Many ppl truly do not have the proper appreciation for what it takes to be a good guitarist and also be responsible for being ur own tech, sound guy, ur own studio guy...to have to lay the drum tracks, bass, keys, backing track. Learning to play the guitar is just one task. You have to know your gear upside down and inside out, methods, experimenting, trouble shooting, recording, overdubbing, double tracking, mastering, mixing, editing etc.. and that's just the the sound portion... To get it to a polished composition into video as this gentleman has done takes lots of fkin work! I mean a lot! Full time job with far too little pay. Lay off about the fkin flanger already muppets! The flanger was fine, just needed a lil more dry signal and maybe a double track with straight preamp - no verb or anything. But it was still good work and a trivial complaint. Well done sir, I appreciate you and understand the enormous learning curve, mental capacity, dedication, motivation and infinite amount of work it takes to produce studio sound with video...with 2 hands. Fk all the wanksters/haters who wish they could play as crispy as you bro 🤘and put out a final product that matches yours. Fk em, let em watch from the short bus window.

Thanks my friend, means a lot. I'm glad there are people out there that see it like this, the bigger picture, but even so I don't expect everyone to see it this way. I have fun making these videos (and doing exactly everything you have mentioned). I wish I got comments like this everyday haha

well said! I support that! greetings fom Portugal. Guitarist6494 is just doing better then all those critic wankers, honestly most of them can't even solo a pentatonic, or change between 2 chords without fret buzz!! am I wrong? maybe or not!!! common you Mr critics show us up your videos! you don't isn't it? you have nothing better to show = end of story, so go learn play and you wish you could only do nearly the same.

It’s strange seeing someone use alternate picking as a technique when all I do is down picking since I started out playing punk. It’s always so amazing how just watching someone’s playing you can see their personality and hear it too
@noaroos6115
4 жыл бұрын
Only downpicking as a punk? I would think that as a punk you would be well practiced with your alternate picking ;). I agree with your comment though, style can say quite a lot about personality. Take finger picking vs pick for example :D
@fred1395durst
3 жыл бұрын
When i first started i used ti also only use down picking, but then learned alternate picking, not saying you should, it got easier for me tho, but imma admit back then some riffs used to sound a lot heavier, now a days i struggle to keep a moderately fast tempo while down picking And i agree completely, its always amazing to see someone play the same songs but way differently than you, like you said the picking, how they hold the pick, their mannerisms, it truly is the personality of a person shining thru
I have no words, the quality of this upload there is no comparison... You really have to appreciate every bit of effort G6494 does to perfect these videos from the mixing to ensuring that it is a sunny day to film so the lighting is perfect, well worth the wait...

Actually the Mr.Crowley Organ/Sawtooth intro is better when it's played on bass however nice vid and man that flanger on The Number Of The Beast really fitted in...
Lovely playing. Great man. Enjoyed it.
Really nice top 10, very sweet selected songs !
Register at the link below to be part of the Fender Play program! prf.hn/click/camref:1100l4nE7 - Ya boi is back. Sorry for the lengthy wait, a lot has been happening. - Master of Puppets and Number of the Beast we’re probably the most difficult for me to get down and play in time with the drums (I never practiced fully down picking MOP until now and I always played NOTB with alternate picking, which isn’t correct…) - I regret not adding vibrato on the first held chord in Master of Puppets haha - Before you say “OMG Dude!! Where is Cowboys from Hell?” as always, this is not a definitive list, just my Top 10. Bands like Pantera will probably appear on Vol. 2 depending how this video goes… - I often get asked about which gear I used, so included a bit of a list at the end of the video. - I hope some viewers have discovered some new riffs or music from watching this video. Thanks for playing Mr. Crowley on a mockingbird. That riff just sounds so good coming from that guitar
One simply does not play painkiller with alt picking! Lol jokes aside, good vid. And a little note for downpicking faster and more comfortably (given we have kinda the same way to hold a pick and pick with an open hand): try to bring your fingers closer... almost forming a fist but without forming one. Just bring the other 3 fingers closer to the index. I find that helps me a bunch with down picking and forearm "burn" (i bet you have it too after a while).
@guitarist6494
6 жыл бұрын
Funny you should say that. I was thinking about playing painkiller all downpicking, but never saw anyone else doing it on youtube so i figured you can get away with alternate picking (unlike Master Of Puppets haha)
@aarondr594

If you watch closely in live videos, Glenn Tipton doesn't downpick either. He uses some economy picking approach. He does so to get to a downpick on every third note and place a pinch harmonic. It takes a short time getting used to this circular picking motion but it helped me a lot in playing the riff

Classic is a bit of a stretch for some of these songs. I'd say classic for metal is pre '85. For me the ten best classic metal riffs are -Black Sabbath -The wizard -Highway Star -victim of changes -dissendent aggressor -Stained Class intro riff -sanctuary -Angel of Death (angel witch not slayer) -Holy diver -Flight of Icarus

Thanks man, I honestly can't remember, it would have been either one of the Marshall amps or possibly another hi-gain amp like the Van 51 or the Uber Sonic (can't remember the names) but I never keep the same pre-amp for all 10 riffs on a video. I like to change it up occasionally, depending on the riff also.
