The thing I love about Aang and Katara is how the whole "the man is bigger a d stronger" thing is turned around; she is taller, she often catches him and protects him and so on. They are still equal and he is still strong, but the need for him to appear typically masculine is just not there!

IvyTruong Yeah, if they were going to make all of Mako’s romantic relationships implode, I would have liked to have seen more brotherly moments between him and Bolin. I loved their reunion with the relatives in Ba-sing-sei. Taking down the Kuvira engine together was rad too and I thought Book 1 introduced their brotherhood well. Hopefully the bros will get more love in the comics. Haven’t read them yet.

He didn't? Suki was not his girlfriend yet after meeting for the first time; all that happened was a little flirting and a kiss on the cheek for goodbye. When he met Yue he didn't hit on anyone else while he was with her (honestly didn't have much opportunity anyways) and after she became the moon, he was single but grieved her for quite a while. When he finally meets Suki again and they get together, he is faithful to her, too. So I really don't know what you're talking about.

Vetarlit Torf Yeah. We didn’t get to see Katara suggesting her and Aang should kiss in the cave of two lovers. We didn’t see the time Katara kissed Aang on the cheek over 5 times in the series. We didn’t see the time where Katara blushes around Aang. We didn’t see the time where she had a breakdown when Aang was shot by lightning. We didn’t see the time Katara calmed him down from the avatar state and got emotional.

I wonder whats wrong with ya'll... believe me, I ship LTBGQ couples (Solangelo, Garnet, etc), and even have one in a book I am writing (two protagonists)... but Korrasamai didn't make sense. Like please, I understand they fit, but.... could've it been introduced in a better way? I am meh with Korrasami, but... I don't like the way they just simply did it in the end....(hey, no hate on Kataang, its legit my fav couple).

Tariq Thomas. It was a perfect story of them two being together ang fell in love and katara teaches him how to bend and then eventually katara had the same feelings.

Jin and Mai's ex-boyfriend Kei Lo would make a good couple I think.

Master Pakku and Gran gran should have been an honorable mention. It was great to know that they ended up together in the end.

I’m so sad the Kai and Jinora love story didn’t go very far I loved them together , they had more chemistry then half the couples on the show.

What an incredible show Avatar: The Last Airbender was... I started watching it for laughs when I was a kid and soon realised what a serious show that was. Also I would have definitely shipped Katara and Ang if it wasn't for the fact that Ang looked more like her younger brother rather than a love interest, and also their dynamic was much more that of two siblings or best friends where the younger boy crushes on his older female best friend rather than that of a couple.

korrasami couldn’t be seen on screen because it came out like 10 years ago was being gay wasn’t accepted.

I love TOKKA (toph and Sokka) they have a funny and suitable relationship the same as ZONOUR ZUKO AND HIS HONOUR 😂🤣😂

I don’t get the relationship of Korra and Asami. It was never established in the story well enough to get the story across that there could be a thing with them. So it wasn’t as impactful of a thing as it could have been if the writers had hinted at it in earlier seasons and not just in two episodes

In a word, pandering. Any time the main character is female, for whatever reason, there are fans who insist that said main character be homosexual despite writing quality or lack thereof. Of course, the same can be said for male main characters, but that's far less prevalent.

Yeah the writers even said they wish they developed the characters love relationship more, but they made it clear that the two were suppose to be a couple.

Finally some Maiko love!!

It's like in real life, men or women it depends on the story, don't down right fall in love right away. She didn't have an obviously massive crush on him right away like Aang did on her, but she definitely loved him. Katara fully fell for Aang when he kissed her before the invasion on the day of black sun. As he left she realized that everything that happened and all the feelings she had were real and they were given back. The fortune teller told her that she would fall in love with a powerful bender and then later on Sokka proclaims that Aang is a powerful bender and Katara then sorta had a feeling that it would be Aang. After the invasion she sorta gave into it. Katara loved Aang but she had to actually fall in love, and figure it out on her own. Aang loved Katara from his moment of awakening. Love is twisted and unfair but it's also beautiful. That's why Kataang is beautiful and I'm glad it's the top couple on this video.

The Korra and Asami thing felt super forced. There was no relationship development at all. Writing letters isn’t relationship development at all. I’m all for representation but not when there is not development or romantic interest shown by the characters at all.

Vetarlit Torf believe me it’s not about Korrasami being some great romance so much as it is about most couples on the show sucking that much.

My favorite couple is Aang and Katara. It was from the beginning that we saw how Aang felt about Katara. It's a little sad we don't see Katara express her feelings to Aang until the series finale. But, it was great to learnt hat she and Aang had a wonderful family together in Legend of Korra. Best couple from the series!!!! :)

Ang and Katara were definitely my favorite couple. I’m so so glad Cora and Asamie made this list and so high up too! We need more LGBTQ couples in kids’ shows. I didn’t read the comics so I didn’t catch on until last season. If they weren’t together already they definitely got together right after the show ended. I hope she got to meet Iroh.

Kataang is actually so underrated

I agree tht there are many iconic couples and tbh like most ppl I actually prefer the original series over Korra ... but c'mon Varrick & Zhu li should hv been # 1. Their love arc was awesome, and their wedding ended the series. They're the best. ....plus she knows how to... “do the thing” 😊😜😏👍🙌
