The US Navy has on hand some large Amphibious Ships that bigger than some ships on this list, may not carry as many aircraft but carries a lot of Marines on board and can land these troops in an Amphibious assault. One Class is as big as a WW2 Essex Class CArrier.

Interesting video. As it is said in the video, there is a significant difference between the nuclear based aircraft carrier and classical one. Therefore, the first two in your list (Nimitz class and Ford Class) are much more advanced in comparison to all other models. Only the Charles De Gaulle with it nuclear based technology are a little bit closer to the US aircraft carrier models. However, given the size of the american models (100000 tons and more or less 13 Billion ISD)) with their very advanced embedded technology nobody can compete with the USA in this area.

You say nuclear powered CVs are more advanced, because they are nuclear powered? You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, pal. Nuclear-powered aircraft carriers have a larger operational area, and they can carry more aircraft, true. The reason? Because they fucking have to patrol half of the pacific and half the Atlantic. Also, America always had to be shown as the most powerful, because frankly, Russia AND China would take advantage otherwise. True, they are still the most advanced (probably), but I would bet that the JS Izumo and the Chinese Fujian would give them a run for their money. Fujian itself is believed to be between 85k and 100k tons, on par with the Gerald R. Ford. Just because someone, who almost always speaks in 3-5 word sentences says something is advanced, doesn't mean others are not... Izumo and Kaga, although much smaller, and can carry only 12 VTOL aircraft and a few helicopters, cost a fraction of the Ford, or Fujian (1B$ compared to the 17B$ of Ford; Fujian is not really known, but it was a converted destroyer, so it's probably quite big). One more thing. Ever wondered why the Royal Navy, known to be the biggest colonizing country in the world didn't build a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier? The reason's very simple. THEY DON'T HAVE TO. Their operational area is much smaller due to the fact the CV requires the fuel to be on-board (it's heavier than NP cells), and this is one of the reasons it can carry less aircraft (USS Ford's range is unlimited, but even the Queen Elizabeth can go 1.5 times around the world on a single fueling). However, the twin gas-turbine and quadruple diesel engines are much more economical than the enriched-uranium-requiring NP reactors on shorter missions. Just please don't speak without thinking again... it's embarrassing to read...

Queen Elizabeth class can carry up to 72 Aircraft. She may not be as long but she's very wide. 3rd when fully loaded.

The problem is that it is not CATOBAR model (only 2 countries do them, US and France) also, they are not nuclear powered, and it's a true problematic. Nuke engine brings true advantage. But I agree, I would put Kuznetsov behind both CDG and QE class.

Still she's a better carrier than the Chinese. They can build building's but the US and the UK have been building Aircraft carrier's for nearly 100 years. Now we are getting 74 F-35B Lighting Aircraft and then maybe more after that. 36 on each Aircraft carrier with Apache 64E attack helicopters. At least by 2025 they won't be light. Plus new drones. And with 4 acres of flightt deck and a large hager is good. Plus we have two of them. With maybe another on the way soon. The UK is building 24 Frigates and destroyers and submarines by 2030. And 150 new Warships and Submarines in the next 30 year's. It's looking good for the Royal Navy and its about time we are an Island nation.

@@jpc7118UK can build nuclear powered Queen Elizabeth carriers only reason it is diesel powered because its construction started after end of the Cold War after which UK only needed to patrol regional water. In the Cold War it’s carriers will need to chase off Soviet jets and ships.

The Russian carrier is currently half sunk in a leaking dry dock. It has the distinction of being the world's most unreliable navel vessel. It travels with numerous support and maintenance ships such is it's unreliability. Other countries navel personnel take bets on where it will break down.

Yeah it's actually funny to see that clown ship show up on this list in spot 3, it is a colossal waste of money and probably a net negative to have in your armed forces. Most nations would immediatly scrap the old Admiral if they had it in their inventory.

Interesting you have both the Russian ship sitting rusting and the Chinese ship ahead of the UK Queen Elizabeth class modern ships 🤔

Of the 10 ships on this list, 3-10 are mere targets of opportunity for the first two. The Kuznetsov shouldn't even be on this list since it can't find its way out of a floating dry dock. Why is the Russian flagship (Kuznetsov) even on this list? Much less in the 3rd spot? You know that Russia rarely used this this anyway. It spends most it's time in port getting repairs on a daily basis. There are literally other countries that can surpass this by default.

The Thai carrier isn't in use it only sometimes sails with a handful of helicopters. And the Sao Paulo are out of service and about to be scrapped. Kuznetsov is scrap metal it is unsalvageable. The CDG is more capable than the QE class and type 002 carrier the difference between the launch systems. The US America and Wasp classes have more combat capabilities than the Russian or Chinese carriers just like the Spanish, Australian and Japanese helicopter carriers.

Two problems! One, Thailand's carrier is just parked up in port and is no longer in active duty! Two, Brazil's carrier is somewhere off the Brazilian coast at the bottom of the south Atlantic Ocean. It's filled with toxic asbestos waste and now sea water aswell. Cheers😊

Don't know where you get your facts from but you are way out with your list of what the QE class can carry.

The Charles de Gaulle is only in 6th place while it is one of the only nuclear aircraft carriers in the world with the Nimitz class and Gerald Ford.

@@nathanflynn9276 QE class is disiel and and has no catapult so it's a big disadvantage, not only can he not go everywhere he wants but in addition he can carry months of armaments and the planes have a shorter autonomy.

@@louvement4860 at the moment CATOBAR systems don't matter as the f-35 (which is superior to the Rafale at long ranges) doesn't need a catapult plus there is the possibility of a mid-life upgrade and the QEs are better automated requiring around 600 less ship crew then de gaulle

Put simply, neither Shandong nor, especially, Russia's Kuznetsov, are anywhere near as capable as France's Charles de Gaulle or the UK's Queen Elizabeth class ships.

Since when is the Charles de Gaulle a Clemenceau-class aircraft carrier? It is a single ship: the Charles de Gaulle. That's about it. The ship replaced the 2 Clemenceau-class carriers (Clemenceau and Foch). I mean if you're going to make a video about a topic, make sure to properly learn about it first? This is just basic information.

On what criteria are these carriers ranked? Is it tonnage? Amount of planes it carrys? Length? Weapons? Propulsion system? Or just what the video maker thinks he likes? It just seems a bit confused. There are some relatively new carriers that are bigger and more advanced than others, yet they're ranked below the old Russian rubbish. Does the author of this video sound like he's Russian.

This person’s opinion is very suspect if they put that junk kuznetsov at 3. That has been a terrible ship from day one. It’s barely been able to get out to sea more than 15days a year and needs a tug shadowing it. Let’s see if it is resurrected after that incident with the crane. The thing is a white elephant
