Of the lot I prefer #2, the Kintetsu. Beautifully designed with clear tinted windows for the driver and passengers and a clean, comfortable interior seating and dining area. Modernistic, realistic and very nice...... Love it..... If possible, I'd like to see the train route for this train with a mounted camera cab view for the journey. Much appreciated...... Thanks in advance....

Japan has the world’s very best passenger & commuter train network. I rode on a commuter train Express from Downtown Yokosuka to Tokyo, the trip with only 6 stops took only 45 minutes and the train stations are very clean. I rode also on the Tokyo subway, very clean stations, clean trains, very efficient. Japan is into model railroading in N gauge big time.

Having ridden on many of Japan's trains over the past 20 years, I believe they are all beautiful. I think the last Kodama was removed from service a couple of years ago. That deserved an honorable mention as the first Shinkansen. Hopefully, I will get to travel on the Maglev when going to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

are you sure? kzread.info/dash/bejne/pH5hx8aOdrGuYpM.html this station is dedicated only to high speed trains (high speed = AV alta velocità in italian) and actually in japan, china, france, germany, italy, spain, russia and other countries like taiwan and south korea the standard speed for high speed commercial on railway is up to 360km/h. magnetic levitation technology is another story and the siemens (germany so european) maglev project is at the top level like the japanise maglev project too.

I agree with 6 of 10. Personally, I would pick JR West 283, Kurushio/Ocean Arrow; Shinkansen E3; JR East 657 Hitach & HOT 7000 Super Hakuto instead of Skyliner, E6, E653 & Meitetsu 2000. Not sure about the order except 500 is #1. Japan is best country in the world for trains.
