This isn’t anything to do with celebrities. This is people on the right being attacked by people on the left with a couple the other way round to make it seem balanced. The sort of trick mainstream media does to bamboozle midwits.

The invitation to Nick Griffin was a pivot point for Question Time. Yes, he was rightly called out for his appalling views, but it created drama and increased viewing figures. As a result, we've seen 'controversial', often right wing, figures invited repeatedly irrespective of their and their parties' representation in UK politics. Whatever you think of his politics, he's a tough nut to crack, compared to this lot. He's usually well prepared and has a sharp mind and a quick wit. I remember him agreeing to go before the Senate, or House committee in the Us. They were expecting to drag him across the coals. Instead he meticulously dissected their arguments, factually, rationally and with wit and humour. He wiped the floor with them! Most semi-competent MPs could probably do the same. The House of Commons is a whole different kettle of fish to the Senate or House of Representatives. It sharpens you up in the game of confrontational exchanges and for all his moments of ridiculousness, (and some of those are deliberate, being not aimed at a mainstream audience) George Galloway is one of the best at it.

The lies about inheritance tax need addressed. 1. The £325k is in addition to £175k if you own a property. This means it is £500k. 2. If you are married or in a civil partnership then spouses can transfer these limits therefore giving £1m in assets total (after deducting debts). 3. What needs to be addressed is the limit not changing with inflation. 4. The tax does not impact 96% of people. It is unpopular because the richest in society have pursued this issue in the media.

Ian Hislop...... Legend.
So Farage was right then, and Izzard completely missed the point, as always (Farage isn't "against immigration" obviously....). And.......?
Actually inheritance tax only applies to anything after the first 500k. This doesn't apply if you inherit from a spouse, and if you're a child inheriting from a parent who has inherited from their spouse then the it only applies after the first 1 million. So if both your married parents die and you inherit 1.1 million from their estate. You only pay tax on 100k. More than reasonable I would say.
