Michael Dillon you are right to say SpongeBob is a borned victim from his surroundings. He has no back bones...a real sponge! But Mr. Krabs, Squidward and Sandy are not as close to SpongeBob than his moronic friend Patrick. Yes but in the episode of the Wringer, the Residents practically had a go at spongebob for yelling at Patrick. The messed up thing was that they never even asked Spongebob what happened? They assumed because all Patrick said was the lines of "I was only trying to help"

The residents also have beaten up an old person TWICE, destroyed their town over a lack of krabby patties(which would've led to both a social & ecological collapse if it weren't for the time machine), went head first into mass hysteria over a myth about Mad Snail Disease to the point of acting like zombies, and made fun of Spongebob for getting a kiss from his own grandmother. Sometimes, Bikini Bottom literally shows its true colors as a degenerate town of subhumans who have a damaged sense of morality.

In one episode Squidward gets SpongeBob's diary and Patrick joins to read it, Sandy would be a better friend, in fact a true friend

I gotta say, at the very worst, like in Season 7, let alone A Pal for Gary, Patrick Star actually was smart compared to SpongeBob Squarepants. Very dumb in general like he existed to be, but the level of intelligence SpongeBob had there was at a highly criminal level where he was on Puffy Fluffy's side over Gary's.

Top Ten Reasons why Patrick has pros and Cons: Cons: well the video explains it already Pros: -Helped Spongebob take King Neptune’s crown back (even though he made it worse by lessening the days) -Supported Spongebob when he thought he would become manager and yelled out “Hurray for Spongebob!!” -Tried his best to help find Gary when he ran away from Spongebob (he sees him but due to his stupidity, he probably did not notice) -Made Spongebob a new net when he lost his -Shared his donut with Spongebob -There were some episodes where Spongebob was crying and Patrick cried too, not knowing why Spongebob is crying -Was the one concerned for Spongebob in the Sponge out of water movie when Spongebob got down and then Patrick rushed to him and Spongebob saw the light (the sun) -Y’all remember when He and Spongebob both wore those Best friend shirts with the arrows on them, and how Patrick cried when spongebob accidentally made his shirt point to someone else? What about that time when Patrick really tempted SpongeBob to find out what he stashes in a box as a secret, but doesn’t allow him to really see it, and when he sneaks out to steal the box, he finishes his friendship with him? And eventually the “big secret” turned out to be an embarrassing photo of SpongeBob on Easter. Another example of torturing mind games that Patrick pulls on SpongeBob, and why SpongeBob should end with this guy his friendship.

If Patrick was real he would have been killed by now as no one would put with the crap he does on a daily basis 😂

You could argue that Pearl, Sandy, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and even Plankton treat Spongebob better than Patrick; it’s quite ironic considering that he’s supposed to be Spongebob’s “best friend” and all.

While it looked like a hangover, the movie on NickToons standards didn't feature Spongebob and Patrick getting drunk on alcohol. They instead ate too much ice cream and ended up getting a horrible case of brain freeze.

Even in the Hooky episode, not only did Patrick lie about going to the Carnival,he also told spongebob to go play on the Fish Hooks and to not go to work causing Spongebob to be humiliated in front of Pearl and her friends. Spongebob and Patrick made a promise to Mr. Krab not to go near the hooks but Patrick was the one who didn’t keep the promise. Oh! What about The battle of bikini bottom episode.He’s shown to be unhygienic and musty. Since he like being dirty while Spongebob like being clean.

As a kid I also hated of how disobedient Patrick was and how Mr. Krabs just left SpongeBob to die at the end in that episode...

I remember so many times I thought one of my friends wasn’t a good friend, but, at least they care, and that’s all that matters. UPDATE: turns out she she never did, and we aren’t friends anymore, me and Spongebob both seem to have a habit of only seeing the good in people, or trying to see the good in people, and ignoring the things that are really happening, like how toxic people can really be, I stopped being friends with her in November 2020.

To be honest, I actually ended 3 friendships in the same day. It was easy for me because when my "friends" betray my trust or use my worst fear against me, I no longer consider them my friends. I actually had my ex-friends cyber bully me on Facebook by spamming me in messenger with pictures of clowns when they know that I'm terrified of them.

Spongebob loves work at krusty krab so much Squidward will quit his job when his dreams come true (musician, star and famous,) (also squid ward CAN quit job and to other restaurant but theres no reasons (i hope) )

Spongebob's Close Relationship with other characters. 1. Spongebob & Patrick's Relationship: Patrick has been Spongebob's best friend since they could remember. They've had their ups and downs, but had good memories. I'm gonna be real when I say this, Patrick has been a horrible friend to Spongebob. Spongebob is usually blinded by his optimism or self-esteem to see this, though rarely he is aware of it. I still see good things in their friendship. Both need more episodes focused on the two of them together alongside Gary & Sandy. 2. Spongebob & Sandy's Relationship: When Spongebob met Sandy, I knew they were going to become best friends. Sandy cares for Spongebob much like her own and knows how to help him, even when Spongebob does the wrong thing, Sandy always forgives him and Spongebob learns from his mistakes. I ship these two. Sandy also needs to appear more in the series and have more episodes focused on her. Do I even have to list all the stuff they both have in common? 3. Spongebob & Gary's Relationship: Spongebob will go to depths of shell city for Gary. He loves him as his best friend and as a pet owner should. Gary sometimes act as a voice of reason or gives advice to Spongebob. He can be a bit snarky or cynic sometimes but they love each other very much. Gary needs to appear a lot more in the series and have more episodes focused on him or told from his perspective. They had their ups and downs, but I see great things moving forward. 4. Spongebob & Mr. Krabs' Relationship: Spongebob & Mr. Krabs' friendship is most relatively positive. On the real Mr. Krabs usually uses Spongebob for his personal gain, to which Spongebob is rarely oblivious by his loyalty and determination however you put it. Spongebob has often stood up to Mr. Krabs, even calling him out as a cheapskate and his greed for money. Nonetheless, the two get along great, and I see great things. 5. Spongebob & Squidward's Relationship: Squidward straight up hates Spongebob. Spongebob is oblivious due to his optimistic and cheerful nature. One the real Squidward has been a terrible "friend" to Spongebob. Spongebob has rarely gotten angry or slightly irritated by him and on countless times dosen't listen to him. Spongebob should straight up whup him with his karate. Although, they seem to be okay at times, I see good things with their friendship. 6. Spongebob & Plankton's Relationship: Although Spongebob and Plankton can be pretty solid or stoic sometimes, I see good things coming out of their friendship/rivalry. Spongebob also decently gets along with Karen too. 7. Spongebob & Mrs. Puff's Relationship: Although, Mrs. Puff sometimes "despises" Spongebob sometimes, she cares for him deeply just like any mother would. Mrs. Puff doesn't hate Spongebob, she just wants him to graduate her boating school so she could stop teaching. Spongebob values Mrs. Puff as his teacher and a friend. They both seem to lean towards positive and I hope good things. Mrs. Puff needs to appear more in the series and have more episodes focused on her. 8. Spongebob & Pearl's Relationship: Spongebob and Pearl pretty much get along well as friends. Pearl needs to appear more and have more episodes focused on her. 9. Spongebob & Larry's Relationship: Larry treats Spongebob like a little brother. Spongebob sometimes looks up to Larry and the two are great friends. Larry needs to appear more and have more episodes focused on him. 10. Spongebob & Spat's Relationship: Spongebob always uses his spatula for fry cooking. He is almost never seen without it, and he values it. 11. Spongebob & Mindy's Relationship: Mindy was the first and only one to believe that he and Patrick had potential and a gift at heart to save Bikini Bottom and get her dad's crown back from Shell City. With optimism of her own and a gift at heart, she showed Spongebob & Patrick that it doesn't matter whether you're a kid or not. And that it doesn't always take "a man" to be a hero. (Scarlett Johansson did a good job voicing her. I loved her character and personality overall). She needs to make a grand reappearance in the series and have episodes focused on her. 12. Spongebob & Jellyfish's Relationship: Spongebob has very close fondness for Jellyfish. Jellyfish can either act out as enemies or good sports, especially when Spongebob and Patrick go jellyfishing. 13. Spongebob & Ol' Reliable's Relationship: Spongebob loves ol' reliable like his own. He values his net just like his spatula. 14. Spongebob & Other Nickelodeon Characters: Spongebob gets along with most of the Nick Lineup. He gets along well with Timmy Turner, Jimmy Neutron, & Danny Phantom, and the Loud characters. And you know what they say, it's the people you care about, who hurts you the most.

Remember in that one episode when him and Spongebob were delivering that pizza to the customer, he was a complete jerk when he got it and even made Spongebob cry. Squidward then very literally took the pizza and slammed it in the dude's face. There is definitely a side of Squidward that genuinely cares about Spongebob.

Number 8: Insulted and embarrassed him in front of COMPLETE strangers.... At the end of the episode his 'parents' aren't his parents and then we see his REAL parents.... So he embarrassed him in front of strangers cause he's so stupid he doesn't know his own parents! So eight in my opinion should be down/up in the list cause those starfish aren't even his parents at all so eight is worse in my opinion if you consider the ending of the episode.

Even Squidward was a better friend! Edit: Can you maybe make a list about how Squidward is a better friend than Patrick? There's actually some pretty good material to work with.

He saved SpongeBob's life from a truck Squidward saved him he stuck up with that customer and made him feel better

Capstone his song to that guy he stood up to Mr crimes whenever SpongeBob beside him he tried to make him feel better when he feels bad

I told you. While it’s only a cartoon, SpongeBob is better off with Sandy. When SpongeBob got laughed at by the people at the Krusty Krab for getting kissed by his grandma, Patrick told him not to get love from his grandma and then went the full 180 and stole his grandma and never actually did anything to stick up for him. Sandy would’ve actually confronted those people.
