    The blessing of today's internet is if you have a not so common tool in your home, there's usually a lot of "hacks" for wild ways to use them. *This video is just some basic tactics, but I have no doubt there are videos out there showing the unique operations these can be used to perform.*

Thank you so much for some of the information. I’m not sure when I would the cold side, because that’s the part that I could find the cold lamination sheets.😢

    Hi Ed. One small correction to a common mistake. The mil. referred to in lamination thickens is 1/1000 of an inch not Millimeters. A three mil pouch would be 1/8" on each side and 1 /4" total. It is 3 /1000" on each side 6 /1000" + The document .

    Sorry about the late reply on this one! If you're laminating thick paper, I would probably go with a 8 or 10ml laminating sheet. You're likely going to get bubbling on the thinner ones as they're not meant to handle thicker paper

  • @EdTchoi

    Great question! My hunch is that due to the soft nature of pastels, they would not do well with heat, so cold lamination would probably be your safest bet.

    Hello Ed, why does my and the projects,? have air bubbles and then the pouches become separate the laminated pouches

  • @EdTchoi

    @EdTchoi

    Жыл бұрын

    There can be several factors which causes air bubbles: 1. Dust or particles getting trapped in between the laminated sheets 2. Low tension on the supply roll which minimizes adhesion 3. Coated papers and high gloss papers can also be prone to bubbles, likely because the lamination sheet doesn’t stick well to these surfaces. I think by and large, dust and particles can be the most common issue. When you laminate, make sure that your documents and laminating pouches are clear of dust and debris. Hope this helps!

    How to fold & bend a11"x17" in to 8.5"x11" after lamination????????? Ty for the tips.

  • @EdTchoi

    @EdTchoi

    2 жыл бұрын

    Good question as that sounds like a challenging task! I'm not quite sure how you would be able to bend it without damaging the laminated sheet, but I may try lightly scoring the area where you want to bend it and then taping it up with Scotch Tape so that the bend doesn't wear out. Not sure if this would do it for you, but it may be worth experimenting. Let me know how it goes and thanks for watching!

    Scoring the paper before laminating is the ticket. Then folding the laminated item on the score line works perfectly. No issue with wear & tear at the fold. 😊 I love the posty note trick! That was a 🥇 gold medal tip!

    Years ago, I used a laminator in an office and there was a sleeve that needed to be placed over the pouch before feeding it into the laminator. It was like cardboard with a shiny foil side. I seem to remember that it protected the rollers from gumming up. It appears that the new laminators do not require that step. Any comments?

    I DO NOT! Recommend the glue trick, my photos were fine at first but over night the ink leaked/smudged on the photo and now they look terrible, maybe an alternative would be using a book or box to hold the paper up and stop the small photos from falling out.
