To be fair, I wouldn't include cities like Seville or Naples in this list, simply because Seville and Naples are among the most important cities of Europe. They are not "hidden gems".

Many good ideas for travelling, but I agree too that Naples and Seville are so wellknown that it’s a surprise to be listed here !
As an Italian living in Italy, I can say that Naples has become a very touristic city in the last years, so it isn’t underrated anymore. Turin is definitely more underrated than Naples (between foreign tourists)

Very good choices. Several of the mentioned cities belong to my favorites, too - like Graz, Bern, Thessaloniki, Ljubljana and Trieste. What about a Dutch city such as Leiden or Den Bosch? Just with Seville I feel that it does not quite fit on a list of „underrated“ cities because it is actually world-famous for some of its buildings, its flamenco shows and allure and, thus, attracts around 2 million tourists annually. There are less famous cities in Spain that are stunning, for instance Bilbao, Cuenca or Salamanca. But overall an inspiring video!

Fyi, if you didn`t know yet, how to travel in Europe cheap and flexible: With the famous Interrail-Ticket (Eurail-Ticket for Non-EU-People) you can travel by train super easy and cheap. They offer different passes, that include a certain number of days to travel, that you can choose super flexible. This day costs about 60 Eur in the most expensive pass (4 days in 1 month) or 43 Eur (8 days in 2 months) up to a whole month of traveling every day for about 300 Eur. Super nice opportunity to discover all this cities. ☀ Side note: As a EU-habitant you get two days of travel in your own home country and some speed trains, in some countries, require an extra seat reservation.

In Italy : Turin, Perugia, Ancona, Genoa, Udine, Bari, Parma, etc. Well, every region has a lot to offer in terms of cities, but Rome, Florence, Venice and Naples get most of international interest. In France : Lyon, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Marseille, Quimper, Bastia, Nancy, Tours, Troyes, Bourges. Basically everywhere is little known by international tourists in France, except Paris, Strasbourg and Cote d'Azur by international tourists. In Greece : Ioanina, and yes, Thessaloniki. Not many cities since arhitecture is usually brutalist but tourists concentrates in Athens and the Islands whereas the country has plenty to offer everywhere. In central Europe, most cities have a beautifully preserved centre (and horrible outskirts).
Great destinations!❤

Even as a European, I discovered some interesting hints here, such as Trieste. On the other hand some of these are not that much off the "beaten bath" but probably simply off the "Europe in 10 days"-path or jusst short off the victims of extreme overtourism. I actually live in Bern and I can assure you that we get a lot of tourists in the summer. I am also often in Thessaloniki because I have relatives there. It makes me wonder why Americans tend to go for cities so much. I find the real gems in small towns and villages. for example instead of Thessaloniki - which I find very loud and chaotic - why not go to Kavala. or when in Bern, explore the small historical towns around it such as Fribourg, Solothurn or Thun.
