Italy is always kept out of these "top ten" idiocies simply because on old 1940s british propaganda crap. On the other hand Germany, that is militarily very weak because of weapons embargo and limits kept untill the late '90s (and also the presence of huge NATO bases in Germany that make having a strong military useless), is always in the list although even a baby can see that the numbers are very weak (like 86 fighter jets...like Iraq and less than one third of Egypt). These "top ten" are mostly made by fanboys without any real military knowledge, many of which lack even basic math abilities (just to mention Italy has 286 battle ready jets including Eurofighter, Tornado and F-35...AWACS capabilities and KC-135 tankers...they have 2 aircraft carriers and a shitload of armor and artillery, 2 Horizon class (US AEGIS equivalent but newer) destroyers and a shitload ofspecial forces (4 units classify NATO tier 1, 3 classify NATO tier 2 and 6 units classify NATO Tier 3)...yet they an't liste

I think Turkey will be a superpower by the year 2021 because of its strategic location and political power in the region. There is even a book called "the next 100 years" which is quite famous, it says that Turkey and Japan will be an Superpower in the future and a regional one in their region saying that they are even gonna challenge the United States which will lose its political power globally because of the emerging superpowers. The author of this book has been studying all countries through out his life and has a lot of knowledge about politics. You should read this book because I thinks it's really interesting.
