    One area that is rarely considered is reliability. It is all nice that the vehicle is spacious and has cool tech but if it is in the shop or parked by the side of the road to frequently then none of that matters.

    If you don't mind a smaller space and the fuel economy. I think CX-5 is such a great car with top tier build quality, amazing HP with the turbo engine, great handling, soft/comfy ride, very quiet/well insulated cabin, known reliability with SkyActive engines and a solid sound system. Mazda's attention to detail and putting so much effort into R&D on their cars really wins me over. I don't care paying few extra bucks at the pump so it's my personal No.1 for sure!

    I am planing on buying a 2024 Hyundai Tucson in the fall!

  • @RoseWilson-ju5yx
    @RoseWilson-ju5yx3 ай бұрын

    Started shopping last fall (Sep '23) for a "compact Hybrid SUV" with priority given to cargo room. Our top 4 options were Rav4, CRV, Tucson and Sportage (again, all Hybrid models). Final choice: Sportage EX Hybrid, and we went on a "2 -3 month waiting list" in October: vehicle is now targeted for delivery at the end of Feb (and will be a 2024 model). The Sportage will be our third hybrid model (technically the hybrids have been my "wife's cars"): first a 2006 Prius (which she loved), and currently a 2017 Ioniq (which she loves Even More than the Prius!). The Ioniq has around 75,000 miles on it, has been largely trouble free (nothing serious, although just replaced rear brakes last week), and we will keep it as a daily commuter, using the Sportage for trips (hence the desire for more cargo space). We took a test drive in a '23 Sportage EX (Hybrid) and were very impressed with the performance and ride (relatively speaking, of course), and our experience with the '17 Ioniq suggests that the Kia (Hyundai) hybrid system is Likely to be reliable. A "real" transmission - vs CVT - and 18" wheels were also selling points: the 19" wheels on Tucson & Sportage SX don't seem practical given the overall condition of Michigan roadways, AND we enjoy camping, which often involves driving on some rather poor secondary / gravel roads. YMMV....

    Reliability isn’t as easy to compare. Hearsay is quite misleading. Without solid statistics from each of the automotive manufacturers, it’s not possible to make an accurate comparison. The best one can do is read a few hundred owner reviews, but not on forums or social media. Those outlets are primarily used by people who are troubleshooting a problem. Secondary sources, but are also misleading, include JD Power Initial Quality Study, Consumer Reports, etc. Also talk to brand technicians, techs who work at the dealerships that sell the cars new. I like to look at crash tests, too.

Keep in mind low to the ground, so she can step up and space for wheelchair. This was a fantastic video, but my point is we all have differences in what we want, so test drive them all and make up your own mind. Also, IMO, you shouldn’t be stuck on one specific car company or you might miss out on a much better vehicle at a much better price.

I believe your reviews are misleading for novice buyers or for buyers who do not have a knowledge of cars.

    You guys probably picked these vehicles in the closest order to what I’d choose. I shopped all but the Outlander (which I find ugly) , and just bought a Tucson Hybrid. I love it and it has the power the regular engine lacks and it gets double the city mileage of my 2020 Escape. While not my first pick it was what I got due to lack of availability. Ford doesn’t get enough love for their tech which is better than the Tucson but I was won over my interior quality and the warranty and value. No one mentions this but I’d love you to do some comparative reviews of manufacturer’s driver assist functions. I preferred Ford’s adaptive cruise to Hyundai’s and Ford has auto park (gimmicky but pretty amazing). It takes some work to see how these systems work in the wild. I prefer Hyundai’s cross traffic and lane keeping but found Ford’s adaptive cruise and front collision braking better (Ford’s seems more reliable to me but both have limits). I appreciate you’ve started listing 0-60 times in your reviews, may the smile meter RIP! Great job as always.

    North American version car should have different category hahaha. Here is my experience let me share. I purchased a hyundai tucson hybrid in 2022 and I know it share the same tech and feat with kia and I traded it to Rav4 Hybrid and here's why 1. I live in manitoba winter is real af the placement of the sensor of tucson is so low it always get covered by snow send some annoying notifi every time 2. Turbo system got freeze-up too cold dealership say you just need to heat em up and drive it normaly - with a check engine light on lol i dont think so 3. Factory fog light not included cause it has no place for to begin with at front. Not all driver like to DIY for sure but that so damn helpful specially at time when you were driving at a foggy days, that feel tho. 4.Head light placement is so low always coverd with dirt make visibilty at night driving lesser. 5.Infotaiment and climate knobs oh man why hyundai? 6.and do not spray to hard when washing on that front lower lip facia it will pill-out the dark flakey color coat hahha But all in all a good SUV. Honda CRV 2024 hybrid touring i test drive it as my second option. Jesus Christ! 1. 50+k CND no rear heated seat. Goodluck to that. 2. They put the hybrid battery on the back where you should put the spare tire. Nice! Smaller Cargo space. But still a great looking SUV Yeah. I will take the RAV4 hybrid limited.

    Great comparison video! Drew mentioned reliability at the very end, which is very important to me. I realize that some drive trains are newer so that rating category may be more subjective. If you could time travel 175,000 miles into the future for each vehicle compared, do you think your list would be in the same order when including reliability and cost of ownership? I'm thinking no to that question. Thanks for making this video!

    I'm shopping and so far the Subaru outback is winning. A bit pricey, loading it up it gets near the Genesis GV70 which considering how well you like the Kia and Hyundai models I guess I should have a harder look at. The reliability factor is confusing. Genesis has increased greatly and JD Power gives it a good rating, plus it comes with 5 year warranty and 5 year free service. You read all kinds of things about Subaru, both good and bad, but of the dozen or so Subaru owners I've talked to they all like them and have had good experiences.

But they are much cheaper than Genesis where I live. Like $20k less.

    I can't believe I'm considering a Kia. The Tucson's grill is just to ugly and the Sportage headlight design grabs attention away from it's only slightly better looking grill. The only thing that makes me question the reliability of the Sportage other than it being a Kia is the technology based design. Analog and simple is always better while flashy and more will likely cost you. Before buying a hybrid you should check the cost of replacing it in ten years or less and compare it to what you save in gas. I put 5k mile a year on a car and figured out it would take me 30 years to recoup the costs of owning a hybrid. And don't get me started on CVTs. Don't attack the messenger do a basic Google search.
