@@aelinashryver-galathynius681 Yeah. She matured a lot after season 3 because of the hard time she'd been through. And the series itself was a bit more dark then TLAB because it had suicide, PTSD, and murder scenes (like how Zaheer killed the Earth queen on screen).

U forgot one of the best highlights we got from “ Skeletons in the Closet “ was the fact we found out that Zuko named his grandson after his beloved Uncle (which was cute btw) and that he had Zuko’s amazing voice

@@Flome810 it's not a no contest. It's really preferences. I say korra is still better with everything the writers/creators had to work with at Nickelodeon and it still came out great now just imagined if they had the same exact process making korra as they did with ATLA.

I miss Korra so much. I miss this entire universe. I wish netflix would make a third series instead of a remake, it would've been really fascinating to see their world in modern times. i honestly imagine the Avatar learning bending through youtube or something

The old adage is "leave them wanting more". ATLA and LoK are so loved in part because they are one of the few series that actually did that. IMO the creators should leave well enough alone and work on new projects. New is underrated -- we never would have gotten ATLA if they didn't try something new. Try to make a new hot spark like that again, rather than beating a horse to death.

@Shonksu That episode only told the story of the first human earthbenders, not the first people to control earth. And even then, that story was nothing more than a romanticized legend. There's a huge difference between bending an element and moving it at random. It's even explicitly stated in the show. Bending is a skill, not a superpower. Why else do you think people in Wan's time didn't know what bending was or that it was possible to use an element as an extension of yourself?

The show itself was a faulty experiment making things up as it went with little difference with limited casting, wayward development, and rushed arcs. Only episodes remotely “good” about it were ones without Korra in them. Still, I was happy to be proven right about her. From the start I got the impression she was a lesbian, and I was right. Many naysayers came at me about it, but I got the last laugh in the end. Ha!

I loved that final kiss between Sokka and Aang. really wrapped up the series nicely. Such a heartfelt romance between those two.

They kinda focused on trying to make korra more relatable but in he end there were no valuable lessons learned(not to mentioned the last 10 seconds of the show like you mentioned) I hated how korra took counsel grudgingly and felt she doesn't need help just because she's the avatar, and the result of her lack of humility and respect led her to having three year sentence to pstd and she lacked redeeming qualities and your right that not everyone gotta be complicated, aang's team avatar stuck together despite the arguments they had(which is inevitable for any group)unlike Korra's team avatar who basically let their hormones get the best of them, and it really irritated me tbh when Korra kept letting her emotions kinda control her decision making, btw korra being taught metal bending is no exception, even if she was top tier physically she struggled spiritually alot simply because she's impatient aang on the other hand observed his surroundings before acting and always saught guidance from wise people and benefited from it why, cuz he analyzed the world carefully and was able to end the 100 year war without killing the main villain unlike Korra who literally lost her connection with the past lives then her hair and the many homes she destroyed and that was even worse cuz he past lives are supposed to guide the current avatar in making the right choices, one of the comic books of aang during the post 100 year war talked with avatar yangchen and she told aang that without the past lives you'll end up making more mistakes like them, so it was really important btw bolin was the only stabled guy there in Korra's team avatar, despite the fact that korra broke his heart he still kept a positive attitude and most of the team looked at him like he's just a brainless moron, they had to be on their periods at that time cuz he was more composed then them(and Idk why it's always the avatars from the water nation that want to do their own thing instead of taking full responsibility)and to top it all off you wanna take a vacation to the spirit world in the end of the show, she learned nothing and transformed the world into a disasterpiece in disguise, goes to show how ungrateful some of this generation is for what they have in front of them Moral of the story: don't watch LOK(haha jk but seriously) In conclusion, aang is just simply a pure boss Took me 45 mins as well😂 Sorry for the rant but my guy just said it like it is👏(which I love)

Can't forgive LoK for how they basically destroyed everything that embodies Avatar with the ending of Book 2. "Beginnings" elevated the series, just to destroy it a few episodes later. I was willing to forgive some of the lazy writing, but that ending is unforgivable.

Toph didn't pull out the mercury left in Korra's body. It was Korra herself who pull it out with Toph guiding her how to do it because when Toph was doing it, Korra keeps on resisting because of her trauma to what Zaheer did to her.

Everyone hated this show when it first aired. I liked it okay, but I wonder what the backlash was about. The show got critical acclaim as well so I don't know what happened.

Yeah it's not best but it's not as bad as people say it's okay as far as I have watched

Korra was more of a relatable character imo. She tried to be what everyone needed her to be and when she failed she failed hard. I constantly hear people point out Korra's faults without ever pointing out what makes her an amazing character. She never once gave up in a fight even if it was never in her favour to begin with. She's constantly knocked down yet she always gets back up. As atla was aimed at kids (despite it being it loved by people of all ages) it makes sense how Aang was made to be a role model for kids to look up too. Korra is a more relatable character but I only wish her character development kicked in sooner than season 3

I was hoping enter the void would be on the list, but at least its an honorable mention.

I really wish the books that were written after the series of ATLA and Korra were made into episodes. So much more potential content out there.

The 2009-2015 Resurgence period really was the best period of animated TV and blocks, Tatar we've had since the mid 2000s. The avatar franchise, Transformers Prime, Toonami, and Toonami Asia were a big part of it.

I don't care what anyone says, this show was great in its own way. It has a good story line, interesting villains, its funny, and a ton of character development. And yes, I still believe LoA was better, but this series deserves more credit than what it was initially given.

ATLA is a great show. LoK is a great followup with some flaws. But now we can move on. I don't understand why people keep begging for the same thing over and over. Do something new. Make us fall in love with a completely new story. We never would have gotten ATLA if the creators didn't start with a fresh, new idea. Do you really want to cling to that same thing forever? Or do you want to experience the joy of being blown away by the next new, fresh, great idea again? We've had 20 years of spiderman movies now. Plus maybe a dozen TV shows, and like 60 years of comics. Am I the only one that's bored to death of spiderman? How many fucking times are they going to tell the exact same story with the exact same characters before people get sick of it? ATLA was so refreshing because it was different and creative. But just remaking it for the 100th time (which, of course, they're in the process of doing now) shows a distinct LACK of creativity. Fuck that shit. Bryke need to move on. Do something else. Stop using the avatar universe as a crutch.

My favourite is the ultimatum that was such a good episode and the fight between tenzin and the red lotus was heart breaking

While I still think Endgame deserves at least an honorable mention, I do think the first two choices are good. Venom of the Red Lotus is a terrific finale and still gets my blood rushing and I do like learning where the Avatar came from in New Beginnings.

Love the first place episode, but the season 1 finale will always be my number 1.

"The Metal Clan" is my favorite.

Most people hated this show when it first aired because it wasn't a continuation of Aang's story. Now everyone wants more lol.

I loved LoK and ATLA. I just wish that they weren’t remaking Avatar on Netflix, it would be nice to see Team Avatar as adults and how Republic City came to be.

It's unfair than people keep comparing these two shows saying ATLA is "better" I was 11 when I first watched ATLA and then I was 18 when I first watched TLOK I adore both of them equally because TLOK managed to give me everything that I didn't know I wanted from the universe of Avatar, as a young adult rather than a kid, like complicated and motivated villains, political and power struggles, lgbt characters and relationships, commentary of the use of mass weaponry etc ATLA and TLOK are two precious gems and I couldn't be happier to have watched them being around the age of their protagonists

Had to re-watch both series to remind myself to properly end a show after the travesty that was Game of Thrones Season 8

This list was pretty good as a huge avatar fan.

I'm just going to put it out there, the antagonists in Korra were waaaaay better than ATLAB. Zaheer and Kuvira have to be some of the best villains ever

Although this show wasn't as strong as the first, it was still very good. I actually enjoyed Korra a lot more as a character than Aang; i felt i could connect with her more. It's sad how many people hate Korra as an Avatar, comparing her always to Aang. She's not perfect, but she learned from her mistakes along the way. Aang also had his downfalls. Also, i _loved_ Lin and Tenzin; such great characters.

I love this show , and zaheer was my favorite Villain .

Personally i feel like picking the wan episode is a cheat.

How long after a series ends is a Spoiler Alert in order, if not indefinitely?

Turning the Tides, Lin BeiFong and Tenzin get valuable characterization and its amazing

Korra is a great series and I wish we would've got more spin offs from the Avatar franchise

Timothy Wilkinson as a whole, i also prefer Korra over Avatar as well. I personally find it easier to relate to Korra than Aang, and the darker tone of the series is something that I just can’t help but love.

Yass beginnings i was waiting for it it just had to be on number one

I really like it’s darker and realistic thematic from example the episode Korra Alone with her depression and her demons, that stuff really got me in the guts because I have seen it and experienced it myself 😔 and I love ATLA because a lighter version but still having it’s dark moments especially when Katara learned blood bending and she was totally devastated by learning so 😐

Yes! That episode rocked.

I mean, there are a lot of good episodes. I just hope the episode where Roku, Kyoshi, freaking Aang, and the rest of the Avatars are written out of existence isn't on this list.
