Wow that's weird because I was JUST thinking of the movie Stuart Little as I was scrolling through the comments and I didn't know M. Night had anything to do with it. The reason I was thinking of Stuart Little was because back in the day me and 4 friends went to see the Sixth Sense but we were all too young so we knew we had to lie about our age. She asked us our birthday and year and my one friend is an idiot so he gave the wrong year even though we discussed it a MILLION times that ya had to say 1983. So he was the only one who couldn't see it but he decided to be a D-Bag because that's what he is and he got a hold of my ticket. Still don't remember how. He wouldn't give it back unless I agreed to go to Stuart Little with him which I ended up doing but I should have just told the employee straight up "this fool took my ticket and won't give it back and he's too young to see Sixth Sense". The good thing was that Stuart Little wasn't too shabby of a movie. I still can't get over the stupidity though. Ya tell someone repeatedly, for hours, "say you were born in 1983" and they still can't get it right.

The twist on Signs is that everyone’s weaknesses were actually strengths in the end. The boy’s asthma closing his airway, the girl’s weird water issue, the brother’s inability to do anything but swing as hard as he could, and the father’s wife dying. His wife’s last words, a sign from God, helped the dad to tie it all together.

Unfortunately, I must disagree. There were plenty of clues to figure out that the aliens didn't like water. For me, the twist was when they thought they were safe so the dad pulls out the tv then in the reflection is an alien holding his son. The athsma, and water, and all other blessings, were signs for the father, who was a priest grieving the loss of his wife, for him to recover his faith in God. Its still one of our favorite movies and we randomly quote it to each other all the time.

The reason some twists are more magical/fantastical has to do with perspective/audience interaction. In movies like Glass, the characters are kept in suspense. It's satisfying to find out the truth, but we all knew there was something more going on. In the Sixth Sense and the Village, there are characters who know a truth we as an audience don't know. It not only answers questions we had, but it answers questions we, including both audience and characters, didn't know we had.

Glass should've been way higher. The three main characters' deaths just shows how the trilogy was made to tell a story more than it was to grab a dollar. The ending was rather anticlimactic, but it was truly brilliant. People just expected an action movie, which I guess can be blamed on the trailer. One other thing. In this world, the public already knew who the overseer, the horde, and Mr. Glass were, so that gives the viral footage credit.

The Lady in the Water critic character states a simple truth, though, when he says there's no true originality. It kinda bothered me that that film vilifies someone for reminding us of this basic point.
