Sorry, only room for one 20th century pick on this list. 90% of the most emotional speeches took place in the 21st century (and 90% of those after 2015). That makes sense. 10% in first 70 years and 90% in the following 20. Nice effort put into this.

Hattie McDaniel won an Oscar but couldn’t even go to the movie premiere in Atlanta due to segregation. Clark Gable wanted to skip in solidarity, but she asked him not to. Unfortunately, Hattie’s Oscar has been lost. The Academy should give her a Governors Award.

Joaquin Phoenix's 2020 Best Actor Oscar acceptance speech was very beautiful and very honest. Phoenix's speech should have been either in the top 5 of this list or at least an honorable mention. My favorite part of Phoenix's speech was when he used a quote from a lyric his late brother, River, had written before he passed on in 1993. "Run to the rescue with love and peace will follow."

Joaquin Phoenix absolutely deserved to be on this list. Instead of talking about his achievements, he took a moment to talk about the animal rights and his late brother. What a legend!

How did Alex Borstein's Emmy speech where she talked about her grandmother's escape from the Holocaust not make the list????

Dan Levy's acceptance speech at the GLAAD Media Awards 2019 was one of the most emotional acceptance speeches I ever heard. Dan spoke of how difficult it was to see the person that he had crushed on in secret fall in love with somebody else. Wow! That broke my heart to hear him say that. But he bounced back from it and had some great female friends who kept his secret for him.

Hattie McDaniel ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY deserved to be #1 on this list! NONE of the other poc individuals on this list would have been possible without her paving the way first! This is why I will ALWAYS love Gone with the Wind. (Book and movie.)

Ben Platt's Tony (He was so young and so excited. And I don't want to hear anything about nepotism...If anyone was lucky enough to see Ben Platt play Evan Hansen on Broadway, you know how much he deserved that award.) Nicole Kidman's Oscar ("I always wanted to make my mother proud, and now I want to make my daughter proud.") Christian Bale's Oscar (He cried! And big, tough Christian Bale never cries. Even he was shocked by it.) Joaquin Phoenix's Oscar (The mention of his late brother. ❤) I'm sure I can think of more. Olivia Colman's Oscar speech was also fantastic, but that made me laugh more than cry. And when she said, "This won't happen again," I think she was VERY wrong. Oprah's speech in the wake of the "Me Too" movement was incredibly powerful. Meryl Streep at the 2017 Golden Globes. (This one doesn't need commentary. If you know, you know.)

I think Troy Kotsur should have been on the list for Supporting Actor at the Oscars last year. Because of the drama, all the other wins were forgotten.

Good video, but why didn’t Ms Mojo show part of the speeches of the first black woman to get an Oscar, Hattie McDaniel or the fist black woman’s speech who got best actress, Halle Berry? Parts of their speeches could have been shown by cutting some of the time of other speeches and was easily possible. 😞

Yeah, those are great speeches and all, but Will Smith’s emotional speech at the Oscars last year should’ve been #1 (I’m not going to talk about the slap). He gave his performance very well in King Richard that lead him to become the first black actor to win an Oscar for Best Actor, something the Oscars should’ve done in a long time since the Best Actor award was always given to a white man.
