I fell like the worlds toy buying experience kinda went in the toilet around 1987 when kids around the globe in the toy isle all started saying "so we can't afford a video game today?" where as before the phrase was "you've brought me to the place that ignites my imagination and new adventures begin!"

Dan you're so right, My favorite Captain America costume is the Winter Soldier version . My least is the Avengers movie version .

Warduke making the top 10! Absolutely! And I think #7 is an extremely respectable ranking for an awesome fig, that everybody seemed to have, even though the line lasted only two years.

I'm honored to see 2 Transformers figures make the list(1 autobot and 1 decepticon for parity). Also, loved the Hasbro skit.. Please consider more skits lol.

It would probably take me a month to figure out my top 10 all time favorites but Warduke would DEFINITELY be there! Also, love the shout out(?) to the Gabriel Lone Ranger figure as #10 at the end. He's one of the earliest figures I remember getting.

He's awsome besides his garbage staff he can't hold but other than that. I think he holds significance because he's one of the first superheroes. And he's better than aqua man * cough cough*

That figure never showed up in my area and I never bothered to track it down online or anything because I have the Series 2 Namor and I didn't feel like there was much of a difference much less a significant improvement/redesign. Personally I like Aquaman. I have 2 or 3 DCUC Aquaman figures and another 2 or 3 from the 5POA Justice League Unlimited line.

Another enjoyable Top 10. Rather surprised to see that Brainstorm sitting at 10, too. But I picked one up earlier this week, and I can't much fault it (though I'm a bit more partial to the Blur re-tool, myself). Also like that watch you're wearing here. The styling is very much my jam, and I wonder what it is and where you got it.

I think that watch is probably 6 or 7 years old at this point. I believe watch fashion has moved away from that style (which is why I haven't replaced it). It was a gift so I'm not sure what store it was purchased at.

I liked Brainstorm because of how different it was from its mold source, Blurr. How such a basic Cybertronian frame can give you so many possibilities. Also Sentai for the win!

Damn, that D&D Warduke figure is badass. I didn't know really anything about D&D as a kid back then so I had no idea that figure existed. Looking at it, I know I would've loved it.

I love Warduke, and I need to get my hands on one. But my favorite thing about Warduke is that he has official D&D stats and has been roaming around my OSR (the Classic D&D fandom) hexcrawl with a warband of bandits, renegade knights, and monstrous humanoids making life a heck for the peasants.

I still have my Matt Trakker and Thunderhawk *and* I've managed not to lose the bombs!

I get the Brainstorm love. I’m the same way with my G1 Chromedome. He’s a pretty simple Transformer, but for some reason, he ranks as one of my favorites.

scockery that is a top flight list. Personally, I would've put Castle Greyskull in top 5 along with Boulder Hill but that's just me.

Toy Galaxy - please do a review of Fisher Price Adventure People 3 3/4 inch line. so many characters and vehicles. it's like the forgotten original 3 3/4" action figure line. started back in the early-mid 70s and ran into the 80s. they were the "citizens" in my epic battles (usually joe vs cobra)

I always thought the best thing about the Transformers figures was how hard it was to transform them, but now they're all getting easier and easier and that took the fun out of it for me LOL.

My parents couldn't afford them when I was a kid in the 80's. I didn't get my first Transformer until after the live action movie came out in 2007. I'm basing the difficulty on those, not the originals.

I've never known anyone who knew of Warduke other than me. I just rediscovered mine 2 days ago as I was passing on some things to my kids. I actually had to buy a second one back in the day because my sister twisted the first Duke's head off.

Or why 22 year old me waxes such nostalgic about that week back in 1983. life is an onion. and when you peel back the layers you will find every toy that passed through our lives. great list!

Toy Galaxy they did. my friends and I were big on loaning. we used to lay out all of our figures out on the floor and do week long trades. so yes, I remember the one week I had a Fett.

Well.....The kids in my neighborhood weren't all that wealthy. Toys weren't a huge priority for our folks so we were pretty big on loaning and trading.

Yeah didn't see number one coming at all... oh yeah I did. And when you said 27, I was like wait, what?

MASK first season toys were ironically designed by the Japanese guy(who moonlighted to Kenner) Shinji Aramaki, G1 Soundwave, Perceptor and the other micro cassettes. The Bubblegum Crisis Motoslaves and the New He-Man mechs.

I bet if this list was done today, Transformers War For Cybertron Eartrise Sky Lynx would be on this list. ;)

RE: "Collectible" figures. People who like them should buy them and enjoy them. I have a few Pop Vinyls and I had quite a few Mighty Muggs when they were popular (still have my favorites).

I could smell the '79 Boba Fett coming from a mile away.

I remember saving the UPCs to get the free Boba Fett figure with the launching back missle and when I got him, he didn't have it. Due to some lawyer stuff, it changed by the time I received the figure to a red non-firing missile.

That's a hard one. I've drifted away from hardcore collecting in the last few years in favor of retro games, but I've got tons of figures all fighting to get into a top ten. Here's my favorite ten in no particular order because it was hard enough picking ten, so I'm not going to make them fight to the death for the top slot: -Generations Trailblazer. Once upon a time I got a G1 Trailbreaker in a lot of used transformers, and I was quite impressed with him. Then the brand new version came out in 2013 and I was immediately in love with it. -Marauder Task Force. Take GI Joe and make his gear modular. I tend not to play too much with the pouches and stuff. I leave those on the ones I'm using for display purpose because they can fall off rather easily, but they're pretty fun. -Classics Optimus Prime. Growing up my dad was difficult to get along with. He wasn't outright abusive or anything, just antagonistic. He believed that children should be seen and not heard. As I got older things got better, but our relationship was a strained one. One Christmas he gave me a Classics Optimus Prime. It was a duplicate, but I didn't care because my father giving me a toy was unheard of. It represents one of the few shining moments where my father surprised me. We lost my father recently, so I've started to treasure it and the next item on my list even more. -2010 Marvel Masterworks Galactus. If I thought getting Classics Optimus Prime from my dad was a shock, it really blew me away when he got me this. He heard me say that I wanted it, so he got it for me. -POTF2 Boba Fett. I was born in 1982, so by the time I was old enough for Star Wars toys, that well had dried up. There was no eBay so it was impossible to find them, and rumor had it that if you did find them, the figures were worth hundreds of dollars, an impossible sum for a child. In 1995 they started releasing Star Wars toys again (which probably had to do with the release of the special editions in theaters), and the first figure I bought was Boba Fett. One of my friends had brought over an original Boba a few years before, and I was immediately impressed with that sweet Mandalorian armor, so he was the first one I snatched up on that fateful day in 1995. -Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire Luke in Imperial Guard disguise. I really like the design of this figure. He's just really cool looking. -Bossk. The one with the swivel elbows. I don't recall the specific name of the line because I'd stopped paying attention to Star Wars toys at this point since I had all my favorites, but when I saw this one I had to have him. He's a lizard in a space suit. That's just awesome. I've since picked up 3-4 other Bossk figures, but this one is still my favorite. Like a Bossk! -DC's Blackest Night Star Sapphire Wonder Woman for lecherous reasons . . . * shifty eyes * I'm not sorry. :-p -G1 Abominus. This was my first complete combiner. It was my birthday, and my mom gave me three packages to open up. The first was Hun-Grrr, the second had two of the limbs, and I was like "WOW! If I get two more I'll have the whole set!" and then I opened the third package and there were the other two! My mom and I always had a great relationship, but she didn't always know a lot about toys, so the fact that she got me the full set totally blew my mind! The shoulder connectors were assembled a little too tightly, so they didn't move, and when I combined him and tried to move his arm, Rippersnapper's head twisted off immediately. Luckily there was a peg in Abominus' chest piece, so I replaced the head with that and Abominus was whole once more. From then on if I wanted to raise the arm, I'd pull it out and put it back in in the proper position. I was really excited to get the updated version in last year's Power of the Primes assortment. -G1 Power Master Optimus Prime. This was my first OP figure, and it was awesome. I got him from Santa Claus. His trailer became a battle base, OR he could combine with it to become an even more powerful robot! This was another one that I was excited to see updated. Those are my top ten. In terms of the cassettes I was more of a Buzzsaw guy myself. He was gold.

Best Deal With It I've witnessed in my whole life.

Yeah, I wish somebody would finally do a Venger figure though....

Warduke was a great choice to the list I used him with all my 3 3/4 figures back in the 80s. Not having Optimus Prime and the 1984 Storm Shadow on this list seems like a crime to me.
