I liked 1982's FF 🛩 but the first 40% or so is slow, puts along. Once Gant gets to the Fire Fox it picks up. 🎬

The other fun fact is that there will never be a MiG-28 fighter. MiG uses odd numbers for fighters and even numbers for civil aircraft. They haven’t built many civil aircraft however with the last being the MiG-8 Utka that was a three seat utility aircraft that was a swept wing low speed test bed in 1945.

@@edbrown6985 You've obviously never seen a Valkyrie, then. When something "takes cues from", that does NOT mean "is identical to". The MiG 28 IS in fact, an F-5. It doesn't take cues from an F-5, it literally IS an F-5. Here's an example that might be more relatable. The NX-2000 (later the NCC-2000 after its experimental stage had ended) Excelsior looks like a constitution class vessel if the Japanese developed the Enterprise. Same basic layout with significantly different features. Clearly, the firefox is a fighter. The Valkyrie is a bomber. The Firefox has 2 primary engines and 4 secondary engine, while the Valkyrie has 6 engines. But the engine intakes in the valkyrie insired the design of the Firefox' engie intakes. The canard fuselage, and forward wing.... there are definite similarities.

Here's some I liked.1. Darkstar , top gun 2. 2022 . star car , the last starfighter 1982. The switchblade, I spy , 2002. Scorpion gunship, avatar 2009. The LAAT , attack of the clones. 2002. The drones in green lantern, 2011. Yes I liked green lantern movie , so shoot me. Lol😊

the real life MIG-31 firefox was MIG-31 foxhound, the advanced version of MIG-25 foxbat.

The Firefox was *awesome!* Great book and great movie! Couple that with the fact that the movie starred Clint Eastwood and that's good enough for me!

I've seen FF 🛩 a few times. The first 40% or so is droll, cloak & dagger 🗡 spy stuff. The last part is great! Action, SFX, humor. The author wrote a sequel. Firefox Down. Gant lives but is hunted by GRU, KGB, Spetnaz...

X-jet landing on a heli-carrier will be a sight to behold. 💪🏾

Mig-31 FireFox appeared in the Video game/Arcade game Sonic wings/Aero Fighters made by Video System as one of the bosses ( It's much larger than the Movie version)

Ditch the ones that are real planes with only fictional names, pick only one from Stealth, and then add Airwolf and/or Blue Thunder.

Always loved the mig 31 fire fox movie, it was not too long ago b4 that movie was made that the world really thought the mig 25 foxbat was some dirt of super jet. Until 1976 when a soviet pilot defected to japan with a mig 25 anf proved it was mere mortal...lol

The MiG 25 was a pretty good jet but it wasn't what the Air Force thought it was. They assumed it was built like an American jet, with a lot of titanium and other light materials. So when they saw this jet with huge wings and engines and then tracked it doing mach 2.8, they got terrified. They thought it was a highly agile fighter with a top speed only exceeded by the SR-71. Then that defecting Russian brought them a brand new one. They discovered it was made largely of steel and weighed as much as a battleship. It was in fact a pure interceptor, it couldn't turn to save it's life but it could go really fast to intercept US spy planes and bombers. Those huge wings weren't there to make it agile, it needed those wings to generate enough lift to keep the heavy bitch in the air. Still, while it was a crudely built jet by NATO standards it was still an effective one. It's raw speed meant it could fire long range missiles and run away before anyone could kill it. Not good for dogfighting F-15's but really good for shooting at bombers and AWACS.

@@Elthenar the mig 25 that was clocked at mach 3 at 100,000 feet was an RC model and the ebgines had to be trashed after each flight...i read the jet was built to shoot down the B 70 bomber....the mach 3 super bomber that scared the soviets as much as the fox bat did tge west...

@@williamduckworth305 The idea behind the MiG-25 was that it would only ever need to hit that mach 3 number once. If there was a nuclear war and it needed to intercept a high speed bomber with nukes, if it can hit mach 3 and make the kill before that bomber can attack no one will care if the plane needs new engines when it lands.

@@Elthenar it could only hit mach 3 in recon mode , it had to be clean...no weapons.. But 2 .8 in military mode was plenty fast enough for it to do the job that u described...

THUNDERBIRD 2 will always be my most favorite fictional aircraft!! :D

I always liked the modified amphibious Curtiss P-40 Warhawk from "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow". Pretty much everything else from that movie would fit on the list too. I'm kind of Retro that way.

The dragon gunship in avatar and the flying aircraft carrier in the avengers are pretty awesome too.

The problem arises when you take into account it's in the movie less than the Firefox and doesn't get the same focus as the ones on this list. It's use in the movie is similar to the Hydra jet bomber in Captain America which is probably why neither cracked the top 10.

The V wing jet from GI Joe with Slip Stream was high tech. The USAF looked into the R&D but the concept had flaws. COBRA's ✈️ Viper a re designed A10 🐗 was slick.

Although DeLorean is cool and can fly however I wouldn't quite classify a car as an aircraft...

The LAPD vehicle from the Blade Runner films, 1982, 2018 looked cool. I'm not sure of the formal name. I don't think they could reach space.

My Favorite is #5. Mig -41 Firefox.

The Marvel helicarrier is so stupidly designed: All the idea of an angled deck is to allow an aircraft to continue flight in case of no hook catch, but in the helicarrier it would be sucked by a turbine.

Also, how would those turbines handle seawater? Salt water and magnetic turbines don't seem like a good mix. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the angled deck was stupid - it could only be used when in the carrier was in the water or with VTOL craft.

The V-280 Valor has a definite Samson look.

You folks need to watch Top Gun They explained it when Charlie appears to the Pilots and RIOs Charlie would say that A-4 and F-5 will be used as aggressor for training purposes and proceeded to explain about MiG-28 being a modified F-5 with different capabilities and Maverick cut in saying her data was innaccurate

The EDI did not try to "earn anyones respect" it was struck by lightning, causing it to malfunction.

I find the lack of propeller planes disturbing. You could have added onto the list some of the sky crawlers planes like the J-2 or Sanka Mk B or Someaka. Not only that but I feel that putting in a plane that exists in real life but is use in a movie by a different name should be replaced by a different plane.
