Immersion is one thing; but “A Quiet Place” definitely takes it to another level. It’s like they say in the video: as soon as the film starts, you’re plunged into “an unrelenting state of anxiety.”

It's definitely an horror...huge terrifying monsters, plenty of scare jumps, darkness and silence...there is no gore or bloody scene but there are lots of horror with very few deaths (or even no one)

It's a mix of a psychological horror and a thriller it has that dark goes into your mind and stays there aspect of a horror movie the focus is more on the psychological aspect how it feels to be in a world overrun by these things that feeds into the Thriller aspect of it always keeps you on your seat not knowing when one of these things is going to come out and kill somebody

That's an understatement! Films like this, you don't merely watch; you experience it! And the birthing scene made my heart stop when she couldn't hold back any more. I don't think I've ever felt so strongly toward characters of a story like this film did to me!

dodgers doon1130 this movie is garbage, how did the aliens arrive on earth? How did they manage to kill everyone? Sure they have armor but we have miniguns, tnt, grenades, rocket launchers, the movie never shows how they managed to get here, why? Because if they are so sophisticated as to have interstellar travel how then can they only hunt by sound? They couldn’t navigate let alone build and operate machinery, it’s garbage, complete garbage.

@@ianalvarez8026 it made me go awwwe in pain because I've stepped on nails like that But it wasn't the stepping on the nail that was scary or what they are referring to at least it's the talking to keep quiet knowing that those creatures are near and just knowing the littlest noise could spell certain death

I watched this movie a couple months ago and i honestly loved it. The only part that i didn't get was the fact that they had a baby. Now, I know that its basically the end of the world and they need to repopulate, but as they said in the video and based on what we know from the movie, babies crying = death. I know they had that box thing but still. It's Dumb. Raising a baby in this setting is almost certainly a death sentence for the parents, baby, or possibly the siblings. On another note, that goddamn bridge scene made my heart stop as soon as the electronic Sci-Fi space sounds started playing.

First: the noise of constructing a HOUSE is dangerous Second:THEY LIVE IN A FARM...you know...with food/shelter Third: there's to many ridges and not enough flat area Fourth: if they did record the sound of the waterfall...it'll be impractical to maintain speakers Fifth: (this relates to the 1st reason) they wouldn't be able to make a HOUSE without attracting unwanted attention....plus the mom is pregnant ssooo she wouldn't really be much help

I'm surprised at all the positive comments about this movie. After I seen this the first week at the movies most of the comments I heard were negative. People dissecting it and complaining about what if they fart, sneeze, cough ect. Or why didn't the government figure out about the high frequency.....blah blah blah. I thought there'd be more of that here. Glad it wasn't for a change.

This has been one of the greatest movies to come out in the past few years. The atmosphere is incredible. And, personally, I love the opening of the movie. Unlike most movies, or tv shows, it shows right off the bat no one is safe. Not even little kids. The blend between beautiful scenes, and then spine shivering music and scenes works so well, it makes it basically a masterpiece. I can’t wait for Part 2!

This WHOLE movie was scary. I love it so much.

I don't do horror, yet this is still my favorite film of all time. (Probably cause I am so loyal to John Krasinski) I have to say there really aren't any scary scenes, there are TENSE scenes for sure.

Nightmare Files aliens with freaking impenetrable armor, really fast, really strong and scary looking with sharp teeth

It's the oldest son. Apparently he was very sick in the beginning of the movie. That's why he was sitting on the floor behind the counter & also why the father was carrying him on the bridge.

I'm not generally a fan of Horror movies, and rarely go out of my way to see them. My friend wanted to watch this (and Annihilation as well, very cool), and It was definitely a great one. Pretty interesting idea, works quite well.

I had the EXACT same reaction as the characters in the lantern scene, and that's when I knew this film was a masterpiece

You can sum this movie up in one sentence: If you are stuck sitting in a basement for 2 years and notice a large nail sticking out of a stair, you should probably fix the nail. Another way: Don't have noisy babies 2 years after monsters that only sense sound arrive, as it'll probably cause you problems. Decent movie but I had a hard time sympathizing with such extreme stupidity.

For the first point: The Mom was walking up the stairs and her dress gets caught in the nail and it lifts it up. So it hasn’t been there for two years, probably it’s only been there for an hour or two. Also, they need to have humanity saved and have more kids. So yah your wrong

@@Hi-uv7nn it's always a good sign when you have to invent your own story to force yourself to believe things make sense in a movie...the nail was there for minutes, hey? Bent down in the middle of a stair? Did the rice bag put it there, hammer it in, bend it then catch itself on it? That's a really magical rice bag. Here's another thing: what could possibly require a nail to be hammered into the middle of the flat area of a stair? Nothing. That rice bag shouldn't have nailed it there, magical or not.

@@soundwave5410 that bent nail, hammered from underneath the stair , was there for minutes. Right? Within these alleged minutes, that pregnant lady bent down under the stairs, loudly hammered it in. After this, she went to the other side of the stairs, bent the other side of this (overly long, why so long? Reasons) nail down with the other side of the hammer. After this, she walked over, grabbed a bag of rice to walk up the stairs to step over that nail. The bag caught the nail, bent it back (ruining her hard, and risky loud work from minutes earlier). Then she walked back and stepped on it. Gotcha. Thanks for helping me clear that up. There's no possible way that nail could have been there for years. What was I thinking. Phew, thanks again.

Me: This is terrifying, oh well nothing worse then this could ever happen to me in real life. *school bell rings* Me: oh well. Wait I have math next period NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The nail was more painful than watching a character die. My family and I were dreading the whole scene.

It’s like the whole entire place is a killing library XD

The death of the little boy made me bawl. I had to remind myself it’s only a movie. Doesn’t really make it easier though 😭

Plot twist: The entire movie is set on a library. It’s just a kid’s imagination on their library and the aliens are just the librarians kicking out the kids who made noise.

The part where they’re at the store and you see all the “missing” posters is so scary, it shows the first poor people who lost their lives to the monsters

Lee screams Everyone *JUST THROW THE AXE*

Son: *about to sneeze* Dad: *signs not to sneeze* Son: ac-hu (quiet) A thousand miles away Monster 1: Hey Joe I just heard a kid? WELP I GUESS ILL SEE YOU LATER JUST GOTTA MAKE A CHILD INTO PAPER he... 😅

Honestly when the old man showed up was the scariest part imo.. My heart dropped when that dude stood up in the background.

The monsters face looks like riot from venom but with no eyes. I subbed today 😀😀😀

a quiet place: cant talk Bird box: cant see both: YOU ARE SCREWED

it is a wonderful movie. Best of 2018 so far. Actors did a wonderful job, as acting without voice, and just with facial expressions is a next level. And they did it in such a high quality. Lee sacrifice and loud scream in a bathtub gave me emotional goosebumps, and i watched those scenes for like 10 times already. Great, just great movie. More like this please.

Bro i started crying so hard when the dad got killed and I never cry during horror movies there not even scary but this one is just emotionally amazing it brings out a lot of rare sides of me

so glad I saw this when it first came out🤭
