I've had only black cats for the past 25 years because my vet told me about their very low adoption rate. And they have been the best cats! As I type this, my big (25 lb) male baby (he's 14) is snuggled up next to me, purring and looking at me with love. It could be because he wants dinner, though 😁

I rescued a black cat in 2015 she was 7 years old. She saved my life multiple times. I had Miss Rain until June 4th, 23. She was my soul and heart. I will see her in another life!

I used to work in a cat shelter. The black cats were adopted pretty fast. The obese cats unfortunately took the longest to be adopted. Either way, please adopt the black cats and the obese ones! They're all very sweet

I have never met an unfriendly black cat. Every black cat I've met has been really sweet and friendly. I have two lovely black cats at home and they're super sweet. Also, I find it hilarious that the classic image of a black Halloween cat is a scared cat. They're supposed to be scary but they're actually scared. The arched back, fluffed up tail, and bristling fur is all an attempt to look bigger when they feel threatened. A classic fear response.

My black male cat passed away a month ago and I have never met as sweet feline as him. Even when the vet took blood samples from him regularly (hyperthyroid reasons) he never complained. Every time vet and assistants were amazed how nicely he behaved. Rest in peace my beloved boy~

I know how that feels, My Ebony died in 2020. He was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs, he couldn't stand so I called a friend to take us to the My Vet. He died in may arms on the way. I asked the vet to find out why he died, he said the first time I had taken Ebony to him was 25 years ago as a kitten. He said it was old age and he probably was waiting at the stair to say goodby. He did, he purred and rubbed against me until he died still trying to comfort me like he did anytime I was upset or sick. He always knew.

So back in October, I rescued a Bombay cat, the blackest black cat, and he’s so sweet and loving. It was right before Halloween so I instantly adopted him from the humane society, little did I realize I was saving two cats. My cat’s name is Felix and he’s a big lover boy at heart. Back in December my brother’s medic in the army who’s a huge animal lover got so inspired from Felix he went and adopted his own little black kitten named Athena. Poor little girl was through it as part of her ear was missing, but he loves that little kitten so much.

😺😺 good day all 🐱 in New Jersey cannot adopt in October do to Halloween 🎃🎃 when I adopted Blakely at St John's Animal House I brought home a panther and another took two more out so that day three black was adopted 🌻🌻🌻

I'd love to watch all of this but I can't. I've got a miniature panther, and it just ticks me off so much to hear about all the bias and superstition. My girl's the sweetest kitteh anyone could want.

I had a little black cat adopt me. He just kept on coming to my door and meowing to come in and now he's curled up in my lap while I type. I certainly consider him to be good luck. He is so playful and crazy and as a result has made my life infinitely more fun with his antics. I also no longer need an alarm clock to get me up on time... His meows are a much nicer way to wake up than electronic beeping ♥

We had the same thing happen with our black cat, Vader. Gradually started coming in the house for longer and longer periods, then sleeping on the couch overnight. It was/is too cute. He's about 80% indoors now and definitely good luck for us.

I remember going to an adoption center with my sister a few years ago to get a black kitten (who is now named Gi-Gi) and the staff telling me how black cats are less likely to be taken because of their "stereotype" and I was pretty shocked. But she is the sweetest cat ever once she gets to know you.

I grew up in the country/rural where people drop cats. The black cats were the best. Followed by calico. I vote adopt the black ones.

Blakeford adopted me 8 years ago. He was pretty old and had a bad hip and urinary issues. But he's happy and healthy and on his back right now in the middle of our living room. He's a very good boss and we love that cat.

I have a long hair solid black cat that showed up at work on Halloween!!! She is beautiful, she is the sweetest cat I have ever known. She has a little squeak of a meow so we named her Squeaky. She is beside me this very moment. I love her so much. She has more character than any other cat I have.

@@sapphirejade5029 Thank you, Squeaky is such a doll. Everything has to be just right for her, she is soo finicky. I am up to cat #16. I dont have 16 cats! That's how many I have helped, get shots, tests, dewormed and fixed. I will find homes for them or keep a few of them. I dont actually give them names anymore, I just give them a number. By chance Squeaky is number 8!!! 8 balls are black!!! If they are a female I will call them Baby, if they are males I will call them Buddy. I can't keep up with all the names. People seem to abandon them at a restaurant I work at around Christmas. But Squeaky showed up on Halloween. Strange. My sisters cant believe I have turned into a cat person. I'm either at Sea or riding my Harley Davidsons. All creatures great and small. I wish I could have a place large enough to take care of all of them that need help. Take care my friend.

@@terraria-fan.1 Hi Gena, I found a small gray cat living under a 60 foot model ship I built. She has thumbs! Very odd? Some say she is a Hemingway cat.... I thought those had 6 claws? This one has 5 claws but..... well.... she has thumbs! I had to keep her, she is #10 I just call her baby. She gets jealous of Squeaky and #13 when sleeping on my bed. She dosent want to be near either of them when trying to sleep. At this moment Squeaky is on the pillow next to my head. #13 is at my knees and #10 'thumbs' is at my hip opposite side. If there isnt at least two cats trying to sleep on the bed, something is wrong. I love them so much. (Please dont tell my biker buddies.)

I just adopted a black cat, well a feral kitten. She showed up on my deck mewing and crying - on Halloween! How cool is that? Poor little thing is so tiny. The vet said she’s seven or maybe weeks old and is healthy except for a belly full of worms, which he treated her for. She was very shy the first few days but now she’s a cuddly little thing. I have two other cats, adult males, and they are starting to play with her.

I just adopted a black kitty a few months ago. I had no idea of their low adoption rates. I’m so glad I got him (his name is Batman and two weeks after I adopted him, I went back to the shelter to get him a friend… who I named Robin!)

We have numerous black cats, and they're some of the friendliest cats I've ever met. We recently got a new puppy, and one of the black cats very quickly came over to give her a friendly head bump and welcome her to the household.

I love black cats. All of the mini panthers I've known (including my own cat) are extra sweet and affectionate.🐾🐾🐾🐾❤️❤️😻😻

Got one 6 months ago , ironically it's most affectionate cat I've ever owned , out of 6 cats , comes to bed to sleep every night , curls up by my head , never scratches or bits even when angry

Black cats are truly underrated in so many ways. Personally, I find them to be like silhouettes with bright eyes. It’s almost like the special black paint that can turn anything into a real life silhouette. And that’s why I named my black cat Vanta.

I remember going to the pound to adopt a cat. I told her I wanted a black one and she said Bless you! We got the most incredible kitten ever. Black cats look awesome

My black cat Cecil provided me with nearly 20 years of companionship and pleasure. He was one of the most personable cats I’ve ever owned. I lost him to CKD last December, and I still miss him to this day. My wife and I are looking into adopting another black cat before the end of the year.

Thank you for supporting the adoption of black cats. I have volunteered at animal shelters for over 10 years, and I've never found that one cat fur pattern was superior to another one when it came to sweet, cuddly, cats.

I had a black cat for 18 yrs until she got cancer .she was the most loving cat.she was affectionate very mellow .I would recommend to adopt one .

Cats everywhere should be honored and respected and just plain loved and worshiped for their awesomeness.

Our family adopted a wonderful 12 week old black female kitten on Halloween of this year. She is so beautiful, intelligent, classy, sassy, chill, & a great hunter. A fantastic member of our family. I'm so grateful to have such a great cat. The family loves her just the same. She loves us too. Head bunts and nonstop purring lets us know.

Our very first cat we adopted a few years ago as a kitten is our adorable black cat named Ricky. He has brought us so much joy and happiness.

We recently adopted a black cat from a shelter - he had been there a long time, I think because he was a bit of a "swiper" if startled. It took him a while to get to know us and trust us but now he is part of the family and is a lovely loving boy. We didn't set out to adopt a black cat - our little man chose us 😻

I love how my cat's coat shines in the sunlight. She's so beautiful. Her personality's so sweet and calm, her presence brought peace and joy to me. I could never imagine my life without her, she's my friend, my baby. If anything, I got really lucky to have her with me. She's always by my side when I'm down or feeling sick, she sits near me and watches me while I work or do housework, she sleeps with me and curls up beside me so we both are warm. It is my wish that we can continue together for many years to come. I love my feline friend with all my heart.

Black cats are the BEST! My partner and I were adopted by our furry kid who wandered over from the neighborhood across the street. He’s 2 years old now, a medium-haired alpha male haus panther named Ninja. I have had a blue point Siamese and a tuxedo; he is my first black cat and he has brought us so much good luck!!! 🐈‍⬛🍀

my black cat was a stray whonadopted me by jumping in my truck and giving me the "we can leave now" look. he is the sweetest most loving cat ive ever had and ive had over a dozen in my 50+ years.

My favorite pattern is mainly black, but not completely: the tuxedo pattern.

I have a tuxedo baby, and the white and black make a beautiful contrast. She was a pitiful stray who showed up in my yard a year and a half ago and even if she was totally black I still would have taken her in and loved her just as much. She has been the best animal companion I ever had!

As a Christian, silly superstitions do not apply to me. For me they ARE GOOD luck! I have been blessed as I have chosen to adopt mainly my black raven beauties❣️🐈‍⬛

They're very gentle, too. As an artist I love how light reflects on their pure feline form. I pity those who fail to see the beauty.

Watching this with my black cat on my lap. Out of all my cats, my black cat is the best behaved and the friendliest. She is very affectionate and the only cat who will make herself known when we have people over. She honestly think that any visitor is specifically there to see her. She is amazing!!

Minuit is a very original apt name. For a Minou.

After hearing the cool black cat names. It reminds me of my current black cat named Luna. Meaning 'moon' in Spanish. But I've also had a male black cat in the past named Pepper. Another named 'Freda'. Because she reminded me of Freda Kahlo. Black haired and run-on all black eyebrows. They are such beautiful creatures. They come very slick dressed already. Just beautiful!

I recently lost my my little lady. She suddenly got sick and passed away. My heart was broken. My sister in law found a little black cat roaming the streets. Couldn’t have been more that 5 weeks old. She asked me if I was ready to accept a new friend. I took him in and he has helped my heart. He’s so loving and seems so thankful to have been rescued. He’s a little purr machine. ❤❤

I adopted my little black beauty 9 months ago. She stays with me always and I love her so much. She brings so much joy into our household.

We adopted our black cat, Duncan, over 14 years ago, and he's lovable, gentle, and such a sweetheart, we can't imagine our lives without him. Interestingly, the name Duncan means "Dark-haired warrior." Appropriate for this mini-panther!

My void kitty is absolutely the friendliest cat I've ever had, bar none. She absolutely insists on sleeping next to me every night and spends basically all day around me.

We adopted a black kitten a couple years ago. Her name is “Spooky” and she is the most lovable, cuddly kitty creation ever!

I'm lying next to my black cat right now. I've had him since he was three weeks old. Never knew there was a predjudice before I got him. My Irish grandmother had one, too. She said they were good luck. But the only reason I got him was because I LIKED him the best out of the litter (none of the others were black). He was the smartest.

I recently adopted my first black cat. I've had many cats in my life, and I honestly think this little guy is the most friendly and cuddly of them all.

I love black cats, I've had one at home for 12 years and it's just a wonderful companion, it's cuddly, playful and very smart, it hears its name and we understand each other even without words. It is a great love. Right now he is lying next to me and contentedly in front. Those superstitions are stupid! I recently fostered 3 black 8 week old babies and l would happily adopt all of them. They were playful, energetic and loving, just like every cat I've cared for, their colour has no baring on their temperament.

The last cat with whom I shared a home was a large black longhair cat. She was the most amazing, intelligent and affectionate feline anyone could hope to have as a domestic companion. Even people who proclaimed they "hated cats" said they liked her when they visited my house.

My black cat came to me when I was going through a lot. I lost my job & relationship, my ex basically threw him to me and left. This little kitten whom I named Bear had ringworm as a kitten. On the side symptom of ringworm, he has horrible breath! 😂😂I went through a long time treating him & myself, and he’s been a faithful friend & a joy in the household. I can’t imagine my life without him. I even sometimes miss his bad breath now that his smell is impeccable!

We did it! Made it official as of March 2022. He started coming to our back door - he chose us, really. Had him checked and vaccinated by the Humane Rescue Alliance here in DC, and then moved to the official adoption process. It took some weeks for him to settle in, but he really is God’s gift to us! We treasure every moment with him.

I love black cats, I used to have my own little house panther. He was such a sweetie and a cuddle bug. I miss him so. I currently have two ex-feral cats that I rescued and feeding another that has shown up for food. I’m older and have mobility issues or I would go pick an older one from a shelter. Great video.

I just lost my Black cat after 17 years, and he was the best. Smart, loving and well behaved. In 17 years he never had an accident outside his litter box. Black cats are the best.

My black cat was gifted to me by his mom. I took care of the mom through 2020. She was a stray cat. I fed her in the morning and evenings. She would not come into the house because of my other cat. I created a winter home with at travel crate and a canister light for heat. She was pregnant spring 2021. She had 5 kittens. She and her kittens disappeared and Shadow prancing across the yard like a bodyless shadow. Thus his name. Love him.

My 1st cat was a black cat. And i currently have a sweet house panther. His name is Little Bear

My love for spooky things is one of the reasons I got my fluffy black demon. Last year I went through a really bad break up, and was on the brink of suicide. I honestly believe adopting my fluffy black boy saved my life. He's a sweetheart and so entertaining, he brings joy back in my life every day. My parents, sister, and best friend all have multiple black cats, and now with Binx (yes I'm a 90s kid) in my life, I understand why. Black cats are special.

I have a similar story I went to a park to end it all and mine walked up to me a black kitten and sat in my lap I was gonna do it because of my loneliness and he came and changed my mind and life I love my baby 💙💙💙

I own a black cat. He was born in our house. He’s a polydactyl (sp?). He has 7 toes on his front paws, 6 on the back. He’s very loving. He’s been fixed since before he was a year old. His name is Duke. His litter was royal titles. I tell my husband around this time of year that the Halloween decoration won’t stay in the spot that I put it.

I have 2 black cats I adopted. Sweetest natured cats who adore their cuddles. They are such amazing cats. I'd recommend a black cat to anyone. Totally amazing 🥰 great personalities despite their start in life and very bonded with me. Don't think I would have any other cat now ❤

My beautiful black cat, Malcolm, who was my true companion for 17 years, died last September 29. He was as black as a black cat could be. Even his whiskers were black, but he grew some white whiskers in his senior years. In direct sunlight you could see reddish highlights in his fur, but in artificial light he looked jet black. His eyes were a beautiful green. He was the best feline companion I ever had, and I have had many wonderful feline companions. He was a talker, and we had many conversations over the years. He always responded to his name, and would often respond with a wide variety of vocalizations any time I spoke to him. His gaze was penetrating, and when he looked at me we always made significant eye contact. He was not simple "LOOKING" at me, he was SEEING me. I miss him terribly, and I will never forget him.

Much like my Clyde. He is Two now a bit of a talker even syllables. Kind of a hard one to read.his mom wanted to have him and the siblings on my beding but I needed to pack up and work the next night she had bought them all to me. 1,2,3,4,5.then the next night she bought them all back.after five weeks the area she had the kittens needed to be torn down. Quite a saga. He is the only one left I had to adopt a companion for him I couldn't cry no more for all his losses. The two are getting along great. Again he is kind of hard to read (so coy) he does see me though and we have a spoken understanding

I'm sorry about Malcolm. He sounds like he was a wonderful companion and I can tell he knew you loved him very deeply! Like you, I've shared my life with so many cats and it's always so difficult to see our friends go. I just hope there's a Rainbow Bridge or something like it where we can see them again. Rest in peace, Malcolm! 🌈❤🌹

I had two black Cats growing up. A Momma and her Baby. They were the best Cats. So loving and sweet. I still miss them. I hope to have another one someday.

I’ve had several black cats throughout my life & not only are they the most beautiful with their soft, sleek, shiny coats but they are so affectionate & have the coolest personalities! I will always have a place in my home for a black cat.

I had a stray black cat who followed me so I took him in. He was about 10 months old and people in the area said someone dumped him and he had been begging for food from everyone. He was smart, affectionate, and very athletic. He died from a chronic illness that couldn't be cured, after 10 years. I mourned a long time. I now adopted another black cat at the shelter. He is also very affectionate and smart. He is not very athletic, because he had multiple pelvic fractures (hit by a car?) so he walks a bit funny and can't leap very high. So sometimes I pick him up and let him go on some shelves or a high dresser so he can survey the room! Then he meows when he's done and I take him down. He may be lame for the rest of his life, but he's happy and I play with him all the time. He loves the fishing rod with feathers, although he can't leap up very high so I drag it around on the floor and he catches it that way. He is indoors and likes to lay on his tower (he can jump from perch to perch) and watch the birds outside. He is my little buddy and he is so happy to be out of that shelter. The people at the shelter were so glad that he was adopted. He was there for over 2 months and they thought no one would adopt him because he's black and is a bit lame.

I adopted, correction… A feral cat who had been abandoned about 10 years ago prior to adopting me, gave me four kittens at the time she came into my home. One of them was black. I had no plans on having more cats, I had no plans of having a cat in the first place. One of her kittens is black. I found homes immediately for two of them. My vet had relatives that were looking for kittens, and she thought mine was the sweetest she’s ever seen coming into her practice. I had already made up my mind that Lux Supreme and JinJin. Lux turned into believing truly is the light of my life. I cannot imagine not having him. The reason I kept the second one, it’s simple is that kittens have way too much energy. Having two of them they can burn off some of that energy playing with each other. Plus I created a room just for them with high places, and hiding places. This turned out to be one of the best ideas I’ve had. I kept him simply because I was afraid he would not find a home, and if you did would it be a good home. I know that some people adopt black cat just because they are black and have no intention of giving them a loving home the tournament them instead.

I've adopted 2 black kittens 4 years ago. I gotta say ive never had such affectionate, lovely, playful and smart cats. The amount of words they remember is surprisingly high and they open doors like its nothing. They're also always with me while i'm at home , cuddling and playing. Plus they can be real crackheads sometimes. They're my best friends, i can really recommend getting black cats❤

I'm a cat mum to a black cat called Aiko (Japanese name means little loved one ) her sister is black and white. but Aiko's nickname is mini panther but Aiko gets more views on her Channel then we do LOL

A feral kitten, that I now named Milo, came around by my house a few days ago and within time, we caught it and took it to the vet. Vet said it’s a boy and it’s around 10-12 weeks old. He got his vaccinations, a few other things, and a checkup. For being feral, he is so lovable and friendly. Within time, he warms up to you and turns into a purr machine 😂 Definitely not bad luck, and now I have a huge obsession for black cats! ❤

Every black cat I have ever had - including the current one - has been super affectionate, loyal and VERY much a loving lap cat who loves companionship. Mine has proven to be THE BEST nurse ever after I battled back stage 3 breast cancer this time last year. After all of my multiple surgeries, he snuggled by my side as I recuperated after being discharged from the hospital and stayed with me throughout my recovery. Black cats RULE, loved every one I have ever had! 😻🐈‍⬛🐾

I just adopted my furry blank cat about 2 weeks ago after losing my 10 year old girl Emma to cancer. I named her Inka, and she's healing my heart day by day. I also adopted her brother Blue who looks nothing like her, but they love each other and I couldn't bear to separate them. They're both 4 and 1/2 months old and their kitten antics make me laugh. Laughter is a much needed emotion in this stressed out world, so if your feeling low, and you have the home and commitment to properly care for a cat or two, I highly recommend it!

Thank you for not separating them. We fostered for years and people usually didn’t care about siblings being close. If they were bonded they had to go together or stay with us lol.

I rescued a black cat over 10 years ago, he was just a month old baby. We named him Chaos, and he's the king and he knows it! He's so affectionate, even with strangers (we might have pampered him way too much). Everyone in my family loves him, and he loves us back! It's funny, once I was chilling with Chaos in my garden, when some random kid yells at my cat saying "oh no! a black cat!!" and ran away. But also my cat got scared and ran away lmao. Then on some other random day, chilling with Chaos in the garden again, a random couple passes by, and the girl says "oh my God! Look at that little panther!" and pointed at Chaos, obviously. Chaos approached the couple and let the girl pet him and then they left giggling. That warmed my heart so much! I love Chaos, I'll be devastated when I lose him. He's right now sleeping beside me!

We just recently moved house and last week we decided to sit in the garden to enjoy the sun. 15 minutes later my neighbours black cat comes waltzing over to say hi and ended up laying next to me for about an hour for petting. Sweetest little kitty.

Our baby thinks he’s small, but he IS a panther - a 20-pound plus snuggle bunny! What a blessing!

I currently have 2 black kittens. I lost my Smokey 2 yrs ago. Last year, for Christmas, I told my family I wanted a black kitty as my gift. I didn't want to adobt, though. I wanted a rescue. I ended up with 2, 1 boy & 1 girl. They are exactly 1 month apart. They were both the last ones left in their litters. No one wanted them due to bad luck. Onyx and Luna have brought such joy to our home, quite the opposite of bad luck.

We have two beautiful Black Cats. Mushu was from a litter 6 years ago - he had a Calico Mom, 2 orange tiger brothers & 1 gray tiger Brother who looked like a Maine Coon with his long coat. Mikey (Michael) was a stray over a year ago - we fed him outside for about 10 months, he gradually let us pet him. He would go away looking for females & the last time he came back after 2-1/2 weeks - he was beat up. So I scooped him up, brought him inside, made a Vet appt. for check-up, shots & neuter. Mikey is 3 yrs. old according to the Vet & is a very loving, curious & playful kitty. We also have 4 Calico Sisters & their Brother (gray & white). Max is an orange tiger (Mushu's Brother) & Nicky was a stray 8-10 years ago (black & white) - he is our old man. All inside - safe. We live in the SW Arizona Desert with Coyotes, Owls & stray dogs on occasion so the cats are only safe inside. We do have the yards fenced in around the house but you know cats will always find a way out. So inside is safest. They have their toys & each other to play with for exercise. Oh, now we have ANOTHER stray cat - Danny Boy who is a gray tiger & white cat - we feed him outside because he is skittish & will not let us near him (just like Mikey was originally). No matter what the color of a cat or dog - we love them with their unique personalities. Judi

My Onyx passed away 3 months ago, she was 9 yrs old and the sweetest, most beautiful little girl I've ever had the honor to have loved me and basically only me! She is deeply missed by me and her sister Muffet!!

My first cat was a black cat and he lasted 16 years. He was the best cat and my best friend. He would massage my shoulders when I came home from work. He was at my side day and night. He loved being in the garden with me. He would save baby birds, baby rabbits from my white cat. He played a game of chase with the rabbits in the yard, he would chase then the rabbit would chase. He brought a live baby rabbit in the house one time and dropped him in front of his food bowl. Great cat

Our black cat Queen Medb is one of the smartest cats we've owned. She was 4 months old when we adopted her via PURR rescue. I've trained her to respond to her name (anglicized version Maeve) and a few other commands as well. Medb is extremely gentle and has never struck out at either of us. The only time we've ever heard her growl and hiss was when she saw a dog outside while sitting in our kitchen window. She is totally an indoor cat for her health and protection.

Black cats are beautiful! I lost my black beauty year. She was my little panther. she is terribly missed. She was a feral and it took patience, love, lots of talking and singing to her brought her around. She had some of that feral trait in her to the last but she turned into a loving part of our family.😢

My black started out stringy and has grown into a magnificent 'little' panther. 20 lbs of purr. He comes if I say his name, and answers me when I talk to him. Acts like a dog, lays at my feet with 1 paw touching me. Adopted from rescue 6 years ago cuz he was the zoomiest in the place-such a good choice ❣

I'm on my 2nd cat. Both were black and both were loving. 😻As an aside I have darker decor and the shedding is disguised. 😹I also love the more "alien" shaped triangular face shape that is prevalent in black cats here.

Wow! I thought about the shedding issue and this ginger kitty is a long haired boy, but our girl is a sleek short haired tuxedo cat and her shedding is a fraction of his.

I have a black cat named Boo. He is the sweetest cat I have ever owned. He is so calm and never jumps on countertops or tables. He is so compliant when we take him to the vet or if I need to give him medicine. He climbs up at the corner of the bed and puts his paw in my hand. I love him so much!!

We have a black cat named Sam! We found him after a rain storm. He is amazing!

We adopted/rescued a black kitten as our second cat. He could not be better, or cooler, or more loving. We call him our Egyptian cat god Mau. 🎉😊. When I brought home kitten #3, Mau became the best big brother I could have ever hoped for! Black cats are very special, stunning and lovely spirits.

I have a black cat female. She was a stray as a kitten . Left by a stranger in my sister’s car while she was at work. My sister gave me the black kitten . I named her Queen. After my favorite band. It was live at first site .best cat ever . I suffer from severe anxiety and Queen . Knows when it starts . She lays on my chest and starts purring and grooming my face. She always calms me down . I’m blessed to have her
