    Cam ok lol. How come half the QBs in the NFL can’t do it? And why is it considered impressive. I love how u think u can throw it 70 yards in the air like that.

  • @cam42704

    @cam42704

    3 жыл бұрын

    Nicola Phillips he has A 70, 60, and 50 yarder. An above average QB can throw a Hail Mary that barely requires any accuracy. The reason why most QB’s can’t do it because most QB’s in their career never end up throwing Hail Mary’s, if it’s not successful media doesn’t care about your arm strength. Then when you attempt as many as Green Bay does eventually you’ll get some. Never said I could lob a ball 70 yards but at least could get it way farther than the “football fans” watching this video. Arm Strength is not talent or skill, so people were born with naturally stronger arms they don’t need to work out/or not as much. Same thing with legs are extremely genetic so if someone doesn’t have strong legs then they most likely never.

  • @nic5373

    @nic5373

    3 жыл бұрын

    Cam just because someone is born with slightly stronger genes doesn’t mean they won’t put effort into arm strength. By saying that it’s simply genetics diminishes the efforts qbs have to put in. While throwing the ball 50-70 yards might not be impressive for an above average qb a Hail Mary is. You’re definitely right that most teams don’t have too through them but to have consistent catches on Hail Marys like Rodgers does is certainly impressive. To some degree it is just throwing the ball in the air but it still needs to be placed in a catchable position which is hard to achieve. (Also having arm strength like that is very difficult even for some qb. I don’t believe I have ever seen someone like Brady through over 50 yards in an arc. But please correct me if I’m wrong)

    Exactly. If I'm not mistaken, having possession of the ball and going down is when the play stops. Golden Tate never had enough of a grip for it to be challenged. Jennings had possession, went down, and yet Golden Tate thought he could cheat his way into a catch

    This was during the referee strike. They saw the replay and still called it a touchdown which dumbfounded everybody. What a joke of a call. This is the play that ended the strike and gave the true ref's what they wanted.

  • @Falcon4224

    @Falcon4224

    7 жыл бұрын

    Technically, you can't use video review to determine who has possession of the football, only if a player made a catch or not (inbounds, juggling, etc). Even if they saw something that made them change their minds, the refs are not legally allowed to change that call from a catch to a pick. However, it is worth noting that the rulebook does not state how much of the ball is required in order to have possession. These types of plays are so rare that the distinction was never needed in the rulebook. It's up to the refs in order to make a judgement call, and with a play that quick and the appearance of the struggle afterwards, you can't really blame them for making that decision. If you want to prevent calls like this, define possession in the rulebook and allow possession plays to be reviewable. That's how you fix this.

  • @syke_low1957

    @syke_low1957

    Falcon4242 Please, Jennings had that ball the whole way. He caught it with both his hands and tucked it into his chest. Tate then grabbed Jennings and did his best to make it seem like he caught it. If the real referee's saw this on replay it would be an easy decision. Not to mention the two conflicting choices between two referee's on the same call.

    Actually...no--seeing as how (though it's often highlighted: since it was "the latest" within the same rivalry) Minnesota pulled that...off (once, maybe, twice beforehand, already) AGAINST the Cowboys? I forget if I was there (we had season tickets), but, unmistakably: Pearson's catch was "pay-back", only? (I mean, it was sorta...FUNNY: since they'd pulled off--what we...HAD against themselves, formerly, right? "Funny"--NOT SO...funny, however?) I wouldn't have any idea WHERE TO find those earlier days? (Like I'm saying: 1-2 times beforehand the "Vikes" did that to the...Cowboys?) Where'd that rivalry...go?
