Swapped my monthly roadtrips to germany for belgium last year. Awesome city centers for walks. They even beat ours in Holland. I have to drive very deep into germany from holland to find equally beautifull city centers.

Thank you. Belgium is beautiful. We were there in May and 24 days in that part of the world wasn’t nearly long enough to see the sights. Made my head spin trying to take it all in.

Thanks for your comment. Belgium is extremely dense in cultural and natural treasures but, as it's largely underrated, foreign visitors almost invariably plan too little time to see it.

Great video, I wish there was a sure way to make money while traveling or on vacation without lifting a finger.

Where are the more outdoorsy, fun charms???

Not my first choice but Belgium has some good points. I suggest Brugge as a base. From there everything is in easy reach.

Bruges is undeniably a gem and not just for tourists: as a local, I've visited Bruges countless times without ever growing tired of it. That being said, it's not central enough to serve as a base for the whole of Belgium (it would be a 2 hour train ride to Liège or Dinant, for example, not to mention the Ardenne region). If you want an alternative to Brussels (which is the geographical centre of the kingdom), Ghent, Mechlin or Leuven can be handy and practical bases.

As a Belgian I wouldn't recommend Leuven, Tournai or Mons. And in the southern part of the country there is a lot of beautiful nature and landscapes you didn"t mention.

1) At 09:08, why on earth do you display a picture of Trier cathedral as part of the section devoted to Tournai?! Trier is in Germany, not in Belgium (it used to be the capital of Gallia Belgica, granted - but that was in Roman times !). What a terrible piece of crap! 2) The city that you refer to as "Mechelen" is called "Mechlin" in English. If you decide to make this video in English, speak proper English please. As a conclusion, Belgium is a great, vastly underrated country, granted - but your video contains two glaring errors.

With this attitude you'll be very disappointed here since most of us have become atheists. Especially now with the huge scandal of child abuse at churches. I too am ashamed and embarrassed to have been baptized. That's how it used to be in the early days keeping us poor and dumb with religion.
