@5:51... I definitely like the idea of shorter throttle throw / wrist turn when going for yeet! That said there is another problem this could create. Jerky off on throttle response. Something riders can have difficulty with is smooth off to on throttle transitions. For example when throttling out of a corner after hitting that apex. Some bikes have very twitchy initial throttle even with stock throttle tubes. I've had two bikes in the past with that problem. It was a deciding factor in me getting rid of that bike. The problem with a longer throw throttle tube is this problem is amplified. What would be awesome to see is a longer throw tube with a progressive design. BMW did something like that with their throttle cable operated cars a while back. Would have been nice to see this tried on motorcycles as well. For those who are curious those two motorcycle models were the 1998 Suzuki TL1000S and 2007 Honda ST1300.

I'm researching for mid-range (600cc to 900cc) naked bikes that I will also use for touring in summer (around 4 to 5 hours tours). I am considering the trident 660 as I love its rounded classic looks (the competition has that "transformers" looks that I cannot digest), but is it good for touring? Also the Rebel 1100 (I know, not a naked but apparently a good commuter bike) but I am conscious about its performance for the price. What would be the best naked-ish bike for touring? Thanks guys.

The steel braided brake lines are not just for Squiding around. I have two Suzuki Intruder VL1500's. One has braided lines, the other one has the originals. The difference is HUGE. I dare to go a lot faster on the one with braided lines. just saying... Wind protection are probably awesome for someone at normal hight. I'm 6'8" and I hate all windscreeen because when they keep other riders free from wind, they always hit me in the middle of the helmet and it's aweful. Tires - YES, as good as you possibly can get!

Careful with extended swingarms, if someone actually does it. The manufacturer's engineers calculate loads in the rear suspension linkage bearings and pick appropriate bearings for the load. If you extend your swingarm, you increase the load on the bearings and will wear them out in no time if you go over their rated capacity.

Panigale V2 owners beware: the R&G frame sliders don't work on this bike. The clip-ons, mirrors and shifter or rear brake lever will take one for the team before the sliders in a zero MPH drop. Don't ask how I know. Moreover, they're a big install. However, they look good and may help in a real slide. But then, That's what insurance is for.

Sometimes, adding a windshield or fairing doesn't keep the wind off of you. It just jets the air right into your helmet and makes it loud even with earplugs. Also, avoid sport helmets unless you're leaned in the crotch rocket crouch. The cut of the helmet will let a lot of air in under the chin. Get a sport touring lid if you ride in a more relaxed posture. Learn from my mistakes.

Your obsession with hating underglow is mad weird bro. Yeah pulsating, breathing, or strobe effects are obnoxious and should be illegal everywhere, but a solid white or light blue to let 4wheelers know you’re there at night is purely a net positive. Of course, I’ve also never been sent flying thru the air because I was in the wrong lane on a blind corner, so I can see how we might think differently 😂

Swing arm spools, nah get a centre stand and roadside repair and maintenance is easy. Crash pods or whatever you wanna call em, nah just don't ride like a jackass and you won't crash. That's my 5 cents, hate me, I don't care!

Be careful with tail tidy, it is illegal to install in many countries (all of EU for example). Stupid laws :(

It's practically illegal everywhere, in all countries. That is: the tail tidy itself is not illegal anywhere. However, there are certain homologation requirements regarding rear light, number plate and indicators' angles of visibility as well as the incidence angle of the plate light to the license plate. I've never seen a tail tidy that is able to meet all of these criteria. (After all, if you design one to meet all criteria you are basically back to the original setup.) However, some countries don't (at least in practice) enforce these regulation on anyone else except the OEM. Source: I'm a motorcycle design engineer with some experience with these requirements.

I won't buy a bike with a tail tidy. They look like crap and are illegal if they don't have a light that illuminates the license plate.
