe someday he will discuss it more.

I have a big soft spot for "the very first Christmas" it's fairly simple in lyrics and melody but it never fails to get me in a festive mood.

Watching SpongeBob brutally murder those clams after he adopted one in that one episode is pretty disturbing.

One really good song imo is 'The Musical Doodle'. It's not one of those get up out of your seat songs, but it is good enough to the point that I have been thinking about Spongebob singing it for YEARS now. It really is an earworm of a song, it even details that in it's lyrics!

I remember “Who Am I?” made me cry it was so good.

Geez, spongebob likes killing clams to save a krabby patty? My god. And also, there was an episode where spongebob and Patrick were letting a clam live in their home and adopting it before.

I feel like I’m so happy from season 1 should’ve had a place in the honorable mentions because in season 1, it was the upbeat song and was usually played on top of a funny animation of Spongebob making Krabby patties and although it wasn’t a song made for Spongebob, it was the first song in Spongebob and it fit so well. Thank you for reading my on-going sentence.

17:40- Nice to see this get the appreciation it deserves in a video. So often, I hear people trash the entire trial scene for being 'too schmaltzy', but this song was a major highlight.

I honestly enjoy the Idiot friends song cause it's wholesome and "idiot friends" is how I'd describe SpongeBob and Patrick's friendship as well as my own friendships :)

In my opinion, “Fueling the Bus” is supposed to be a “through-composed” song (aka, a song composed in distinct, contrasting sections that never repeat.) Examples of other songs composed in a similar form include Queen’s classic “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android”, and The Beatles’ “Happiness Is a Warm Gun”. However, the contrasting sections of these songs were composed in a cohesive manner. The problem with “Fueling the Bus”, on the other hand, is that it goes through 6 sections in its 87-second runtime. None of these 6 sections are cohesive at all: whereas the three songs I previously mentioned smoothly move from section to section, “Fueling the Bus” stumbles and tumbles from section to section until it comes to an abrupt end in Patrick’s verse. Honestly, I think the song needs to be longer (preferably between two to four minutes in length) in order for make these six sections cohesive.

Convenient timing that Nickelodeon placed the Best Day Ever marathon shortly before Thanksgiving in 2006 just so the kids could annoy their relatives while eating dinner

"This Christmas Feels Like the Very First Christmas to Me" and in fact that entire episode, is underrated.

I actually have so much nostalgia for “Now That We’re Men” I loved matching around in my living room while this song played. I was a bit scared of the scenes with the monsters but once “Now That We’re Men” popped up, I was really happy and calm! This is probably the best part of the movie in my opinion and my favorite Spongebob song!

It’s also the meaning behind ‘the secret to the formula’ that makes it just as amazing as it already is. All the characters come together to tell SpongeBob that he’s the whole reason the Krusty Krab is a success. He’s *literally* the secret to the formula.

I still prefer the Best Day Ever song from the Spongebob movie soundtrack.

Fun fact: Best Day Ever didn't originate from the episode itself it actually originated from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie during the credits specifically near the end of it which might explain why it sounds so good and why it sounds so bittersweet to hear as it was made with it being the end of SpongeBob in mind

The worst part about the songs in Atlantis Squarepantis is that David Bowie didn’t Ben sing one song dispute being in the whole episode where practically all the characters got a song

Not only that but I heard Atlantis Squarepantis was really just a musical and not really a spongebob episode.

You know that Spongebob did a wrongdoing when David Bowie, a musical legend, doesn't get his own song in Atlantis Squarepantis.

"A Day Like This," the opening song to "Truth or Square" is my personal favorite. I'm surprised it didn't make the list even as an honorable mention
