I adopted one in 2015 and she hates my guts

When I adopted my first black cat, my family was apprehensive. They even stopped visiting for a while. Then, he won them over with his friendliness and charm. Now I have a second one who is still a baby and she is the most loving creature I have ever met. Black cats are awesome. 🖤😻

My neighbours son found a black ringtail kitten in a small park across from our home. My son named her Tiberius but she doesn't seem to mind.

I named my black cat after the lucky black cat from Scotland, Cait Sith (pronounced catshee) who was believed to be the king of all cats. It literally however translates as cat fairy. If you left some food out for him on Halloween, it ensured that your food and grains would last the winter and you would not starve. If you didn’t he would not give you protection and the mice would invade your food store, spoiling everything.

I share my home with 2 amazing short hair black cats and yes they are very sweet and it’s like they know when u don’t feel well or something is wrong and they stay by ur side. Yes I have had cats of other coloring and they were great cats but there is something special about my two black cats

About a year ago I found a very small black kitten and fostered him hes the only cat I've had that will crawl on my chest and fall asleep and head nudges me in the chin that's affection right there!

I love black cats! I had one named Inky. She was lovable and a great mouser when young. She had a great life and passed away peaceably in her sleep at 21 years old. I miss her!

We were adopted by a black stray cat. He followed my wife home. He now lives with us and is a wonderful affectionate compagnon. Smartest cat I have ever seen. He saw which drawer we were putting his spare toys in. It is a cheap ball at the end of a stick that is destroyed by him in 20 minutes if he is left with it. As a result we have spares, well, he managed to open the drawer himself to get to play with the ´fresh’ new toys.

My black cat used to open the (previous) refrigerator, so we had to "bungee cord" it closed, or he'd make himself a midnight snack. He also liked to jump on the stove timer, so it would sound off (again, in the middle of the night). He could also drag open the HEAVY heating drawer on the bottom of the stove, such that you could not store food even temporarily in that feature. When he was a kitten, I lived at my water access only cabin and the adoption agency ~ knowing this ~ made me promise I'd not let he nor his female litter mate outside....as they were concerned that an eagle or raven might snatch them up. It was incredibly difficult to sneak out the door without them...and a book suggested I gently mist him with water to discourage him from either jumping on the counter or being in a dangerous area. When I misted him he LEANED IN and SAVOURED the spritz. I invariably laughed and he'd (temporarily) escape.

I used to have a black cat back in the 70's and he had the strangest eyes. Most of the time his eyes were yellow but on a few occasions I actually saw them turn green. He was a great cat for sure. Very loving.

My black cat, Manus (Father of the Abyss, named by my youngest son) was born to a Tortoiseshell female and, in sunlight, he has a "halo" of glowing orange hair. He also has a spot of white under each armpit, and a curved cresent of white in his crotch area....these areas are unseen but for when he goes upside down... It looks like a "Smiley Face". Super cute. AND HIS "BEANS"! Black cat beans (toe pads) are irresistibly adorable.

I have 4 black cats. Bruce,Selina, Onyx and Nightwing. Love them all. Nightwing has yellow and green eyes.

I mentioned to my husband I wanted to get a black cat since they have always been my favorite. My birthday gift that year was a black kitten who was being fostered. Then I found out he had brothers. Long story short my 1 kitten turned into 3 black kittens. Shortly after bringing the boys home we were adopted by a black stray tom cat who also has a forever home now.

And Blackie will respond meow and I still pretend That I don't know where actually spot he s even I know hahahaha. My blackie is very clingy and sweet. Even when I came home and bring foodnin a platic wrap blackie knows oh actually both them king kinh they know it is food. If somebody say's to you Once a black Cat cross on your Path it is badluck? It made me so sad to hear that black cats are used for ritual sacrifice and live Halloween decorations. I have a black cat, and he is one of the cutest and most affectionate cats I’ve had. I’ll definitely be keeping him indoors during this month, especially near Halloween. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🖤

You said what I wanted to say. I have had a black cat since 1998. I adopted a black kitten from the local Animal shelter and she lived for 19 years. She was such a beautiful and sweet soul and loved to be held like a baby on her back. After she died, I started looking for another black cat. And I wanted an adult cat. At a Pet Smart they had several adult cats but there was a lot of people there and I couldnt see all of the cats. My friend was able to see them and asked if I had seen the black cat she was carrying .. she is so beautiful... her coat is so soft and her face looks like my previous cat. Oh my god ! My cat thinks he is invisible too ! ( I mean he spots any black think in the house from clothes to furniture and sits/sleeps/hide on it ! Sometimes he literally is Invisible !) Also at night of course !

We have one of the most beautiful and sweet Black fur babies. She loves to cuddle with me. Her name is Spookee (aka Keekee). She came to us on Halloween night 2019. That’s why we named her Spookee.

Almost every person in my family has a black cat. They're nothing but lucky to us all. They're all the most amazing cats I've known.

Not long after we’d moved into our place, we heard a very loud meowing in the middle of the night. I couldn’t find the source. My daughter found this tiny black kitten under a wheeled garbage bin. She couldn’t have been more than 5 weeks old. Still had blue eyes. Now she’s two. The other two cats we already had are now ten. Guess who rules the roost? Yep. With an iron paw. She takes the highest perch on the cat tower, and while she surveys her domain, still gives dirty looks. And we adore this little beast!

It’s likely not stink eye, it’s the contrast of yellow green eyes against black that makes her seem like she’s doing that. Your anthropomorphizing her. (Attributing human qualities that aren’t there) If you toss that idea you’ll find she’s just a relaxed cat.

This, along side being a loving, lucky “owner” of several long-lived kitty cats. I know how their eyes work. I know what “anthropomorphism” is. And one of the best parts of being a cat mom, is mixing in a little bit of extra character. Although they hardly need it…🙀🥺😺♥️🐿 I love that you want to help people understand their cat, and what makes it tick/purr. It’s a noble effort. I hope that you have a beautiful day 🌞🕊

My mom had a black cat named Sarah. Sarah adored my mom and tapped my mom's hand with a paw for some of the food on the table. Sarah adored me too, and she crossed my path once but I didn't get any bad luck.

My black cat (who passed away) long haired black cat was a beautiful, loving cat. He loved car rides, taking a bath & taking walks on a leash. R. I. P. "Baby". The darker the fur the louder the purr!

Black cats are amazing. We've had a black cat for 10 years and she's the most loving softest cat there is.

My black cat was in the shelter for two years before I adopted her.... She was there so long because she was black and yet she's the sweetest cat ever and gets along great with my male cat and three year old daughter

My family had many black or mostly black cats over the decades. They are and were absolutely sweethearts. My current black cat has green eyes and our vet is always praising him for it. I was always wondering why, but maybe it's because most black eyes have apparently golden eyes, as I've just learned now :D I never was as close with a cat, as I am with him. I'm always joking we live in symbiosis ^^

When i took him to the spay/neuter clinic with his gray sister, i got all kinds of positive comments about him, but none for her. The most often comment was, "he has beautiful eyes". Since they both had the same feral parents, i found that odd that his sister was gray, and both him and his parents are black. My late wife passed away from diabetes last year, and i have photos of him sleeping near her in her final 2 years. For some strange reason, she could not get affectionately close to him, but i will never know why.

The only bad thing about black cats is that sometimes their dark coats work too well. I have accidentally kicked my kitty a couple times getting out of bed to use the bathroom because I didn't see him. I feel horrible about it every time.

I had to install a bunch of motion sensing lights along my stairs, so we wouldn't trip over our black kitties in the night and go tumbling down the stairs.

I adopted a tuxedo about one year ago from a local shelter. She was said to pee-marking her territory due to stress so she was only given to someone who didn't have any other pets.... And to be honest adopting her was the best choice I ever made, she's so calm and affectionate ever since she got comfortable around me (peeing outside the litter box never happened either), and I love her so much that I'll never give her away ever again 💜

Actually, in recent decades the negative superstition about black cats crossing a street became popular in Russia too! But still, thanks for the video, very charming one. I adore black cats so much! ❤️

I adopted a six-year-old black cat from the shelter 3 1/2 years ago and she is wonderful. She is very intuitive, and to think no one wanted her. She was at the time the longest resident at the shelter at about a year and a half. I can't believe no one wanted her. Her huge purr and great personality are wonderful.

I have 3 black cats at my house (one passed, sadly) and my family says we might get another one when we move. On the plus note, I am born on October 27, the same day as the National black cat appreciation day.

I love my companion he is so friendly charming. He has been good luck for me, and is a great friend...I gave up.on humans after a mild stroke I had 5 yrs ago but only had him a year next month. Great channel 👏

I have only ever had black cats. I absolutely love them, and they're my favorite. There so cute, and pretty, and mystical, and mine have only ever been sweet (mostly lol because cats). Idk, I know black cats have brought protection, pure love, and healing to my life.

I've had black cats all my life and yes we always kept them inside during the month of October.

My Percy is my shadow. She follows me everywhere. I think she gets lonely when I’m at work, so I am planning to adopt another black cat to be her fur-sibling. I do notice that most of the cats up for adoption are black, likely to be the last to be adopted due to these ridiculous superstitions. Black cats are so very affectionate and loving with sweet personalities💕😻💕

I love black cats, i have a tomcat now black as ink and he’s a lovable cat,he is a great mouser and sadly other critters, my other black cat was female and lived until 17 and she was very attached to me , in fact she acted more like a dog following me everywhere.

Jiji is my black cat and the love of my life. I am lucky to have him.

We had a stray Tortie adopt us. She had her kittens in my flower bed. Three of them were black. We were going to try to get them adopted (as we already had 3 cats in the house) but after learning about how they are treated we decided to keep them. My sister has one of them and we kept the other two. They are the best cats we have ever had. We love them so much 🖤

I also adopted a male* black cat and his female* littermate, a Tortoise shell, from the local SPCA. They were of course neutered/spayed prior to adoption. Their mom was a Tortoise shell KITTEN who conceived ~ the vet stated ~ on her first heat. The idiots who owned her dumped her off at the SPCA when she was in labour...which was probably for the best as the staff helped her immediately. The kittens needed a lot of assistance as the mom was too young to know how to care for them.. It was a litter of 4 female Torties and 2 black boys. I'm so glad one of the two tortie females was snatched up by a prior visitor who purportedly spent 5 minutes choosing a kitten. My son and I were there three hours....I attempted to talk the staff into giving the 5 min shoppers the other Tortie kitten (as the three were physically well nigh identical) but they said no, that would be unethical. I am so grateful for that intervention. That fortuitous accident Lead me to choose the high energy, super playful "squirrelly as heck" BLACK littermate. He is the best cat. I'm so lucky someone wanted the quiet little siskit

I had a beautiful Manx, black cat that lived for 22 years, and was a loving cat that traveled everywhere with me. She was very special and I loved her very much. She was an adoptee and I named her Daisy. I also adopted a male at the same time who lived for 18 years, he was a grey tabby and I named him Donald. I had both neutered early. They were indoor cats, and adorable, loving cats!💗💗

I don't get it why some people treated black cats badly whuch is they are God Creations. I am a Filipino from Philippines in Asia continent. My hair is straight so it meqns bad luck too? Hahaha funny people. This is racism in Cats. Black is shiny and Amazing color for Cats or even dogs. I have Pet Cat Black named Blackie very sweet a Male Cat. It's My profile picture in my facebook account To showcase My Pet Cat. Actuallt I have 2 cats. One is orange white coat cat name King King and the 2nd one is Blackie. I make fun of my cat when I turn off the lights and I pretend I didn't see him because blackie is invisible in the dark and I will say... blackie? Blackie? And Blackie will respond meow and I still pretend That I don't know where actually spot he s even I know hahahaha. My blackie is very clingy and sweet. Even when I came home and bring foodnin a platic wrap blackie knows oh actually both them king kinh they know it is food. If somebody say's to you Once a black Cat cross on your Path it is badluck? Nope. That's just a black cat about to go home or hunting or about to follow you. My Profile in this Google account as you see is My Pet Cat king king. The real Badluck are those people who are cruel to animals especially those animals are helpless.People who are mean and bitter in life wilk always be like that even in Animals. For Me People whonare bad are the real bad luck. Animals has there own defend mechanism natural instinct defending themselves but as human with highest intelligent than them we must understand and think 10 times not to hurt black cats a precious feline house panther .

My mother had a black cat she named, "Circe", after the sorceress in the, "Odyssey". She and that cat were inseparable, beautiful cat, sleek silky coat. My daughter has an all black cat named, "Elda". She is black but with a white undercoat, never have seen that before. She appeared on our doorstep as a kitten after a hurricane. Still going strong at age 18 now!

I love my black kitty Shadow, got him from the streets back in Oct 2016! I feel lucky to have him.

Black cats are such beautiful animals, it’s a shame that some people do awful things to them. Breaks my heart.

We love black cats in Italy, many of my friends have back cats. Thats an old form of superstition which still may exist in small villages but not in general

After volunteering for a large cat rescue, I’ve learned that black cats (and dogs for that matter) are the last to be adopted. 😩

I have 3 gorgeous black cats. I did have 4 but sadly one passed away fairly young with kidney failure a couple of years ago. The only problem I have with black cats is I also have a black sofa so before I sit down, I check to make sure I'm not going to sit on one of my black cats. All of my cats have been adopted (well, failed foster actually). One of them, Kira who came to me as an 8 month old abused, neglected kitten now wakes me up every morning with a soft paw tapping my face. So beautiful especially as when I first got her she was terrified of us. Wicked owners surrendered her, riddled with worms, covered in fleas and sores, grossly underweight and full of cat 'flu. It took many trips to the vet to sort out her health problems and she wasn't spayed either. As soon as my vet gave her the all-clear, we had her spayed and microchipped even though she is an indoor cat only. The turnaround in her was so heart-warming and she is now the sweetest, most loving cat you can imagine - and mischievous too. I was only supposed to foster her but after all she'd been through, there was no way I could have parted with her. I also have another 7 cats of various colours. All except 2 are failed fosters and all are loved and cherished members of my family.

Another great video you've done !!! ✔👍👍👍I am so sad that they're the least adopted cats from shelter here in the U.S. !!! And the 2nd is orange cat !!! Just doesn't make any sense at all as they're the most easy going & super duper affectionate !!! I was just talking about this reg.both clour cats on Lex & Cinnabon channel ,literally several minutes ago !! Thank you so much for doing this video !!! Especially before the Halloween my favourite holiday of the year ! I hope videos like this will help people to get rid of silly fixed & obsolete mind & get educated ,better ,help black cats getting adopted !!! I get worried of black cats around my most favourite holiday of the year HALLOWEEN 🎃 I am subbed to so many cat channels ,I watch Lex & Cinnabon ,it's an orange cat & Lex adopted him & his vlogs show how they met & how he adopted this semi feral cat suddenly started coming to his huge backyard like a wood / forest !! And their daily life & how their friendship have been growing !! They have a neighbour's black cat Bean who comes to their house ,but not welcomed by Cinnabon ! Lol. I think I'm gonna mention of this video there & other channel who babysit a black cat named Olive !! They're gonna ( the viewers ) love this video & your channel I believe !!! Every black cat that I have ever known or owned has been a complete and total sweetheart.

When i was younger I adopted 2 black cats, sisters from the same litter so they could keep each other company. I was a Goth so they could shed on my clothes and it wouldn't matter. They loved ping pong balls.

I’ve had my black cat with me for 10 years now. He got me through my parents divorce, moving cross country, high school, and college. During my intense depressive episodes he sits with me and comforts me (even if it means his coat is covered in tears and snot after).

Black cats are the most affectionate and talkative ones I've ever owned. I love black cats! They are also the last to get adopted from shelters. So if you love cats, go adopt a black cat if you can.

I have a black cat. Her name is Onyx. She is so loveable and loves to sit in my lap. She's part of our family. She's a rescue.

My mom loves black cats and it rubbed off on my sisters and me. I adopted a black cat a few years ago, and my family has owned 5 thus far, all rescues. In fact, one of our local shelters has a special event for adopting black cats. The adoption fees are significantly lower and it allows their beautiful black kitties to find homes.

I absolutely adore my black cat Stickers. He’s just beautiful and has such a quirky personality.

Owned three black cats (one passed early this year) and I will say that thwy have been the best of friends and family i have ever had. Ozzy, the one that passed, was being fostered by my older sister and he decided he’d adopt us as his family. I miss him so much… My son Ebony and newest family member Kitsunea couldn’t make me any more happy. I hope to adopt more cats in the future, (especially if they’re black kitties) Also y’all try to adopt male cats, they stay in shelters longer than females do :(

Sorry for your loss, my baby Yoda passed away this June from heart failure,he was 13.. I still can't get over it. Hopefully someday I will find another like him😔

I named him Yoda because when I found him as a stray kitten he had a bad ear mite infection that caused the fur on his ears and head to fall,so he looked like the fictional character. He always was obsessed with me , following me everywhere which makes it much harder to get over. Take care and blessings to you and your kitties.🌹

I LOVE BLACK CATS! I have had many black kitties throughout my life. They are beautiful! I find all kitties loving and wonderful!

My two current cats are completely black - no idea where their breeding came from! I am Irish, however, and we do think of them as lucky, rather than unlucky.

I loved every one of my cats and found their loss very painful. I always wish that I still had them today.

I had a black cat once. I had him for 13 years, and he was an outdoor kitty! Oh, how I loved that cat. I will always love black cats! Black cats always remind about my little friend. Whenever he would cross my path, he would not give me any bad luck. No! He gave me love. Halloween is the last holiday I think about whenever I remember my sweet black cat. Satan? Forget about it!! What about love? That is what I always think about whenever it comes to black cats. They are just as sweet and affectionate as other cats. You gotta love them! 🐱🖤💕

I love all cats but have a special place in my heart for Black cats. I currently have a wonderful all black female cat that is a house cat and never goes outside. She is 15 years old and 15 pounds. She's not fat but large. She is so loving and so much company. I can't imagine my life without a cat.

i had a black cat when i was younger, his name was Cosmo. my family believed that he was actually a melanistic orange tabby bc when you saw him in a certain light, you could see orange "ghost stripes"! he was a very beautiful, sweet cat and lived till the ripe old age of 19. he will forever be missed. :' )

Black cats have been considered bad luck for decades but like you I don't see it. They are fantastic animals in my book but then I just love cats anyway. I grew up having cats and they are a lot of fun.

my wonderful cats ~ i’ve had three black kitties and two black and white kitties. two of the black cats had green eyes. they weren’t pure black - had some white spots. but my golden eyed black one also has white spots. for some reason, i love black furred or haired animals. black horses are freaking gorgeous!!! too bad there aren’t small dog sized horses :) 🐎🐕‍🦺

I found this black cat sleeping on a pile of cardboards in my living room, since then he's been living with us and gotta say I've been the most happiest ever since. He's such a good friend. I love him.

My little boy is 14 months old he came after my little Ebony died of cancer. I wasn’t looking, I was sobbing to much and couldn’t think of another baby. I live in Idaho a friend in Fort Worth Texas called and said she had a rescue, 2 months old and he had been saved with his brother from a terrible mess. My response was, but It’s to soon my baby’s ashes aren’t even back. We’ve been friends forever so instead of listening to me she sends a photo, not fair at all. There he is a really adorable little baby black kitten, born on July 4th in San Antonio Texas. Where I had buried my Mom 2 years earlier. My friend offered to personally fly him to me 1st class. He’s so darn cute. Yes I gave in. Onyx is his name and he saved me because I was so lost. He is my absolute joy. My friend saved me also. Our friendship over all these years, cultivated at a Christian Conference over 20 years ago. Onyx is 1 of many black cats I’ve owned in my 75 years. They are so wonderful. This guy doesn’t shed he’s silky smooth. My panther Thank You for listening

My cat "BLACKIE" has brilliant GREEN eyes though when silhouetted in bright sunlight, he appears a deep sable brown.

Black kittehs tend to "rust" in strong sunlight, showing that the melanin in their fur is actually a very deep brown and not true black _purr se._ Hugs to your dear Blackie, and purrs from my sable familiar Tarbelle.
