Players back then played all or close to all 82 games and still won back to back championships. Team’s star players didn’t sit out pivotal games because they were injured from not playing enough. Today’s game is 95% outside shooting. Back then you had to have an inside and outside game plus play hard nose defense. Traveling was actually called back then. Players didn’t take 4/5 non dribbling steps to get to the rim. Players were better skilled with the fundamentals.

I think both these teams deserve their flowers. Denver coming back from a 0-2 then winning 3 straight games reminding people why they're the champs. And Minnesota finishing big winning a game 7 on the road coming back from a 20-point deficit demonstrating why they're the best defense. I mean, this was an amazing, exciting, hard fought series. I fully enjoyed it. And I love that no champ has been able to even get past round 2 in the following playoffs; it shows how much more competitive the league is getting to the point that "dynasties" don't even form anymore. Every year we have a different beast.
