    I bought myself 2 chargers for mine. One for the bathroom, because I take it off to shower so it forces me to remember to charge it when I’m in there. The other is next to my bed for when I sleep!

    @@mammabear379 the key is to have 2 chargers with one that is next to your bed for example and that won't move. Even if I can't find the other and I have to go on vacation I don't take it. And if its my phone charger, then I will buy one new where I go and keep this extra charger on my suitcase/bag. I promise I havent loose any chargers with this technique.

    We got my grandfather an Apple Watch after my grandmother died for safety reasons. I was afraid that he would put it in the charger in the evening and end up not having it on if he fell it something. I haven’t checked to see if this is actually a thing, but my idea was to see if we could buy two charging cases so he could leave the cases on the charger then switch them out when he needs to. That way he’d never need to take it off to charge.

    Lol if something isn't in my direct line of sight, I completely forget it ever existed. Clear containers are amazing! Or at least ones that have lil slots or something where you can see in side. Or open-top baskets and bins! Super super helpful!! 😁 I still forget about most of the things I own and love, BUT they still help a lot. And rediscovering my stuff is like Christmas 😅

    I got diagnosed at 27 (a year ago) and I just realized that one of my more helpful gadgets were my Apple Watch. It broke 2 weeks ago and I’ve been without since and I can’t function like before. I’m in a super funk and I realized the biggest difference is that I don’t have my watch and the features it has that have helped me tremendously. It’s incredible how these things can really change things for us 🥺 I’m waiting on my new one and it’s like needing a drug, I want it NOW 🙈 other things that have helped me a lot is my google nest/smart lights/smart speaker and my robot vacuum. Wouldn’t want to be without any of them 😍

    Clear organizational tools!!! Why didn't I think of that? Those with ADHD tend to struggle with object permanence so if you cant see it, you simply dont think about it.... what else you got for me? **keeps watching**

  • @zachhanks4399

    @zachhanks4399

    Жыл бұрын

    That’s not true, and that’s not what “object impermanence” is. Object impermance is a normal quality of the psychology of humans when they are babies - if they perceive an object, for them the object literally “exists.” If they cease perceiving it, to them, it literally ceases to exist. That’s why “peek-a-boo” games are so compelling for them - to them, you are functionally disappearing and reappearing like a wizard from Hogwarts. ADHD people lose track of their keys, or forget that we were supposed to put them away after we leave the room, and we might casually joke that "it’s like object impermance!" the way someone might joke “I’m so OCD! I have to have a tidy apartment!" but we don’t imagine that our keys literally vanished from reality just because they’re no longer in our field of vision. ADHD people do often organize “in piles" so we can see the whole when we’re looking for parts, but that’s due to our deficits in working memory.

  • @krystaljewell1987

    @krystaljewell1987

    Жыл бұрын

    @@zachhanks4399 that's because we as adults understand that nothing simply vanishes, but it really does, in effect, vanish from our brains. It's part of why we struggle to maintain relationships properly. Between this phenomena and a terrible sense of time( things are either "right now" or " not yet" ) you don't realize necessarily that ,say, it's been months since you last called back home 😬

  • @zachhanks4399

    @zachhanks4399

    Жыл бұрын

    @@krystaljewell1987 Nope. Has nothing to do with adulthood. The thing that ceases to have our immediate attention really does NOT "vanish from our brains." It has nothing to do with relationships or time. It is not forgetting to call home. It is not a shift in attention. It is not the experience of forgetting. It is not impaired working memory. It is not an ADHD symptom. Object permanence/impermanence is a normal developmental milestone that babies grow out of as toddlers, including the ones with ADHD.

  • @krystaljewell1987

    @krystaljewell1987

    Жыл бұрын

    @@zachhanks4399 I don't know when you may have received the diagnosis or how much research you've put into the condition, but ADHD is no longer classified as just an attention issue, there is a host of other issues that are classified within it and perhaps I am wording all this in a way that you are hung up on a term, but look around at others expirence with the condition, there's no shortage of others sharing , trying to raise awareness. We struggle a lot with "out of sight, out of mind" , maybe this is a symptom you are lucky enough to avoid( and if you are lucky enough to live without this, good for you! You really beat yourself up once the same issue comes up 4,5, 6 times) but it doesn't change that it happens and it happens a lot. Every person's expirence is unique and I can respect that. You may choose to understand your experience however you need to. I'm just working with the information I have available to me and the best way I know how to explain it to other people.

    I might re try using a supplement organizer. I have some of them but they don't have days of the week so I would always forget to take them. I would be a bit careful recommending supplements. As a TCM practitioner is that people think that anything natural is okay. Tumeric is a great herb but it is also a blood thinner which can cause problems for people with heart conditions and blood disorders...just FYI. I have a pressure cooker. I did well when we had a hurricane and bought recipe books for it. I am so bad about cooking even with the pressure cooker. My husband cooks for us. I use Asana but I will check out notion. I use Asana for my entire organization but I do have some issues with it for my business but personally I find it very helpful.

But I know myself well enough that if I did buy all these containers to organize, n I probably would jus because it sounds like it would work. I'd never get around to filling them. I also hate when u cn see what's in everything. Because again knowing me all ud see is a giant mess inside everything. While I know clear containers would work great for most of us, n I'm glad it does, as well as chore lists, they don't work for me. But that's how we learn what does n doesn't work for each of us. Hope you got the diet portion a little more figured out. When I heard cereal and pancakes, I was like 'oof'. For me at least, making sure not to get simple carbs/sugar or even really wheat tends to help a LOT. I can tell pretty quick after eating something like that how it's impacting me now that I'm not too used to it.
