There area suprising number of clears I've done where simply adding Ange to the squad has been the difference between a complete loss and a flawless victory.

Somehow not surprised Humus is easily in the top 3 boob wise... we're proud of him and the car he doesn't know about...

One funny thing about cutter talent; if you're using her S1 and the enemies are somewhat far away, the S1 blade can trigger her talent and give her SP. The damage condition isn't tied to being a normal attack, and the SP lockout ends before S1 blades can land

People are going nuts about Ulpianus' potential HP% regen with all AH buffs approaching something like 350 hp/s. Meanwhile, my maxed out Perfumer in IS2 with Bladedance was doing that for the whole team with her S2 active over a year ago.

@@zball_6396 Puzzle S1 gives +3DP every 6th hit (5SP), wich is decent enough already, but attacking a full hp enemy give him +2SP, wich mean that in any event that have a permanant target he can attack that doesn't lose hp (exemple:the recent Virtuosa event) he outperform every other vanguard, including flagbearers, as it give a +3DP/3sec, (it also work in any stage pairing him up with Stainless but in require more setup) As for his S2, it's stong enough to take down the mech from Dorothy's vision in 2 cycle, without any buff, and it scale pretty well with buffs.

The ONLY thing bad about Ethan is that his yoyo graphics have ugly straight lines instead of smooth curves

My favourite 4* medic gameplaywise (characterwise gotta be Gavial) is probably Purestream, her s1 is just so fun. But overall most fun 4* for me is ethan, permabind just feels so fun.

Maybe the math doesnt work out the way it looks on paper, I havent checked it, but its good to have the options and a healer who actually occupies my brainspace. Especially when shes THAT cute

Purestream is my favorite medic to use overall. Although Shining often takes her place in regular AFK setups, I still find her kit to be extremely fun and versatile to use in IS, almost always my first pick whenever I get a medic voucher.

I don't use Purestream much myself, as for that archetype, I really like Whisperain. Her kit is good enough that they ripped it off for Eyja alter. Gavial and Perfumer are the two four star medics I like to use. I just like medics that also do heals over time (which is part of why I like Whisperain).

I still find it fascinating that one of the most dangerous armaments in RI's arsenal is a trick yo-yo. Also, Peacake detected. Metal Crab supremacy!

A shame silence as an ability isn't as useful anymore, I think Podenco S2 is awesome when I can just tell an enemy to shut up for 6 seconds (saved me way too many times in the H9-X stages when I needed both crowd control and silence to allow my arts units to shred the Gargoyles).

Joined the game near the start of Dorothy's Vision Rerun, been maxing out my three stars and building a few other rarities at this point; post Il Siracusa rerun, I'm close to maxing Catapult and Orchid, with Adnachiel and Cardigan at E1 Lvl 20ish. Have a handful of four (Dobermann, Jaye, Jessica) and a few five stars (Jessalter, Amiya, Archetto) built up as well. The video more or less reaffirmed the next set of operators I've been leveling up like Cutter and Ethan. Really cool to see how far a team of three and four stars can take you and can't wait for the reruns for Come Catastrophes and Zwillingsturme so I demolish those stages with a fully built team.

I'm bad at bursting down bosses so for the recent il sira rerun beanstalk made it really funny to stall out zaaro phase 1 bc of all her crabs eating the fear debuff. Two letters that make fully building 4-stars worth it even for those with lots of high-rarity ops built: IS. I dunno how many times I've been in an IS run, desperately needed an op for a core role, and didn't have enough 'hope' to recruit my usual 5- or 6-star, but I have a 4-star of the same class built who does 90% of the job or better.

Spot is a lot better as a burst healer, but his long downtime makes it so he doesn't work as well as a substitute healer before you pick up a good medic, and his low stats make it so he folds like wet tissue paper against any mildly threatening enemy. If I can't afford Gummy, he's always my second pick, but I usually find myself wishing he was Gummy instead.

​@@fieldrequired283 Downtime isn't that long, and Gummy sustained hps is pretty mediocre So, there's not much Gummy can sustain through in IS3/4 that can't wait for Spot Conversely, since Gummy just instantly blows all her S1 charges, she's really unreliable for burst heal, and S2 delayed heals+short duration on healing means it's easy to mess up the timing on it in most early-mid stages, you only need healing vs specific enemies/waves anyways Gummy does tank a lot better, but spot works in a pinch since he's good enough vs most mobs and the phys evade often makes up the difference during skill

from this day onwards I shall follow your path, Silvergun sensei. I'm glad that the 4 star ops have been given the spotlight, 6 stars in most vids were getting a bit bland for me so this was definitely a fresh breath of air for me and yes I agree with all of your points, from Utage's MASSIVE reasons and Pinecone

The Ambusher modules just make me sad everytime I see it. HG just decided Manticore S1 is pretty good so let's put it on everyone.

Manticore is still very strong though, if an enemy takes 1s to cross a tile she makes them take 2.5s now, while the others still take 1.25s assuming no CC. MSR only gets stronger the more you add, the difference between 60% and 80% is 2x!

6:37 My theory is Hypergryph designed this subclass with Firewatch in mind and then remembered they have to release more operators for this subclass. Firewatch specializes in killing ranged enemies and the large range + high ATK + low DEF priority is exactly the kind of combo that works against ranged enemies.

Ambriel will forever be useful in the "global range knights" meta. Eventually we will get another operator for it. Hopetully. My Goldenglow, Ambriel and Dorothy kinda feel lonely in there.

My favorite thing about Ambriel, and one of my favorite things in Arknights period, is her Japanese "Doctah!" when she's assigned to a base facility. That alone should be enough to earn her a slot on any top 10 list.

Right before you got to her i was wondering if you'd mention Indigo. I put her to E2 recently and was honestly surprised at her performance. I've not played with this archetype much, even though i have Eben at E2. I put her up because i was bored and she is hot. I find her very fun with great animations.

Thanks for making this. As a new player who only started two weeks ago I've watched a bunch of videos covering low-tier operators and funnily enough this one brings up a ton of operators that nobody else mentions and then shows gameplay where they are excelling. Going by everybody else you'd think that only Myrtle, Ethan, Cutter, and Cuora are worth bothering with.

I actually wouldn't reccomend cutter for a new player She is one of the strongest 4* for sure but the gap between her e1 and e2 is enormous. As a rule physical operators scale better with levels. This is because DEF reduces physical damage by a flat number. So if you have an enemy with 500 DEF an operator with 700 ATK would do twice as much as an operator with 600 ATK

@@DrSilvergun That makes sense. My first (and only currently) e2 is Ethan, and I don't regret having him as it's been rare to find a map where he doesn't put work in. I wanted to rush somebody up so I could use e2 supports and finish the Il Siracusano event before it was over. I got lucky and pulled Exusiai from a Top Op recruitment and am thinking of doing her e2 next - I love her design and getting her stats up (and her s3) seems like it'll give me a solid dps choice for most maps. Plus Ethan bind with her to spray everything down seems good. I just wish that event skin didn't cost more to ship than the plushie itself :(

I'm a new doctor and sometimes I got low confidence for not having many high rarity operators. But you inspire me by proving that 4☆s are capable of clearing high leveled stages also. Thankyou for inspiring me, keep doing what you do! 🥰

Glad most of my favourites make it here, especially Vigna who carried me back near launch for years. Smol demon go stab stab and kills everyone. Only other favourites that weren’t there are Luo Xiaohei (because S1 is very funny) and Shaw, because her OP recs are surprisingly heavy hitting for such a silly squirrel. Finally reading what her potential tokens were about after 3+ years hurt…

Lacks Mousse but solid list overall. You could make a top 10 Launch 4* video too and it would be mostly different operators. 4* arent released frequently enough to receive Year 2/3 etc videos.

For a while during the early-mid game, Matoimaru S2 was my absolute best damage-per-hit physical DPS source. She does help fill a gap in the early game.

Even with all the higher rarity/broken af 6 starts I have, my heart still belongs to Arene, Gavial, Totter, and Jaye. Also I'm so glad newer 4 stars have more interesting designs now instead of just moe moe all around, it was what turned me off from using them in the first place. Totter was a love at first sight for me.

Maybe not the best but Jaye hold special place in my heart. He carry my 2 weeks old account through Stultifera Navis, managed to go through SN-EX-5 with a 3 star team + captain Jaye. He is the first operator I maxed out

All this video did was further give me reason to level and upgrade the various 4 stars I've been meaning to. It helps that the grind to do so doesn't make me want to do something else like it does for 6 and even 5 stars.

Indigo is fun. I usually don't play nicheknights (except rangedknights once in a while) but I have her maxed out and regularly use her for no reason.

Surprised not to see mention of May, I've found her to be super strong and frequently pick her over other options in IS D15. Especially combined with Ethan/Click/Indigo (as you have yourself often demonstrated) she is just bonkers with her CC, and synergizes with most of the best relics as well as does decent damage.

Probably my favorite four star to use is Jackie. Sure, she's basically a charger vanguard that doesn't generate DP, so essentially pointless, but I like that that scrappy little underdog anyway.

I max leveled Indigo way back purely because she's hot (flat is justice), but I haven't gotten around to module and M3 yet... I really should max her and Ethan out for whenever I really just don't want to deal with bullshit like "enemies moving". Also because I just discovered Fiammetta's module 2 and now feel obligated to max it out for spicy chicken shenanigans. I mean, if I have one 3x3 zone that no one ever leaves, what else am I going to do, not nuke it?

Podenco is also a fine unit that does so much with her S2 (her S1 is very niche so we don't talk about that). She used to show up a lot in my squad but I feel like the newer content doesn't benefit her as much nowadays. Also she hasn't showed up in recent 4* only clears too, perhaps a change of mind or what caused her to fell off?

podenco my fave 4s entirely bc whenever i followed a kyo guide and he said bring a slow supporter "orchid works fine but ifyou have suzuran or someone else they work too" but i didnt have suzuran, i wanted to Not use orchid, and angelina doesnt fucking attack so i love podenco for just being a slow supporter who yknow. isnt suzuran, orchid, and actually attacks. this was from early on so i dont think i had istina or glaucus yet like i just wanted someone better than orchid... love totter :pray:

Honorary mention for Pudding. Her S2 can bounce back to the same target, so when attacking enemies in pairs, she deals 2 hits to one and 3 hits to another, for an average 525% damage per target (after accounting for the on-skill attack bonus). In IS, I will recruit Passenger if I get Hand of Diffusion, but Pudding is an insta-pick whether I have the Hand or not.

@@DrSilvergun Ah, thanks for the reference. Ran some tests and can confirm that you are right. Despite what the in-game description says, Pudding only hits 4 targets even with S2 and/or module. Danged HG translation team, I suppose.
